1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, with special reference to eyes; also suggestions for help and relief for this body. You will answer the questions that may be asked, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Miss [1672].

3. Now as we find, there are conditions existent in the physical forces of the body the correction of which would allow for the more normal reactions; thus relieving disturbing conditions that find manifestation in their activity upon the portions of the eyes.

4. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, Miss [1672] we are speaking of, present in this room.

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find very good in most respects. There are indications of a humor in same, that arises from the LACK of impulse from the cerebrospinal system; through a circulatory force through the head, as affects the socket and the tissue about same more than the optic nerve itself.

6. This is a mild form of catarrhal condition, and - as will be indicated - when there is the least cold or congestion the activity or use of the eyes causes MORE disturbance than when the body is free of congestion.

7. It would also be noted by the body that when there is the inclination at times for a little disturbance through the vocal cords and the throat, this also produces not only greater strain in the eyes but affects in a way and manner the auditory forces or the hearing.

8. Rather than a hindrance in the hearing, this produces noises - that at times become noticeable to the body.

9. These conditions as we find arise then from a subluxation which exists in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal centers. This subluxation has made for the lack of the flow of impulse through the nerve coordination between sympathetic and

1672-1 Page 2

cerebrospinal to the nerves of the head, as indicated.

10. Thus the slowing of the circulation from those portions of the body, allowing for accumulation of waste or dross; and thus forming that character of disturbance as indicated.

11. THROUGH THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, here we find that when there is any great anxiety, or overtaxation, the body becomes more or less inclined to be nervous, or restless; with the lack of being able to quiet the self from within.

12. These as we find arise from this incoordination between the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic system, in and through the areas that have been indicated.

13. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces, as we find, are very good. The reactions nominally are normal in impulse.

14. In the organs of the sensory system, as we have indicated, all of these at times are subject to repressions through the condition which exists that more specifically affects the socket of the eyes themselves; and this burning that occurs when there is strain or when the eyes are tired, or when there are those conditions that affect same.

15. These arise from those conditions indicated.

16. In the throat, the bronchi, the lungs, the larynx - save as a sympathetic condition these in the present are very good.

17. Heart's activity, under the disturbances - that is, the nervous condition - reacts nominally, normally.

18. The activities of the digestive forces of the body are very good; though there is a lack of the vitamins that - in the glandular forces of the digestive system - make for the creating of a great deal of resistance.

19. Thus as we find, if this nervous strain is removed from the sympathetic system, and the correction made of the conditions, we should find better resistances through the body.

20. In the functioning of the hepatic circulation, as related to the digestive forces - or pancreas, spleen and the gall duct activity and the kidneys - owing to the excesses - at times nervously we have a reaction to the lower portion of the hepatics. These also, as we find, are EFFECTS of a nervous reaction - rather than organic disturbances.

21. THEN, IN MAKING CORRECTIONS FOR THE DISTURBANCES FOR THIS BODY:

22. About once a week, until six are taken, we would have the deep adjustments osteopathically given; with specific attention to the areas of the upper dorsal and throughout the cervical system. It is not necessary that these be

1672-1 Page 3

given more than once a week, nor more than five or six - IF they are given properly!

23. Begin with the use of the head and neck exercises - morning and evening; for not necessarily more than a minute or a minute and a half. One, two to the side; one, two to the other side; one, two forward; one, two backward; one, two circle - first one way, then the other. Sit erect in the beginning, and then as the body becomes accustomed to them it is better to stand before an open window. Do not attempt to take them standing in the beginning, however, for it might cause unnecessary anxiety - from dizziness or such.

24. When the body has used the eyes in such a manner that they are tired, and burn, then we would use the OLD Irish Potato, scraped. Scrape the OLD potato (not new) and place over the eyelids (with the eyes closed, of course), sufficient as it were to fill the hollow. Place over this a gauze or bandage, and let remain for fifteen to twenty minutes. Then wash or bathe the eyes with a weak solution; as with Maurine [Murine] or the Acid wash as for baby eyes.

25. Also, every other day we would use the electrical vibrations from the Violet Ray; using a Double Eye Applicator. In the beginning do not use it more than half a minute. Place the Applicator over the eyeballs (with the eyes closed, of course) before turning on, and do not turn on too strongly in the beginning. As the use of same affects the system, the time may be increased to three quarters of a minute to a whole minute.

26. This will be found to aid in removing the disturbances, and allow the system to eliminate the excess poisons - by the use of the adjustments and treatments, and by the diet that should be kept more alkaline through the periods of the treatments.

27. Do these and as we find we will bring to this body the near normal conditions.

28. Ready for questions.

29. (Q) Will it be necessary to wear glasses? (A) Not if these suggestions are kept in the way as we have indicated; not for some years yet. Do these and we will bring the normal forces for this body, Miss [1672].
