1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1710]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, in the main conditions are very good; yet there are those conditions arising which should be indications to the body of the strain under which it functions.
4. The conditions in the muscles and tendons in the shoulder, as we have indicated, were worse than if there had been broken bones alone, and it requires longer, more nursing, to bring the conditions back to normalcy. For, these muscles and tendons are in use whenever there is an activity of the body. And there is the use of energies that need to be used to rebuild the tissue which has been injured, torn, pulled. Especially is this seen in the right shoulder, the neck and head.
5. If the body lies in one position for a long time, or holds the body rigid as under a strain of any kind, it tends to produce an accumulation of used energies. And as there are the activities to build, it causes tautness, stiffness, headaches; stiffness in the neck, the eyes giving trouble, a tiredness all over; hence at times even the hands feel swollen or full.
6. These, then, require patience, persistence in taking care of same.
7. As for the present treatments for same - we find it would be better to have a daily massage - applied either by self or an associate or a masseur - when ready to rest, - following the application of wet heat - preferably over the area of the shoulder and small portion of the spinal area, along the lower cervicals and upper dorsals. Such a massage would be done with a combination of oils that would be prepared in this manner:
1710-9 Page 2
8. To 2 ounces of Usoline or Nujol, add - in the order named: Pine Oil...................1 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles......1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras.........1/4 ounce, Lanolin, dissolved.......1/2 teaspoonful. The Lanolin added will prevent too much superficial irritation, as this - with most of the other oils - will strike in. These will not mix thoroughly, but shake together before they are used. Apply immediately, while the pores are open from the application of the wet heat.
9. Occasionally - we would have a gentle osteopathic treatment, not too deep; this to relax, not stimulate; especially the areas in the cervicals and the upper dorsals.
10. These should be sufficient for bringing bettered conditions, but it will require persistence and care of self; that is: tiring the body with lack of sleep is worse than five days work without even rest. For, this is the manner in which the physical body recuperates. It should be remembered that the physical is the result of a spiritual and mental activity. And when the body, even this body, awakes from sleep it is either worse or better; dependent upon the care that has been given for the ability of the glandular forces, the digestive system, the blood supply, to have replenished the used energies through any given period.
11. The body should have at least seven and a half hours of sleep out of each twenty-four; not seven and a half out of three days, but out of each period of twenty-four hours! This IS necessary.
12. We would also use glasses when driving or when doing close work, especially of evening or whenever working under artificial light.
13. Keep the mental attitude towards constructive thinking; that is, not of "how I can get even with someone" or "how I may get ahead of somebody," but "how I may help."
14. And let the life, the living example before others, be to the glory of God and to the honor of self.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Should hydrotherapy treatments be continued; if so, how often and what should they include? (A) These have been outlined, and they are partially hydrotherapy. If there is the ability to have someone apply the wet heat and the massage as indicated, it is not necessary for other hydrotherapy treatments. If not, then go to the hydrotherapist! but this wet heat application and rub should be almost a daily occurrence, when the body goes

to rest, see? But take the rest! No use taking it if you are not going to rest!
17. (Q) Should a new formula for lense for glasses be used or would the one formula be correct? (A) We didn't change the formula, but use the glasses under the conditions as indicated.
18. (Q) Please suggest routine treatment in detail to increase growth of hair on head. (A) As given for these areas - as we have outlined. The crude oil is the best scalp massage. The suction here does not prove to be the better, with the call on the system to supply the energies. If the body were to live nominally, or normally, this would be better; but using up energies makes it bad. Then, about once a week, have a good barber or a masseuse to give the crude oil massage for the scalp, following same with White Vaseline, and then a good rub out or cleansing.
19. (Q) Please suggest mild exercise not harmful. (A) Walking, bicycling, riding, throwing a ball - any of these would be very good, but even these not overdone.
20. (Q) Any mental or spiritual advice? (A) Follow those suggestions indicated; keeping the constructive, creative forces for the body.
