1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1642].
2. Now as we find, the disturbances that cause the improper activity of the body have been of long standing.
3. Hence we find rather a complication of disturbances, as the body has in its functionings attempted to adjust itself to activities that have been hindered in many directions.
4. These as we find began with subluxations that have existed in the upper dorsal area, which deflected the activity of a portion of the liver's functioning.
5. This has gradually grown in such a way and manner as to also deflect in the reflexes from the upper dorsal to the organs of the sensory system.
6. Thus we have, through portions of the nerve reflexes, the periods when the body becomes supersensitive to activities from without; as well as a great deal of nervous distress that reflexes in the circulations between the heart and the liver; thus producing a great deal of disturbance in the circulation from head to the vagus center.
7. These are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1642] we are speaking of:
8. Then, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find there are the effects of toxic forces through the system by the inactivity of the liver as it coordinates with the kidneys.
9. Thus we have at times disturbances by pressures upon the locomotory forces, and the anxieties and conditions which produce a form of insomnia and nervous reaction - arising from the toxic forces.
10. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, as indicated, we find in the upper dorsal and through a portion of the cervical area the subluxations that have long hindered, causing the disturbances through the activities of the organs of elimination.
11. AS TO THE ORGANS THEMSELVES OF THE BODY, these we find are all under the stress of the toxic forces; the disturbance in the circulation, in the liver, the gall duct
1642-1 Page 2
and the equilibrium as produced between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous system - owing to the toxic forces in the body.
12. THEN, AS WE FIND:
13. These will require persistent application, but with the persistency and consistent activity of the body, we find that a great deal of relief may be brought, and a much nearer to normal reaction may be expected.
14. First, we find that there would be required a thorough application of the full hydrotherapy treatments; especially during this type of weather, in the environs of the body; that is:
15. Have sufficient of enemas to cleanse the colon; sufficient of massage and rubs to relax the superficial portion of the circulation. Keep these up for four weeks. The colonic irrigations should be given at least once each week, which would make four during the four weeks, see? Not too much at first, but GRADUALLY emptying the colon so that these toxic forces and this dizziness may be eliminated.
16. We may find it necessary to occasionally have the hydrotherapy treatments, even after the four weeks, as an aid for the eliminations.
17. After the four weeks of the hydrotherapy treatments (not before), we would begin with hot Castor Oil Packs over the gall duct and liver and lower abdominal area. Apply these for about an hour each day for three days.
18. Following the three days of the Packs, we would THEN have (not before) a thorough osteopathic adjustment; not too deep at once, but gradually making a correction of those subluxations in the dorsal and cervical area as indicated.
19. Then rest two days, taking two more of the Castor Oil Packs.
20. And then have ANOTHER osteopathic adjustment.
21. Continue in this manner, with the Castor Oil Packs and the osteopathic treatments, until there is a near to normal reaction of the eliminations.
22. For the inflammatory condition that arises from reflexes in the vagus center, we would use an inhalant, prepared in this manner:
23. To a 6 ounce container, that may be kept tightly corked - but so prepared that there will be a vent through the cork for the air to pass through when the inhalations are taken; or have two vents that are kept corked, you see, except when in use - add, in the order named: Pure Grain Alcohol........................4 ounces, Oil of Eucalyptus........................20 minims,
1642-1 Page 3
Rectified Creosote........................5 minims, Oil of Turp..............................10 minims, Compound of Tincture of Benzoin..........15 minims, Canadian Balsam...........................5 minims. Inhale through the nostril as well as through the throat, about twice each day; before retiring at night and upon arising of morning. Shake the solution, then inhale; taking out both small corks and inhaling through one of the vents, you see, letting the air circulate through the other - inhaling through the longer vent, or tube - see?
24. Do these.
25. Be mindful of the diet, that principally the vegetables and fruit juices - as well as vegetables and fruits as the diet - are kept. Little or no meat. No fried foods or any kind.
26. These kept, in the order and manner as indicated, we will bring - with PERSISTENCY - bettered conditions for this body.
27. Ready for questions.
28. (Q) What causes the nausea? (A) The pressure upon the stomach, especially of a morning when the body is inclined to be empty. This is regurgitation. Hence the necessity of the colon irrigations to cleanse the system from this toxic force.
29. (Q) What causes the nervous exhaustion? (A) Toxemia! Do these things as we find, that are indicated, and we will bring the better conditions for this body.
