TEXT OF READING 1623-1 M 48

This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of June, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1623], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. Charles G. Taylor - through Hugh Lynn Cayce and David E. Kahn.

Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body called [1623].

2. As we find, there are disturbing forces of a complicated nature that disturb the physical reactions with this body. These, arising from the infection reaction producing a heaviness or lack of movement between the muscular reactions and the irritations in same, are effects.

3. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, Mr. [1623], we are speaking of:

4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this indicates that there was first an unbalancing in the metabolism of the system, and congestion through the activities of the assimilating forces or system as related to liver, pancreas, spleen, and a lack of coordination with the excretory forces of the liver.

5. And for same, as we find, there have been misapplied conditions. Hence we have had an infection arising, producing - through the toxic reactions in the alimentary canal, and through the nervous system - a breaking of coordination between the sympathetic or vegetative and cerebrospinal nerve systems.

6. This accounts for the irritations to portions of the superficial circulation, as well as the inability for the body to rest, also for the impressions the body receives of disturbing influences and forces about the body.

7. It is not a mental condition wholly, yet its reaction to the sympathetic system, through the sensory reactions, gives that very reaction to the BODILY functioning in the system.

8. Hence the arthritic reaction at times, the conditions as effects to the sensory organisms - both the auditory as well as to the vision; for all become a part of the general disturbance.

9. IN THE ACTIVITY OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, centers along the cerebrospinal system, where there is the greater coordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal, have

1623-1 Page 2

become very sensitive - at times.

10. Hence from the 9th dorsal we find reflexes to the lower portion of the hepatic circulation. Hence conditions that would be involved in the glandular forces in association with the activity of kidneys - which would again account for the character of poisons and the pressures upon the nervous system that affect portions of the sympathetic - or the organs of the sensory system.

11. The centers about the coccyx and the lumbar plexus also show areas where pressures are indicated. These reflexes also to the vegetative center, or that just between the cervical and the dorsal or secondary BRACHIAL center, produce the repressions that cause the inability of the activity through the branches of the breathing - or the respiratory system.

12. These become a portion at times of the mental reactions; as it is the incoordination between cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems.

13. IN THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as indicated, these are reflexes to the organic reactions throughout the whole of the system, though specific disturbances in the liver and the circulatory forces between that and the heart and the lungs give the fullness and a SOURCE from which - with the other disturbance - we have the arthritic reaction.

14. THEN, IN MAKING ADMINISTRATIONS FOR HELPFUL FORCES FOR THIS BODY:

15. We would first correct the subluxations that exist in those specific centers along the cerebrospinal system, namely: The 9th dorsal plexus AND the contributory reactions; the 4th lumbar axis; and raise the coccyx end from the pressures upon the nerve ends of the lower portion of the cerebrospinal centers. Then we would coordinate these with the removed pressures in the 1st, 2nd dorsal and through the lower cervicals. About twice a week should such corrections in the osteopathic manner be made.

16. Also we would begin with the vibratory forces from low electrical forces carrying Gold into the system - the acid yellow Gold; the proportions being three grains to an ounce of distilled water. The vibratory reactions from this are some different from the Gold taken internally or hypodermatically, and will be to produce to the nerve reactions the abilities for BETTER coordination in their activity. The application of same would be through the lower forms of the electrical vibration, as from the Wet Cell Appliance; making the attachments as follows:

17. The small copper plate would be attached first, to the 9th dorsal plexus; while the larger nickel plate, through

1623-1 Page 3

which the Gold Solution is to pass, would be attached last - to the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus. Not exactly over the gall duct area, but those centers or plexus just below same - a little area there.

18. Such attachments of the Appliance would be made each day for twenty minutes, preferably as the body is ready to retire, or rest.

19. A gentle massage after the use of the Appliance, and a massage only, is well.

20. For keeping better assimilation we would take Alcaroid after the meals, only twice each day; about a quarter teaspoonful following the morning meal, and nearly half a teaspoonful after the evening meal - about twenty to thirty minutes afterward.

21. In the matter of the diet: Here we find the cleansing diet first would be preferable; principally all characters of fruit or vegetables - principally RAW vegetables, and most of the fruits raw. These would be taken for five to six days, to cleanse the system.

22. Then the cereals with milk of morning; a raw vegetable salad for the noon meal; and well-cooked vegetables for the evening meal - though a little meat may be taken if desired, such as fish, fowl or lamb. NEVER any fried foods.

23. Do these and we will bring the bettered conditions for this body.

24. Ready for questions.
