Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Ill.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1687].
3. As we find, in giving the disturbing conditions which prevent the normal reactions in the physical forces of the body, many conditions must be taken into consideration if there would be the better or perfect understanding.
4. Then, too, the applications as we find that would be most beneficial would be corrective measures in which the body would become nominalized and thus - through the proper functioning of the system - come to normal conditions and reactions; and thus eliminate the disturbing conditions which exist in the present.
5. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, [1687] we are speaking of:
6. The body having been under great stress through the application of the mental self in studies and application, and somewhat overtaxing of the physical as well as mental self, has decreased the efficiency of the resistances in the body in such a way and manner that there has arisen a glandular deficiency.
7. This deficiency is in the manner in which the glands of the throat or thyroid and thymus are affected, in such measures that - in the attempt to supply sufficient influences to the system - there has been produced weaknesses in portions of the body from which such elements may be drawn - by the activity of the said glandular system.
8. Then this combined with the disturbances in the areas from which impulses arise from the circulation has decreased the efficiency in particular portions of the body, debilitating the system more in the weakening of the blood supply of the body.
9. The results of these deficiencies, as we find, make or
1687-1 Page 2
produce expressions through the activities of the respiratory system.
10. Hence we find in any tenseness the inclination for the body to breathe hard or to be overanxious, as it were. Thus there is the inclination for an increase in not only the pulsation but the attempt of the lymph flow through the pulmonaries and respiratory system to supply sufficient energies for the quick brain reaction in the body.
11. Through the same channels we find this is inclined to produce super or overacidity in the blood stream; this causing the body to be easily susceptible to cold or congestion in the mucous membranes of the throat, head, lungs - as indicated through one or more of these disturbances, the lymph circulation through the intestinal system has become involved. Thus some disturbance is caused through the colon and in the eliminations from the body through alimentary canal and the activities of the lower hepatic circulation.
12. Because of the ineffective, deficient or inefficient glandular supply, we find that the nails, the cuticle and the hair suffer; as to sufficient quantity and quality of the reactions in the system to produce the efficient supply.
13. The nails become brittle, thinned. The hair becomes deficient; tending to lose sufficient of the oils and the scalp reaction to produce the full or efficient manner of its activity.
14. The effect upon the blood stream is in the form of anemia, or the lack of efficient, cooperative reaction with the glandular forces of the system, especially the thyroid and thymus and - now beginning - the adrenal, or the conditions - as we find gradually coming from weakness - of a heaviness across not exactly the SMALL of the back but above and a little below the kidneys at times.
15. We find that the reactions in the nerve system have been very well balanced. As the efficiency of the mental body is above normal, these have kept oft in such an activity that the body has worked and does work or live or act upon its own nerve energies.
16. Unless measures are taken for corrections, these would gradually increase in the disturbances to the body.
17. In the functioning of the organs themselves we find that, save as to a weakness or an inclination as indicated to the glandular forces and their reaction upon the functioning of the organs, these are as yet purely reflex.
18. Hence we find, as indicated, the disturbing factors are of a glandular nature and the concurrent reflex conditions of same to the system.
1687-1 Page 3
19. Naturally, in the very nature of the disturbance, the organs of the sensory system are beginning to show the EFFECTS of the weakness; as through the eyes - that burn or hurt when there is the least strain, or too bright a light or too much shadow in which active service of same is needed.
20. The auditory forces or ears at times are, with a little congestion or weakness, affected by a little roaring or tinkling, or heaviness, or thumping in same.
21. The taste and the smell become supersensitive to odors and to conditions about same.
22. As we find, in making corrections:
23. Rather than the Thyroid which has been a part of the applications, we would change to rather the combination that will make for better assimilation - and the application of those forces in the system to coordinate and cooperate in building up the system.
24. We would use, then, the Codiron - which carries not only sufficient of the cod liver oil and iron in a form in which it may be assimilated but also the vitamins necessary to build those deficient forces in the system - if the other applications will be followed out as we will indicate. Begin at once with the Codiron; two tablets taken at the morning and evening meals. These may be swallowed or masticated with the food, as desired. Take this each day, as indicated, until at least a hundred days have been completed in taking same, see?
