Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Illinois.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mr. [1702].

3. Now as we find, there are very definite disturbances that prevent the better normal physical functioning of the body.

4. These as we find are organic in their nature, yet of such a type and character that many of the functionings performed by the disturbed organs are lacking.

5. And the system, attempting to adjust itself, has set up disturbances that are functional in their nature. These produce rather the complications.

6. Then, these are disturbances as we find them with this body, Mr. [1702] we are speaking of:

7. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find the indications of the disturbance in the nature of the liver's functioning.

8. Hence we find there are forces and influences carried in the blood that indicate there is NOT a coordination of the eliminating channels.

9. Thus, as we find, there is a disturbance in the superficial circulation arising from the poisons that in a manner reinfect, and thus produce a condition in the cuticle, or epidermis, or the outer skin - or between the outer and the next skin, or superficial - that becomes very aggravating to the body; especially in those areas not exposed, where the emunctories are more prevalent.

10. In this reaction and connection we find also a contributory cause of the catarrhal condition, that may be said to have been the basis or first cause of these conditions.

11. Then as combined with same, the superficial injuries to the muscular forces especially in the abdomen and from the 7th, 8th and 9th dorsals have tended to aggravate the

1702-1 Page 2

condition; by producing a greater disturbance to the peristaltic movement through the intestinal tract, by congestion or lesion formed in the area, cutting off the impulse of this activity.

12. Also, as we find, this has - combined WITH the toxic forces carried in the circulatory forces - produced disturbance through the soft tissue of nasal passages.

13. At times the ears give trouble, the throat gives trouble; the body is susceptible to cold - and such inclinations naturally cause the body to be more acid than alkaline.

14. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find reflex conditions from both the superficial or sympathetic as well as the cerebrospinal system, that cause disturbance - as well as being irritated, and thus produce a greater disturbance through the pressures created, and through the activities of the irritations in those portions of the body where there are the abrasions - or the attempt of the blood supply to eliminate through the perspiratory system; thus making for the rash or the abrasions on the portions of the body.

15. These then we find make for a complication of disturbances even in the nerve system.

16. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, here we find, as indicated, the DISTURBANCE; or the organ that is disturbed and not functioning properly - the LIVER; and, of course, the gall duct area.

17. Naturally there is a SYMPATHETIC reaction through the pancreas, the spleen, and - naturally - the irritation and heaviness that is produced through the small of the back; or the attempts of the kidneys to aid in carrying off the eliminations produce an engorgement in that area. And the inclination for accumulations of a pus nature, or of a strep nature in same, causes greater disturbance at times.

18. This as combined with the other conditions produces periods when there is greater irritation; as well as does the atmospheric pressure at times. For when there are the greater quantities of ammonium in the air, these produce irritations to the pressures upon the bodily force itself.

19. As we find, these may be aided and the greater part of the disturbance eliminated; if there will be the persistent and consistent activity in the directions for making corrections in the body.

20. True, a great deal of disturbance has become in a manner constitutional. This will then bring periods when, while the body may be greatly on the improve, the cycle of reaction through the whole of the balance attempting to be kept in the system will produce apparent lapses to greater

1702-1 Page 3

disturbance.

21. This will necessitate, then, all of these conditions being met as measures ARE taken for the correction of the disturbances. These should be kept then in mind.

22. IN MAKING CORRECTIONS, THEN:

23. First we would give that there be taken the Zilatone in a consistent and regular manner. Necessity will demand that it be taken over a long period, but that during such period there be not the neglecting to cleanse the colon by taking internal baths - even with the greater eliminations with the Zilatone.

24. Begin with same then in this manner:

25. Take one tablet about thirty minutes after the morning meal, and one tablet after the noon meal. With each tablet taken, let there be taken at least a glass or glass and a half of water. In the evening take two tablets. Continue taking same in this manner, every OTHER day for at least ten days of taking same, see? that is, four tablets every other day, in the manner indicated.

26. Also every week - at least that often - use a high enema OR a colonic irrigation, to cleanse the system of the poisons and the excess accumulations; so that we may set up an activity through the functioning of the liver by the cleansing of same and by the extra secretions that are set up throughout the alimentary canal to eliminate this accumulation of poisons.

