1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions; also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body and those anxieties of the mother respecting this body and the developing of the hindrance in the locomotion from conditions existent in the left side which prevent the proper nutriment to the right limb - thus causing the inclination for the deformity.

3. In the general physical conditions we find there is a deficiency of calcium, owing to the attempts of the system to supply sufficient of those elements in the body or structural building.

4. This as we find may be best materially aided by the supplying of this element in the foods, and especially in those that carry sufficient quantity of such as may be easily assimilated by the body.

5. But without the use of a regular massage AND an oil or food value to those affected portions, this would not be so well.

6. Hence as we find we would use alternately a massage one evening with Olive Oil and the next with Cocoa Butter; doing this for five to ten minutes, a rub from the hip and sacral area all the way to the toe, especially on the limb that is hindered in development - massaging all that the body will absorb. To be sure, sponge off the body first with hot water, so that the skin will absorb the properties more readily. After the body has been thoroughly massaged and

has absorbed all it will, then rub off with a soft tissue. One evening use the Olive Oil, the next evening the Cocoa Butter. Each time before the application the body may be sponged with the hot water, or hot applications may be wrapped about the body, to open the pores.

7. After each treatment - each evening, you see - we would use the Violet Ray (hand machine, bulb applicator) from the base of the brain to the end of the spine; then especially across the sacral and lumbar area; then GENTLY down the whole of BOTH limbs out, to be sure, more upon that afflicted one. This would be used for about a minute to a minute and a half to two minutes, for the whole treatment, you see; after the massage each evening.

8. Keep these up for at least six to eight weeks.

9. THEN have at least eight to ten osteopathic adjustments, and the inclination to loosen the muscular forces all the way. These would be given with a general treatment, and particular emphasis upon the lumbar and sacral axis.

10. When the adjustments are being made, it will not be necessary that the massages with the oils be given as often; then only once or twice a week.

11. But after six or eight adjustments, we would then begin with the rubs each day as first indicated; commencing over again, you see, and going through the whole procedure.

12. Do this for at least two or three periods or rounds, including all; and we will find much better general health, as well as much better use of the limb deficient in activity.

13. DO NOT have operative measure until these have been carried out for at least two or three periods - that is, until these have been given the opportunity to show the response.

14. In the general diet, the better manner of adding the calcium would be through small quantities each day of Calcios; preferably at the evening meal; just a thin covering upon a whole wheat wafer, once each day - as much as upon the point of a case knife or dinner knife.

15. The principal foods should be - of they are meats - fish and fowl, and especially this cooked in such a manner that the ends of the small bones in same may be chewed by the body, see? Then such as beans, lentils, red cabbage and sweet potatoes should form a part of the diet. Green vegetables should be a portion of the meal each day; lettuce, celery, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes, carrots - any or all of these, with an oil dressing or mayonnaise.

16. Ready for questions.

17. (Q) What is the general physical condition constitutionally?

1785-1 Page 3

(A) As indicated, weak in the supplying forces for blood building.

18. (Q) Should an electric vibrator be used on his right foot and leg? (A) As indicated, use the Violet Ray for about a minute and a half to two minutes each evening following the massage.

19. (Q) Is it possible to improve the foot condition without aid from a doctor, which has already cost so much? (A) As has been indicated.

20. (Q) What drinks should be taken at meals? (A) Cereal drinks, or milk. Cereal drinks such as cocoa or cocomalt, or malted milk; or straight milk.

21. We are through for the present. Copy to Mother " " Ass'n file (See copy of directions [which was enclosed] for Osteopath, when you are ready for his treatments. We would refer you to Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., N.Y. City. Calcios is manufactured by the Colloidal Health Products Corp., Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y. It is said to be the best way of taking free calcium into the system, and is easily assimilated. It comes in a syrupy paste, and sells for $2.50 a jar. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of this case to the time of obtaining the Reading. This is valuable for our files, so that we may have something with which to compare the information in the Reading.) g.)