25. Also we would use along with same the Radio-Active Appliance as an equalizer for the impulses in the system. Take this from the very first of the applications, one hour each evening before retiring. The attachments would be alternated in this manner:
26. 1st day - the anode (or the plate coming from the pole marked to ALWAYS be attached first) would be attached to the right wrist, while the cathode (coming from the other pole, to always be attached last) would be attached to the left ankle.
27. 2nd day - first attachment would be to the left wrist, last to the right ankle.
28. 3rd day - attach first to left ankle, last to right wrist.
29. 4th day - make first attachment to right ankle, last to the left wrist.
30. Thus a circle will have been made of the body in the attachments. The first attached becomes the positive (hence the plate from the SAME pole should ALWAYS be attached first), the last attached becomes the negative.
1687-1 Page 4
31. Then commence over again. Continue in this manner for two or three weeks, leave off a week or ten days, then commence again; rotating the attachments in the manner indicated.
32. When the Appliance is attached, use such a period each day as the period for serious meditation upon spiritual things and spiritual application of the mental and material life.
33. It is necessary also for at least ten to fifteen osteopathic adjustments or manipulations, with specific directions given to the corrections needed in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area; that those inclinations may be corrected for the segments to show a flattening or a coming too close together, or an overlapping as it were in especially the 5th, 6th and 7th cervical, and in the 3rd and 4th dorsal.
34. Take these about twice each week for six to eight treatments. Then leave them off for two weeks; and then finish with six to ten more adjustments and treatments.
35. These would be begun at the very first, AS the Radio-Active Appliance is begun.
36. As to the diet; this would be an outline or an indication:
37. Mornings - take plenty of orange juice with a little lemon squeezed into each glass taken. Take this as it agrees or assimilates with the system. Leave off or change as it agrees or disagrees, but the activity of orange juice WITH lemon is well; also grapefruit and grapefruit juice.
38. Noons - preferably raw vegetables combined with oil or salad dressing. Not a great quantity of other food, though fruit juices or fruit combined may be taken at the same meal, or vegetable juices.
39. Evenings - this preferably would be the heavier meal of the day. The only meats would be fish, fowl or lamb. No fried foods at all. Do not combine spaghetti, macaroni or white potatoes, any two of these at the same meal - or white bread. Eat the jackets of the potatoes when taking these.
40. This is only an outline of the diet, but make the diet at least eighty percent alkaline to twenty percent acid-reacting.
41. Do these, and as we find we may bring the bettered condition for this body and produce normalcy in the reaction.
42. Do not use one of the treatments suggested without ALL, for they are to be combined!
43. Do these and we will bring the better conditions for the body.

44. Ready for questions.
45. (Q) Can new hair be grown so as to restore my hair to its former thickness? (A) With the corrections as indicated, we will find better conditions coming. Once a week, for a local application, use a little White Vaseline rubbed into the scalp; and cleanse same with a twenty percent solution of grain alcohol in water, see? and then any good scalp restorer, or the Wildroot or the like - once a week.
46. (Q) Since I had the flu, about one month ago, my eyes have been very tired and bloodshot. How can I relieve this? (A) By removing the tension and adding the influences and forces as indicated, that will prevent such reoccurrence - by doing those things indicated or suggested!
47. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (GD's notes at time of reading: See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Osteopath. Let us know name and address of osteopath you choose, so we may put him on our mailing list. Be sure to SEE that he gives the treatments AS suggested in the Reading. See article [which was enclosed] explaining theory of the Radio-Active Appliance. I believe Mr. [1173] used one of these, so he may be able to lend you his Appliance if he still has it. Codiron is manufactured by The Lawrence Laboratories, 725 Junior Terrace, Chicago, Ill. It comes in tablet form, and sells for $1 a bottle. See alkalin-reacting diet list [which was enclosed]. At your convenience, we would appreciate a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading. This is valuable for our files.)
