1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, with special reference to source of infection for condition diagnosed as Arthritis. Also you will give the treatment for the help and relief of this body, answering the questions that may be asked, as I ask them, regarding her condition.
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now as we find, with special reference to the sources of infection - or the effects which cause an arthritic reaction:
4. Arthritis - as many other disturbances - is an effect of infection in the system.
5. In this body, as we find, it arises from the lack of proper glandular secretion; especially as related to reproductive forces and their activities in the system.
6. And these, if it will be remembered by the body, arise from a condition that came about with some disturbance in that direction - which the body will know better than others.
7. Then, in making all the tests, all the applications that have been made, we find that the effects of the disturbances have been treated, and palliatives used, rather than corrections being made that would aid the condition from its source - or that would make those changes in the bodily functions as would be materially helpful to an alleviation or elimination of the causes.
8. As we find, while many of the disturbances or disturbing influences have arisen from the applications made - if there will be persistent and consistent application of measures for the eradication of the causes - which naturally will require changes to be made as helpful conditions progress - we may eradicate a great deal of this disturbance, and the body have many years of service - if used as a useful
1659-1 Page 2
service - in this experience.
9. These as we find will require, first, a cleansing - as it were - of the poisons that have hindered the glandular activities of the body; thyroid, adrenals, the deeper - through the glands in the activity for assimilation, as well as those for eliminations of the activities through the influences of the lymph and the emunctory activity of the body.
10. To prevent this drawing, this drying of tissue, especially the oils and lymph - it is necessary that there be the source of supply of activity for joints as well as muscular and tendon forces, as they are associated and connected with the activity of the structural parts of the bodily force.
11. As we would find, then, in the beginning of the applications - these we would use in the manners indicated until there is given at least the second of the Baths in the manner which we will indicate. AFTER that second Bath, the second or third day after same, seek further information through this channel.
12. Begin first, then, with these:
13. Each day have a neuropathic or a general masseuse treatment. This will not always be easy. This does not mean given chiropractically, nor osteopathically, but NEUROPATHICALLY - or by a masseuse or masseur that will follow the nerves, or who knows the anatomical structure of the body sufficiently to follow the nerve ends from their source of impulse from the cerebrospinal system to the limbs - meaning the lower limbs as well as the upper where there is more of the disturbance in the present, in the arms and hands and elbows. When the massage is given, use Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh, equal portions. Heat the Oil to add the Myrrh, see? Dip the fingers in same and massage - in the manner indicated - in a NEUROPATHIC manner.
14. If there is excruciating pain at any time, in elbows, wrist or hand, encase or pack them for periods of half an hour to an hour in a saturated solution of Epsom Salts. And for the hands, (as well as using the Packs upon the hands), we would extend the Packs between the shoulders - from the 2nd cervical to the 4th and 5th dorsal. These Packs should be prepared so as to hold heat for at least twenty minutes; and when they have hardened or dried, of course - somewhat - they should be removed. These will be found to ease the conditions.
15. Begin also and take one minim (drop) of Atomidine in half a glass of water before the morning meal; every day for five days increasing the dosage one drop, you see - so that
1659-1 Page 3
on the fifth day there would be five drops taken. Then leave off for one day.
16. Then begin with a combination of Chloride of Gold and Bicarbonate of Soda. Prepare two solutions and keep separate, until ready to take the dosage - in this manner:
17. Add one grain Chloride of Gold to one ounce of Distilled Water. This would be one solution.
18. Add five grains Bicarbonate of Soda to one ounce of Distilled Water. This would be another solution.
19. Then each day for five days, take one minim of the Gold Solution and two minims of the Soda Solution, in half a glass of water.
20. Then after the five days, rest one day - that is, leave off one day.
21. Then have a Bath in a saturated solution of Epsom Salts. Lie in this for at least twenty to thirty minutes. Do not have it so hot as to weaken the body, but have it at least body temperature or a little above - or about ninety-nine or a hundred. This would be about twenty pounds of the Epsom Salts in fifty gallons of water - or a full size bath tub.
22. All during the Epsom Salts Bath, and afterwards, massage in a circular motion around the limbs, as well as across the sacral and lumbar area, and between the shoulders. This the masseur or masseuse should give, see?
23. Follow this with a brisk rubdown, adding then for the rub an equal quantity of Witchhazel, all over the body, see? a gentle massage with same.
24. Then after resting for three days, begin with the Atomidine in the same manner as before.
25. Then have the period for the Gold and Soda Solutions.
26. And after the second Epsom Salts Bath, we would give the further instructions.
27. As to diet during the period, this should carry a great deal of the salts of vegetables AND fruits - rather than meats. Never any fried foods at any time. No white bread at any time. The vegetables would be cooked in their OWN juices - that is, in Patapar Paper. The juices that come from same shall be well mixed with the vegetables themselves, so that the body gets the benefit of those; such as peas, beans, lentils, cabbage, mustard - all of those that may be cooked in that manner - with their salts as come from same - after being well washed and cooked in the Patapar Paper, but DO NOT put meat or anything of the kind in same. Season only with a little butter and sufficient salt or pepper to satisfy the appetite or to be palatable to the taste of the body.
28. As soon as obtainable, the Jerusalem artichoke should be
1659-1 Page 4
a part of the diet once each week. This would be cooked also in its own juices, or so that the juice is preserved. Do not overcook same, nor undercook.
29. Lamb, fowl or fish in moderation may be taken.
30. Not too much sweets.
31. A little of red wine as a food may be taken - this when the body feels weak, whether morning or afternoon. Do not take it with meals, but have it as a food between meals - with a little black bread or pumpernickel or rye bread.
32. Do these, and then when the SECOND of the Epsom Baths has been taken, we would give further instructions.
33. Do not do part of these and not all of same.
34. Ready for questions.
35. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (GD's Notes at the time of the Reading: See sheet [which was enclosed] of directions written separately for Masseuse or Neuropath to follow. After you get started with the treatments, let us know when the Second Epsom Salts Bath is scheduled, so we may make the appointment for your Check Reading at the time indicated.)
