This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of April, 1943, in accordance with request made by selves [1710], and wife [2803], through sister and sister-in-law, Mrs. [1523], Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Md.

1. GC: You will have before you the entities [1710], born February 26, 1915, Oceana, Va., and [2803], born January 21, 1919, N.Y. You will give a biographical sketch of their experience as Deborah and Barak in Palestine, the period of the judges; giving specific and definite information as to their activities and associations; together with the influences and urges prominent in the present from that sojourn and how they are to be met in the present. You will advise them regarding these activities and the urges and influences pertaining to their mental and spiritual development; answering the questions they submit regarding their experiences and associations. You will go into these thoroughly and give definite information that may be easily understood, paralleling the associations then with the present associates and activities.

2. EC: Yes, we have the records as indicated through these channels, as well as that which is a part of the record of the judges of Israel.

3. As indicated there, they each had their definite activities; Deborah as the elder in the experience, and the prophetess - thus raised to a power or authority as a judge in Israel; to whom the people of the various groups, of that particular portion of Israel, went for the settling of their problems pertaining to their relationships one to another.

4. With the periods in which the peoples of the adjoining countries made war upon Israel, or that part of same, the people then appealed to the entity Deborah - in the capacity as spokesman, for the spiritual and mental welfare of the peoples, to select one or to act herself in the capacity as the leader in the defense of the lands.

5. Then did the entity Deborah appoint or call Barak to become the leader in the armed forces against the powers of Sisera. These are the outstanding portions as presented in Holy

6. As to the activities - these, as may be interpreted from same, were close in their associations, in their respect one for the other as to their abilities in given activities respecting the defense of the principles as well as the lands of the peoples.

7. Deborah, as given, was much older in years in the experience, and a prophetess - being a mother and the wife of one of the elders in that particular portion of Israel.

8. Those activities together, then, were as related to the mental, the spiritual and the material welfare of the peoples as a whole.

9. As to the activities of Barak in those periods - there was something like some twelve years variation in the ages. Barak was also a family man, of the same tribe - though not of the same household as Deborah. Their activities, then, brought only the respect one for the other in their associations, their dealings and relationships with others.

10. In paralleling, or in the application of the lessons as may be drawn from those experiences in the material plane, - these in the present make for more than the purely material attraction one for the other. For, the mental and the spiritual become not only a part of the heart or soul of each, but of their relationships as dependencies one upon the other, that are to be taken into consideration.

11. To be sure, there are latent urges in the experience, or in the consciousness of each; yet these - as related to this experience in the present - if they are but stressed in their dealings one with another, in their relationships one to another, in their activities and relationships with others - will insure their own joy, their own happiness, their own well-being physically and mentally, and will also keep them in that straight and narrow way that is pleasing to the consciousness within that brings the awareness of being at-one with the Creative Forces - in relationship to activities one with another, and with those with whom they may come in contact from time to time.

12. Then, keep that experience well in mind, as to what each contributed in the experience to the welfare of the other, as to their dealings with and the effort to keep those awarenesses in the experiences of others, as to the promises of the Creative Forces, or God, to those who would seek to serve Him.

13. Beware that there is not the attempt on the part of either to dictate to the other, but rather in a singleness of purpose may they, together, make manifest in their own experiences that consciousness that was manifested by those

promptings through that experience.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) As given, [1710]'s activities in the present may become as a service related to state and nation. What type of activity is indicated? (A) Depending upon the application of self. In those directions in which the promptings carry the entity in relationship to same.

16. (Q) About when should [1710] expect such a change to take place? (A) When he prepares for same, and as he prepares for same. This does not indicate that he is going to be a lord or judge or principal or the like, but the contribution such as was made by Barak - which was not as an authority over anyone, but as a director, as a leader for a PRINCIPLE, a purpose, an ideal - UNDER and THROUGH the direction of a servant of God! Get the difference in these. This is not applying to materiality, not applying to material things, but to that having to do with the basic principles of why and how men think and act, in their home, in their relationships to their fellow man! This is spiritual, NOT material.

17. (Q) What causes the fears and nightmares [2803] experiences when left alone at night, and how may she overcome this condition? (A) This should be considered in the material or the physical approach. But if there is the paralleling of that which prompted the individual entity in that experience to call Barak to lead - out of reason, not in its own family - nor in its own household, nor its own brethren, nor its own husband - it will be seen how that criticism was brought at the time. Parallel same for an experience if there were to be such activities in the present, and we will see there is an innate fear when not in the protection of that choice made, see? Then, the way and manner to overcome - it is not a physical thing but a psychological. Know in Whom you have believed, and that the faith is not in the man alone but in the principle for which he stands - as the love manifested or expressed for an ideal brought forth in the relationships manifested in the present.

And with these understandings, these interpretings - in WHOM is the trust now to be made? In [1710], or in God? In thyself and thy relationship to God, or the fear as to what somebody else will say?

18. (Q) In what relationship, name and activity, was [1710] associated with his sister, [1523] and what are the urges in the present? (A) We haven't [1523] in Deborah and Barak! We have had relationships indicated in other experiences in the world - shall we go to those or shall we conclude this?
