Time of Reading 3:10 to 3:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, with special reference to throat and kidney condition, also suggestions for help and relief for this body; answering the questions that may be asked, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1664].

3. Now as we find, there are conditions the correction of which in the present would prevent the disturbances that occasionally arise, and would prevent a great deal of disturbance later on - and a possible constitutional disturbance that would be hard to cope with. The correction in the present would be rather easy, though it will require consistency and persistency on the part of the body.

4. We find that these conditions have to do with pressures in the cerebrospinal system, as it affects parts of the glandular system and the combination with the organic disturbances that arise from same.

5. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1664] we are speaking of, present in this room:

6. In the blood supply we find there are disturbances that indicate there are hindrances with the functioning activity in the kidneys. These we find tend to cut short the activity of the plasm that makes for supplying in the blood force the leucocyte, or the carriers within the blood stream. This not only tends to make for a form or character of anemia but, allowed to remain, would become a disturbing factor in the general condition.

7. While these disturbances with the activity of the kidneys produce the disturbance within the blood stream, we find that it is rather in the inability of impulse from pressures in the ileum plexus area that prevent activities about the functioning of the kidneys, that produce the disturbance as indicated in the blood stream.

8. This also is a nature of a glandular reaction, and as the

1664-1 Page 2

activities of the glands just above the kidneys coordinate with the glandular activity of the thyroids, these bring about that - in the coordination of these one with the other - of a sympathetic reaction.

9. Hence we find that with the alleviation of those impulses, and the balancing of the activity in the glandular forces, purifying of the blood stream, it would make for the clearing of the throat disturbance and alleviate the cause of the disturbance with the glandular forces as related to kidney functioning.

10. These at times as we find, sympathetically, cause an excess in the activities through the bladder. At others they cause a scarcity, and thus in such periods especially there are inclinations for uric forces or acids to be thrown back into the circulation - which produces the condition in the blood supply and would sooner or later affect the metabolism and the heart activity of the body, without correction.

11. To correct, then, the disturbances as relate to the functioning and to the reflexes in glandular and organic functioning, without removing the causes that have made for the inclination and the cause, would only make for a temporary relief. But in making for the removal of the causes of same, then removing the effects and obtaining the proper coordination of the glandular force and the blood supply with the eliminating system, we may bring then to normal forces for this body.

12. And in making for the accomplishment of these, as has been indicated, it would require a little bit of persistence; and especially in diet as well as in some of the activities - that may appear in the beginning to be rather just routine without apparently an effect to be obtained. But unless all are kept rather well in line with those suggestions as we find that would remove causes as well as effects, it would be better not to do ANY of that as might be suggested.

13. These then, as we find, would bring normal forces and activity for this body of [1664] we are speaking of:

14. First, we would be mindful that there are not greases or fried foods taken at ALL in the diet; and FEW of those that are the fruit of the vine - as berries or melons. These all tend to make for irritations that are hard to be controlled in a system where the activities of disturbed influences are easily exercised towards activities in an abnormal manner.

15. Then we would each evening, when ready to retire, massage thoroughly into the sacral and lumbar areas - extending to the 9th dorsal - an equal combination of Mutton

1664-1 Page 3

Suet, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. And it would be well to apply a flannel - after this has been rubbed in - that is well soaked in the solution, or the compound. This we would keep up for a week. Then leave off, and

16. Begin with osteopathic adjustments in the sacral, the lumbar plexus, and especially the ileum plexus; coordinating the 9th dorsal, the upper - or the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal, and the cervicals. But make the corrections from the LOWER portion of spine UPWARD, RATHER than from the upper portion toward the lower end, see?

17. Have three such treatments during the first week, see? that is, the first week after beginning same - for the rubs with the compound would be given the first week BEFORE beginning the osteopathic treatments, see?

18. Then, after the week of the osteopathic manipulations (in which the three treatments have been given as indicated), we would leave these off for at least THREE WEEKS!

19. During that three weeks have the rubs, as WELL as taking very small quantities of Sweet Spirits of Nitre. For the body, during that time, take three drops of the Sweet Spirits of Nitre in half a glass of water every second day, or every other day, for at least a week. Then leave off the Nitre, but keep up the rubs for the other two weeks.

20. Then begin again with the osteopathic manipulations, and these would then cover a period of at least ten to twelve treatments, see? given about twice a week then, until that number has been reached. But give all of them in the MANNER indicated.

21. Then we would find, if the normal activities are kept as to diet, the disturbances with the glandular forces as well as with the kidneys, these should have disappeared.

22. It would only be necessary then to meet the requirements of keeping near normal activity in this direction.

23. When the fullness in the throat appears at times from sympathetic reactions, we would apply the massage with the compound - the equal combination of the Mutton Tallow, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor - through those areas about the thyroid, extending down to or across the portions of the collar bone and to the V in the front, see?

24. These as we find, carried on persistently, will bring normal forces for this body, [1664].

25. Ready for questions.

26. (Q) Please suggest the diet that should be given? (A) As indicated, do not take those fruits that grow on the vine - but others may be taken. Beware of those as

1664-1 Page 4

indicated, rather than setting any of those rules of "Don't eat this," and "Don't eat that!" Just leave off the fried foods and the greases, and the fruits of the vine.

27. (Q) Do eyes need attention? (A) All of the sensory system will be materially aided with the correction of the subluxations in the cerebrospinal system. And if it is necessary for local attention, it had better be AFTER the completion of the treatments here suggested. As we find, there should NOT be the need of local treatments.

28. (Q) What is the breaking out on face and body, and what will correct it? (A) Set up the eliminations in the ways and manners indicated! This is the effect of the acids in the system - gradually entering into the superficial circulation. With the removal of the pressures, stimulating the activities for the kidneys, and coordinating the lower hepatics with the upper hepatics, we will find these conditions clearing - as well as being aided by the character of diet indicated.

29. (Q) Are tonsils infected? (A) Not necessarily to such an extent that these would not purify themselves. They are as scavengers for the system. Unless they become more infected, DO NOT have disturbance in these directions.

30. (Q) What is the cause of pus in kidneys? (A) As has been indicated.

31. (Q) What causes repeated sore throat? (A) As just indicated. This is a reflex condition, and from the activity of the glandular system.

32. (Q) What should be done for high temperature with sore throat? (A) This will not occur if these things as we have indicated are begun!

33. (Q) Will this treatment correct the enlarged gland in throat? (A) As indicated.

34. (Q) Should heat be applied to the flannel saturated in the compound? (A) Not necessary if this is massaged in thoroughly first. For remember, this is to be repeated not only for days but in some portions for WEEKS, see? and is to be a gradual, but must be a CONSISTENT, application!
