Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Maryland.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1710]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, while conditions are very good in many respects, there are still those tendencies and disturbances which exist that will require precautions; else they may later prove to be very disturbing to the body, growing into other disturbances that might cause incapacitation in activities in locomotion.

4. There are those conditions where strain has existed on the muscular forces and tendons; as through the shoulder, the side and the hip.

5. With those inclinations for acidity, through lack of the proper balance of eliminations AND the diet that tends to keep the disturbance, we find that at times the muscular forces and tendons - through the areas where the strain has existed - become supersensitive. This is because of the pressures of the refuse forces, or acidity, upon the nerve forces of the body; by the congestion of the lymph circulation through same.

6. As we find, we may the sooner eliminate the causes of these from the body if there will be those precautions not to overstrain the body - and if there will be had the regular periods of relaxation, combined with first a THOROUGH relaxation in hot water, followed with a good rubdown; and once or twice a week the thorough hydrotherapy, with steam and the hot and cold showers, and then a thorough rubdown by a masseur using the Swedish massage; not too rough, but to allow the better eliminations through all forms.

7. Then keep the diet in the proper manner, with the eliminations through alimentary canal kept in accord with those excess influences produced by the hydrotherapy in the

superficial circulation.

8. These precautions we would keep as to diet:

9. Not too much starches; that is, never combine white bread, white potatoes or spaghetti or macaroni at the same meal.

10. Never take too much of red or rare meats. Do not eat fried foods or too much grease. While the natural activities require meats at times, fish, fowl and lamb are preferable to other meats.

11. Do have raw foods at one meal each day, or at least as a part of one meal each day; such as lettuce, celery, carrots and the like.

12. Have plenty of vegetables. And eat fruits, especially pears, before retiring of mornings.

13. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) Should Alcaroid be continued? (A) If necessary. But if there are the applications made as suggested, these should take the place of much of that which has tended to cause the lack of proper assimilation. If it is necessary, take the Alcaroid when there is the feeling of indigestion or of too much greases in the digestive area. But adhere to the suggestions made as to the character of diet, and don't eat things you know you shouldn't eat and then expect to be relieved!

15. (Q) Why doesn't the growth of hair show improvement? (A) This is the natural consequence of conditions that have been in the scalp. The activity of the body shows that the glands do produce same, but getting it on the head is different! That would require more of the use of the vacuum treatment AND the stimulating of the scalp to better activity. The gland force is improved, and DOES grow hair - but not on the head so much.

16. (Q) What is the condition of my side? (A) As indicated, this is sympathetically affected by the toxic or acid condition in the system, and the strain in muscular forces. Those things indicated would be the better manner for help.

17. (Q) Are the activities at the Y.M.C.A. too strenuous? (A) Too strenuous WITH the acid in the system!

18. (Q) Considering night work from one to eight a.m., please suggest best hours for the body to get rest? (A) As soon as it is prepared, either from the treatments on those days or the good bath, go to sleep - don't run around!

19. (Q) Is the solution being used on wart in my hand helping to remove it? (A) It will if prepared in the manner as has been given. [GD's note: For removing warts, the Readings have given that there be used a solution of one drop Hydrochloric Acid C.P. to twenty drops of water. Just touch the wart with this solution, for a few minutes, every three or four days until removed. 351-1 case removed several warts by using this solution, and even her sister - who had not had a Rdg. - used it with good results.]

20. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one to Mrs. [1523]) Copy to Ass'n file (Show the Rdg. to Dr. Grace R. McMains, 411-16 Professional Bldg., 330 No. Charles St., Baltimore, Md., and get her to recommend a good physiotherapist, if she does not give the steam baths and massages as indicated. Some osteopaths use hydrotherapy, others do not. If she does not use it, she may know of a good place where you could get these treatments. Please let us have the name and address if you find it.)
