This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of June, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self through his sister - Mrs. [1620], who took out new Associate Membership for him - Dr. [1606], in Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. Mrs. [1620] attended New York meeting of the Association on May 23rd.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1606].
2. Now as we find, the disturbing influences or forces are rather a complication. Conditions that have at times been of little or no consequence have, through the various natures and the characters of the disturbances at different times, become a part of the disturbing factors.
3. Then, some of the applications that have been made have become not only rather ineffective but have become harassing; or have produced greater disturbances rather than bringing ease or help for the body.
4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1606] we are speaking of:
5. The blood supply indicates that there have been infectious forces, which have carried pus formations in their nature. And, because of the very nature and character of the disturbing forces, through the lack of eliminations and the conditions producing the reactions to the body, these attack the very foundations of the functionings of the hepatic circulation - and the lower hepatic circulation.
6. As these then formed pockets or pus conditions in the activity of these organs, there arose those involvements from old conditions in the blood supply - as wrought by the effect of infectious forces, and that have in a manner acted as reinfection to the disturbed organs.
7. Hence not only do the eliminating channels become affected, but - with portions of the intestinal system - the liver, the pancreas, the kidneys and even the ducts and glands through which there is the activity or functioning of these, become involved.
8. Thus we have the very character or nature of the combination, or complication.
9. As we find in the present there are the inclinations for
1606-1 Page 2
temperatures, the destructive forces to the better building in the blood supply; which inflammation - with the pressures upon the nerve system, especially through the lumbar and locomotaries of the lower circulation, to the lower portion of the body - causes incapacity for activity, pressures upon the mental reactions of the bodily forces themselves. Thus we have a very serious condition in relation to the abilities being brought back, for activity or locomotion of an involuntary nature through the activities of the system.
10. Yet as we find, if there is the persistent and consistent reaction, we may bring the bettered conditions for this body.
11. It will require persistence. It will require consistent manipulations as well as administrations in those ways and manners to meet the varied conditions that arise through the disturbing forces in the body.
12. We will find, too, that these will alter so that there must be kept a very close watch on the changing conditions as eliminations are gradually set up through all portions of the activities of the bodily forces themselves.
13. All conditions must be taken into consideration, then; as in the prostate, and the effect upon the bladder, the kidneys, as well as through the activities as related to the circulatory forces from same to the upper hepatic or the liver activity.
14. First, we would begin with those administrations through the Elliott Machine, or Heat, for the conditions through the alimentary canal; that is, as related to the sphincter centers in the lower portion of the bodily forces of elimination, and as related to the prostate reaction which is causing the disturbance in the present.
15. This would be used at least every other day, for thirty minutes to an hour, for at least two weeks.
16. And after a week or ten days of using the Elliott Machine, we would inject a weak solution of Atomidine through the penis into the bladder area itself, and through the channel or canal of the ureter; so that the inclinations for inflammatory conditions in the urea (?) and those activities that drain from the kidneys to the bladder may receive by such injections the influence for the ability to allay the infectious forces. By a weak solution we mean about five parts water to one part Atomidine.
17. After ten days of treatment with the use of the Elliott Machine, as well as some injections, we would begin with applying two or three folds of flannel heavily saturated with an equal combination of Mutton Suet (melted), Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor, across the liver, the
1606-1 Page 3
pancreas, even the whole of the caecum area. Of course, dissolve the Mutton Suet and then add the other ingredients; not while the Mutton Suet is boiling or very hot but before it has cooled sufficient to solidify, see? Then apply heat over same; that is, over the pack when it is applied, see?
18. Then after each of such local applications or Packs, about twice a week, we would have a thorough OSTEOPATHIC massage; beginning around the upper portion of the cervical area and head, gradually working down along the cerebrospinal system, stimulating especially drainages from the alimentary canal - through the upper dorsal as well as from the solar plexus and those areas for the eliminations through the jejunum and the activities through the system.
19. At least once or twice a month, or oftener if there are not the proper eliminations through the alimentary canal, it is well that there be a CLEANSING of the colon - through hydrotherapy.
20. As for the diet: There should be kept those things that are easily assimilated, yet carrying the proper salts for keeping an equal balance through the bodily forces; that is:
21. Plenty of the beef juice; NOT broths, you see, but the beef juice. Not large quantities, but this given rather often - about a tablespoonful during a whole day; and this would mean that it would be given five or six times during the day - just sipped.
22. Vegetable juices should also be a portion of the diet, and semi-liquids.
23. All of these are to be kept as the effects upon the system show their changes.
24. Keep these all in a consistent way and manner. Then, if these are applied, in thirty to sixty days we would give further instructions for those changes that come about.
25. Do that.
26. Ready for questions.
27. (Q) What was the nature of the first infection? (A) As we find, irritations to the glands of reproduction.
28. (Q) Can he have become infected with an animal parasite? (A) We do not find it so; though the use of drugs for the destruction of animal parasite HAS been a part of that which has - through absorption - caused irritation. Do these things as indicated, as we find, if we would bring the better influences and forces for this body.