27. This will in itself tend to make for some bettering of the superficial condition. But when there is a great disturbance, use the ointment of Prescription DDD over those portions where there is a great excess of the scaly condition or eruptions on the body.

28. After the period of taking the Zilatone as indicated for ten days, and at least TWO cleansings through the alimentary canal:

29. THEN begin with the full, complete adjustments osteopathically - about six of them - along the cerebrospinal system; with special reference being given to the area from the 10th dorsal - or all the way to the 1st and 2nd cervicals.

30. Move also the lumbar axis in the latter portion of the adjustments.

31. During the period when the osteopathic adjustments are made, do not take the Zilatone more than once a day - or once every other day during the period take only the two tablets in the evening.

32. But after the six adjustments, it will be necessary for another full round of same for ten days, see - or longer.

33. In the matter of the diet, to be sure there must be taken those properties that will be consistent with the supplying of the elements necessary; that are aroused to activity through the use of such a quantity of purgative as the Zilatone taken consistently in this way indicated.

34. Throughout the period, do not take white bread. Do not take white potatoes.

35. Of mornings, have mostly citrus fruit juices or cooked cereals that are of a combination of rye and wheat - or such as Maltex, or WHOLE wheat - just so it is cooked for a long period, the crushed wheat - not sour wheat, but the crushed. But do not take cereals AND citrus fruits at the same meal! Take one one day, the other the next.

36. Let one meal each day, preferably the noon meal, be principally of raw fresh vegetables. This may include tomatoes, lettuce, celery, peppers, radishes, mustard or onions, or any or all of these. Let this be at least a part, or the principal part of one meal each day.

37. Do not take fried foods. Do not take syrups or too much sugar. Coffee or tea may be taken if so desired, but not either of these with milk or cream in same.

38. Vegetables that are of the leafy variety are preferable in the evening meal, these being well cooked. Especially celery-cabbage or red cabbage should be a part of the meal several times each week. The Jerusalem artichoke once a week is well to assist in supplying sufficient of the activity that tends to reduce the pressures upon the circulation as related to the pancreas, the kidneys, the heart. At least once a week, then, take one Jerusalem artichoke - RAW - about the size of a hen egg or duck egg. This taken raw, WELL MASTICATED, will be MOST beneficial.

39. If meats are taken - and these should be a part of the diet at times - let them be fish, fowl or lamb; but not any of these fried.

40. Do these - we may bring the better forces for this body.

41. Ready for questions.

42. (Q) I am bothered with a nasal catarrh. Does this have any effect on my skin, or my system in general? (A) The applications suggested will aid in clearing all of these conditions; also the osteopathic adjustments, and - as indicated - there will be necessitated the greater eliminations being set up after the adjustments, see?

43. (Q) My heart has been irregular. (A) As just indicated, it is a sympathetic condition; not an organic condition at all. With the adjustments, with the purifying and cleansing of the system - using the properties indicated to allay irritation - we should clear up the

1702-1 Page 5

disturbance.

44. (Q) What is condition of glandular system? (A) The liver, of course, is the larger gland. Necessarily, then, most of the glands are disturbed. But if all the suggestions indicated are carried out, consistently, persistently, we will find better conditions for the body.

45. (Q) In 1927 I suffered an abdominal injury following a severe strain, which caused sharp pains just to the left of the navel. Was there really an internal injury and could this have any effect on my present condition? (A) As we have indicated, this is a part of the whole trouble; but with adjustments, with the clearing of the system, this SHOULD in the main be cared for. There is the tendency for the scar tissue to make for strangulation. But with the manipulations, with the diet and activity, and especially the cleansing of the alimentary canal, there should be the correction made there.

46. (Q) Is the insomnia and nervousness due to the skin trouble? (A) Due to the whole general condition. All of these will be found to be greatly improved, if those activities indicated are carried out. Do that. Suggestive forces would be beneficial, but these applications we have indicated are the basic conditions; for the disturbances are ORGANIC and NECESSITATE what may be called a more strenuous reaction for this system.

47. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Osteopath.)
