1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1704].

3. Now as we find, conditions are rather disturbing with the body in the present; and the effect that is produced upon the whole nervous system, from the activity of disturbed functionings, brings to the body great distress - as is manifested in the manner of the reaction of the heart, the liver and the eliminating system.

4. These as we find arise from definite conditions that exist, but rather have the applications been for the effects than for the sources or causes of disturbance.

5. It is true that many of the organs have been weakened by the overexercising of same through the disturbing periods.

6. But these as we find may be materially aided if the applications are taken in the order and manner as we may indicate for the building.

7. These are conditions then as we find them with this body, [1704] we are speaking of:

8. In the circulatory system we find great disturbance, owing to the inclination for the slowing of the circulation in its return to the heart, liver and lungs. This becomes at times rather in the form of an expanding of the arterial circulation, yet there are sources and causes of these that have not been cared for in these recurrent conditions that arise.

9. Owing to the very nature of these obstructions, it is not to be unexpected that these make for a condition in the heart's activity that even becomes alarming at times, or that there is produced upon the return flow of the nerve impulse to the brain forces such a pressure as to cause a

1704-1 Page 2

great disturbance.

10. From this slowness we find a great deal of disturbance in the eliminating system, and the organs and the functioning of the glandular forces as related to the production of same in the bodily forces themselves.

11. The nervous system, as we have indicated, becomes greatly involved.

12. But as we find, the sources of these arise within a condition existent between those flows especially of the heart AND the liver itself; though the liver condition is such that the lack of the ability to INCLUDE the great quantity of the blood supply throws it back as it were upon the system, thus clogging the flow in its circulation.

13. It is also indicated in the very nature of the reactions, as well as in the poisons or accumulations and the lack of the excretory functioning of the liver itself, that there are spots or hardened conditions in a nature - though not hard in themselves but cellular forces where there is the little flow of the blood through same nominally in the liver.

14. Thus a great deal of disturbance is caused through the manner and character of eliminations.

15. These as we find are the disturbing forces and SOURCES of conditions with this body.

16. Then as we find, in making applications that would be most beneficial to the body in the present:

17. First we would begin with high colonic irrigations to cleanse the colon and the inclination for pressures from same, through the engorgements indicated there upon the organs of the body itself. Use a saline solution, body temperature. Do not attempt too much irrigation at once, but let such be given in two or three periods; and about three days apart. Gradually cleanse the colon with same, see, - not attempting to remove the fecal forces save a portion of same at the time. In other words, do not make the WHOLE cleansing at once!

18. After the third such colonic irrigation, and the body is well cleansed by same, we would then:

19. Apply first over the liver and gall duct area, extending also to the caecum area, a combination of three parts Laudanum to one part Aconite. Paint over this area, as it were, with this solution. Then apply IMMEDIATELY following same the Castor Oil Packs; at least three or four thicknesses of heavy flannel - not just sprinkled with the Castor Oil but dipped into same! and have this as warm as the hands can handle in dipping and wringing same out, you see. Apply such Packs directly to the skin, having same of

1704-1 Page 3

sufficient breadth and width to extend from the lower portion of the rib or a little over the edge of the rib area on the right side - so that the liver area is covered; extending to the groin on the right side and to the middle portion of the abdomen. Then apply heavy cloths over same, and THEN apply HEAT! Keep same on for at least two hours.

20. Then the body may be sponged off with lukewarm soda water.

21. After a period of six or eight or ten hours, apply same again - for almost the same period, or an hour and a half at least.

22. Then (after the second round of the Castor Oil Packs - in the order and manner indicated), give at least two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil internally.

23. Then the next day - even though these applications will have acted upon the alimentary canal - give another enema; and THIS time we will find the greater disturbances being removed.

24. After such an irrigation then, and the body has had time to rest or recuperate from the reactions - we would follow same with osteopathic manipulations, gently given at first, especially in the areas of the upper cervical and through same to the middle or 9th dorsal area. THEN manipulate or relax the lumbar and sacral axis. Have such stimulations osteopathically at least every other day.

25. In the matter of the diet, keep to those things that are easily assimilated. Not too much of fats that are hard to digest. But the body may gain strength by the use of such as Beef Juice, taken in small quantities often - and sipped; also Malted Milk with a little spirits frumenti in same - just enough to take away the taste of the yolk of an egg that would be beaten in same. Or, preferably make a Malted Milk plain, you see; beating same well together, then burn or cook the yolk of an egg in whiskey (that is, by adding the whiskey, of a pure, good quality, to the raw egg yolk, see?) and add this to the Malted Milk; again beating same thoroughly with a stirrer or the like. Do not take this in quantities at once; just in sips, the same as the Beef Juice.

26. Then keep up all of these. If it becomes necessary to repeat the Oil Packs, after four or five days, to get the proper reaction, then use same again.

27. Doing these, we find we would bring the better physical forces for this body, [1704].

28. Ready for questions.

29. (Q) Doctors report that her attacks are due to arterial cerebral Cirrhosis [sclerosis]. Is it true?

1704-1 Page 4

(A) The reflexes from these are of the nature, causing that contraction and pressure upon the nerve system. But as yet none of the areas have been BROKEN through which the circulation flows. However, unless there is a removal of the causes - through the liver area - not only the cerebrospinal system or the brain itself will be involved but there may also become a tumorous condition, or a breaking of a cell that - of course - would result in a condition of paresis of a nature. But do these, and we may bring the better forces for the body.

30. (Q) Is what way can her husband be helpful to her health and happiness? (A) By making the surroundings as pleasant as possible, and by seeing that these suggestions as here indicated are carried out.

31. We are through for the present. Copy to Husband - Special Delivery " " Ass'n file (See separate sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for: Hydrotherapist - for giving colonic irrigations; Osteopath - for giving manipulations as indicated; preparing Beef Juice; preparing Castor Oil Packs.)
