Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1601].
2. Now as we find, in many ways this body presents rather an interesting study from the pathological conditions as we find that exist. Not that there are such great disturbances in the present, but the conditions are such that without the proper corrections they might be turned into most ANY character of disturbance - from the very nature of those reactions that at present exist!
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1601] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. First, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY:
5. Here we find the reactions of a nature in which there is indication of a disturbance in the metabolism, but from the katabolic reaction - which is rather an unusual thing.
6. From same we have the disturbing effects. Not that the activity of the heart as an organ is disturbed, but there is a sympathetic reaction. And there are periods when there is quite a variation in the pulsation, in the pressure, and in the manner of reaction.
7. These are indicated at periods in the manner in which the body feels suddenly listless, or easily tired; either by exercise or unusual happenings that require a great change in the mental reaction.
8. Also we find the indication in portions of the body at times through an upset with the digestive forces; reflexes at times to the organs of the sensory system. Hence foods taken do not act properly and do not taste exactly right; or the body itself in its mental reactions wonders why it doesn't think as it used to think about conditions when they occur.
9. These are reflexes and give their reflection in the reactions in the body physically AND mentally.
1601-1 Page 2
10. Now these conditions as we find, primarily, arise from a CATARRHAL effect that is produced in the system. But the hormones of the blood stream, by a very well balanced condition in what may be termed the chemical reaction of the glandular system, have kept these from becoming localized as disturbing conditions. This is another unusual pathological reaction.
11. However, as we find:
12. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, these conditions have created and are gradually creating pressures; so that there are periods in the nerve reactions when we have at times a little disturbance in the activities of the lower limbs - when there are those tendencies or it wants to move about, and others when it should move and doesn't feel as if it would like to!
13. As we find, then, these are the incoordinations between IMPULSES in the nerve system.
14. There is gradually being builded through these also a disturbance, IN THE ORGANIC REACTION especially in the liver, spleen and pancreas.
15. Hence we have at times those irritations with the activity of the lower hepatic circulation; those as related to the activity of the pelvic organs, as well as the kidneys - and building those disturbances as indicated in the upper hepatic or the liver as related to its functioning as an excretory as well as a secretive organ.
16. This becomes a contributory condition, as has been indicated, in the circulation. And these are conditions as we find to be warned against.
17. For if these become localized, then there may occur most any character of disturbance in the organs of the system; though in the present we only find the organs disturbed as to their functioning and NOT organically.
18. These in their reaction throughout, between the nervous system and the sensory organs, we find produce at times these effects:
19. At times with the hearing there are disturbances from noises, or a feeling as of an unusual pressure in same. At times the eyes are affected; the lids appear to burn, the nerve forces themselves appear to fill the ducts that carry the reactions of vision from the eyeballs themselves - or optic reaction.
20. All of these are, as seen then, SYMPATHETIC conditions.
21. And with the removal of the CAUSES of these, and with the keeping of the balance in system (which as we have indicated is as the saving grace in the present), we find that we should not only make for bettered conditions but
1601-1 Page 3
prevent disturbances later on.
22. AS WE FIND, THEN:
23. We would begin with those properties that will so increase the eliminations as to carry from the system those drosses that are in excess; TUNING as it were the organs of elimination to the needs of those disturbances produced by that reaction from the conditions of the nature tending to make for clogging in portions of the lymph and the emunctory reactions.
24. Thus we will relieve the body of many of those disturbing influences and bring about much nearer normal forces for this body.
25. Begin, then, with the use of such activities as will be found in Zilatone as an eliminant. For THIS body, we find it would be taken in this manner:
26. About thirty minutes to an hour after the morning meal, take one tablet. Then after the evening meal, about an hour afterward, take TWO tablets.
27. Continue in this manner for five days. This will increase the circulation, increase the activities, and apparently for the first period make for such an elimination as to produce a drain; but keep it up for the five days.
28. Then leave off for five days.
29. After that, then, take only the TWO tablets of an evening - for a period of two to three weeks.
30. Then leave off for a period of a week or ten days. Then repeat the whole procedure, or have another series or round of taking them as indicated.
31. When the Zilatone tablets have been taken for the first period of three weeks, THEN:
32. We would have at least six to eight osteopathic GENERAL adjustments; for the attuning, or for the producing of a better coordination throughout the whole of the cerebrospinal system, between the ganglia and the organs and portions of the system that are supplied with the nerve energies through those areas; particularly in the 4th lumbar, 9th dorsal, from the 3rd to the 1st dorsal, from the 8th cervical to the 3rd cervical.
33. Also occasionally - not spasmodically, but consistently - in periods, you see - we would take the head and neck exercises; for the organs of the sensory system. First this will produce a little dizziness; and apparently - once or twice - make for a greater irritation to the eyes.
34. Bathe the eyes often with a weak alkaline antiseptic solution, such as Lavoris; half water and half Lavoris, see?
35. These will clear the eye vision, and reduce those tendencies for little dull headaches.
1601-1 Page 4
36. And we will find, through these periods, we will bring near to normal conditions in this body.
37. Ready for questions.
38. (Q) What osteopath in Raleigh, N.C., is suggested? (A) In the hospital there - osteopathic. [A. R. Tucker, D.O.]
39. (Q) What causes soreness in neck and shoulder? (A) The accumulations of poisons that make for pressure upon the superficial circulation, as we have indicated. With the cleansing of the system and especially with the general manipulations that would be given - the osteopathic GENERAL treatments, you see - these conditions will be removed; or their causes will be removed, and then the distribution of energies from the nerve and blood supply will make for much nearer normalcy.
40. (Q) How can I prevent chronic colds? (A) Get rid of that which causes same! which is the general catarrhal condition that affects the superficial circulation, especially the lymph and the emunctory! These are the things we have been talking about!
41. (Q) Are tonsils infected? (A) These as we find are a portion of the disturbance, but with the corrections and the stimulations they should be alright.
42. (Q) What causes, and how can I correct, frequent backache? (A) This is the same disturbance. As has been indicated, this occurs just above and just across the disturbance with the kidneys, you see, in the lower hepatic circulation. When we have cleansed the system from the poisons and accumulations, by the use of those tonic forces (and the Zilatone will be a tonic, if taken in the manner as indicated to be given), we will find such effects will disappear.
43. (Q) What is the condition of the teeth? (A) Save for the disturbance through accumulations, we find these are very good; though local attention would be advised.
44. (Q) What teeth are in need of treatment? (A) As just indicated, have them treated locally - and these will be indicated in the findings and the applications there.
45. (Q) Give corrective diet. (A) The body has been a very good dietician, or else we would not have the chemical balance as we have! As we find, keep this as the rule - rather than studying the diet in such minutia that the body becomes one that can't
1601-1 Page 5
eat this, or can't eat that, or can't eat the other! or this would hurt, or that would hurt, or the other would hurt! Because such an attitude becomes as chronic as a disturbing diet! but keep this as the rule: Have an eighty percent alkalin-producing diet to a twenty percent acid-producing diet. This would be then for this body much in the manner as it has kept normally, but DO NOT COMBINE cereals with the citrus fruit juices at the same meal. Do not use white potatoes and white bread at the same meal. If these are considered in the diet, the conditions will be found to be much better.
46. (Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) Study to show thyself approved unto all good conscience. Do not disobey thine own conscience! Thy ideals are very good. Trust - put thy faith - in HIM.
