Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1724].

3. As we find, disturbances which arise have to do with the digestive and the assimilating system; also the effects produced upon the general system by these reactionary conditions - which first arose or were caused by the effects of intestinal flu.

4. These are the conditions then as we find them with this body, [1724].

5. The blood supply indicates the nature or character of disturbance through the manner in which it is affected; at times more than others, owing to the periods when the activities by the assimilating forces supply greater energies or vitality to the body.

6. At other periods there is a great deal of disturbance through the stomach, duodenum and throughout the intestinal system. And this at such times reduces the vitality and strength, as well as causing a great deal of anxiety and inconvenience to the body. It reduces the supply of the blood forces, as well as affects - of course - the nerve energies; and the anxieties through the mental forces also affect the nervous system.

7. Hence we have those reactions at such periods when rather a nervous condition is the result of the general disturbance.

8. In the functioning of the organs themselves, we find, as indicated, the condition may be termed the after effects of the flu - or a deep, heavy cold wherein the mucous membranes and the lymph and emunctory circulations through the intestinal tract, and as affecting the organs of assimilation and digestion, all became involved.

9. Hence we find at times there is almost a closing of the

1724-1 Page 2

portion of the duodenum through which there is the emptying into the jejunum.

10. All of these cause a great anxiety.

11. Also reflexes are produced, of course, upon all the activities of the system through the digestive forces. Hence ALL the organs of assimilation become involved at times, - as the activity of the liver, the spleen, the pancreas; as well as the eliminating forces and the excess condition for the activity of the kidneys, of course, in carrying off the disturbing forces.

12. These as we find are the disturbing conditions.

13. There has not been produced as yet a condition of the nature of lacerations or ulcerations in the pyloric end of the stomach itself, but there is more of a catarrhal and a thickening condition in the duodenum and the pylorus.

14. All of these, of course, are then disturbed by the cycle of reaction produced by excesses of acidity and the lack of the proper activity upon the chyle or the digestive forces, and a balance between the lacteals and the acid forces of the digestive force.

15. As we find, for bringing about the bettered conditions for the body:

16. First, precautions should be taken as to the diet, - that there is kept a well-balance in the acidity and the alkalinity of the body.

17. Whenever there is the feeling of fullness in the stomach after a meal, take Alcaroid as an aid to the digestive forces. Not too large a quantity, but a quarter teaspoonful or less, first dissolved in a small quantity of water and then a large quantity added, or the glass filled, and then a second glass of water taken afterward. This will tend to make for keeping of an alkalinity and a better balance through the bodily forces themselves. The fullness may occur often, or - with the use or application of these suggestions - it may get farther and farther apart, and should. But take the Alcaroid whenever there is the feeling of fullness.

18. Use Hydrotherapy as the means of eliminating the disturbance; that is, at least once a month have a good high colonic irrigation, with a THOROUGH workout after same, including the stimulation of all the centers along the spine. And especially at such treatments have an electrotherapy treatment also, that will make for the stimulation for the activities to the system especially across the stomach, the diaphragm and the centers in the cerebrospinal system from which the organs of assimilation and digestion receive their impulse. This had best be given

where it is done by applying the hands upon the body, see, - under such as at Reilly's.

19. Do these things and, being mindful and careful, we should eliminate these disturbances from the body.

20. Ready for questions.

21. (Q) What should the diet be? (A) As just indicated, keep a well-balanced diet. This will depend upon the ability of the body to assimilate, see? And whenever there is a great anxiety or stress, do not eat especially apples raw nor bananas nor fruits of that nature which are acid-producing, but rather use the easily assimilated foods. Not too much white bread, not too much of meats - and never fried foods.

22. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (11/2/38 GD's note: See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Hydrotherapist. At your convenience we would appreciate having a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading. This is valuable for our files.)
