Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:40 A. M.
1. GC: You will have before you the work and plans of the Health Home Remedies Co., members of which are present here in this room. We seek at this time guidance in carrying forward the work of the company, and information regarding the formulas of Ipsab and Tim. You will answer questions.
2. EC: Yes, we have the members of the Health Home Remedies Company, also the products they desire to distribute through this organization, with the formulas of the two properties that are under consideration in the present.
3. First, in giving that as we find that may be helpful to all concerned in the present, we will consider first the formulas that are used in the preparation of the properties. As we find, these are in line with that which will bring the desired results in the experience of individuals that may apply or use same for those conditions that have been of a disturbing nature in the experience of mankind for ages.
4. That lacking in Ipsab in the present, then, is this: There is not sufficient of the Calcium Chloride in the solution when these properties are added. Add the Atomidine when the solution is at normal temperature. If Tincture of Iodine is used, add at the near boiling point - and you will rectify much of that which is less active in the properties. If the atomic iodine is used, then add when the solution is less than ninety-eight (98) degrees in temperature.
5. The Calcium Chloride should be put into the solution not before the using of the sea water with the properties, but afterwards - but must be used as in the boiling point, or boiled with the solution from the toothache bark. Then it makes for a combination or an element, by the loosening of the atomic forces with same that becomes more effective with the other properties that have been given, as they are added.
6. As to that which may be given respecting the effect of this solution upon disorders that arise in the gums and in
1800-21 Page 2
the enamel of the teeth themselves: It is known by scientific research (or so called scientific research) that the accumulations of the film (or you may use, of course, if so desired, the technical name of same - if you desire to be impressive or appear to be verbose in thine own expression of thine knowledge; but better use it in the plain words and let ALL understand) upon the teeth and gums are through the use of cooked and soft food, more by the very fact or act of using very hot and very cold foods or properties in the mouth of an individual. For nature attempts to protect the enamel and the gums themselves from such sudden changes. And this accumulation of foods makes the acids in the system. For we know by the proper tests that the secretions of the salivary glands are of an alkalin nature, and these are turned by the accumulations of decaying or changing food values - or the film's accumulations upon the gums and teeth. Thus there is made place for the germ of what is called Pyorrhea, Rigg's Disease, or such conditions that gradually arise in the mouth. First there is produced an irritation that makes for the loosening of the gum from the enamel. Then there is the accumulation of these same particles of film, and of those secretions that arise in the mouth, just below the edge of the gums; as the heat and cold that arise from the mastication of that taken - or that drunk by a body - makes for the accumulation of these under the edge of the gum itself, where the enamel is not protected so much as that which is in active use by the mastication of foods.
7. Now, in the very nature of the teeth, the enamel of same is a secretion of the body itself; as also are the toe nails, the finger nails, the hair of the head, the hair of the body, and the cuticle itself; that ability of the body through any portion where irritation may come - as we find in the hands of those who toil with tools, these are those things that must be created by the body itself. And it should be considered by all: There is no greater factory in the universe than that in a human body in its natural, normal reacting state. For there are those machines or glands within the body capable of producing, from the very air or water and the food values taken into the body, to take from or to reproduce ANY element AT ALL that is KNOWN in the material world!
8. What happens when there are those excesses of heat and cold, by the use of hot foods or cold foods; cold drinks more especially, or hot drinks? There is the attack first upon the thin edges of the film of the tissue of the gums themselves.
1800-21 Page 3
9. Now, in most conditions, especially where the individuals are not kept in an equal balance of the elements within the system itself to produce those activities within the glands that secrete or make for conditions within the body itself for the production of those things that produce the constant growth in same, they break down!
10. Now, with the Ipsab, we are adding to that, in a systematic way and manner in the body, which will supply to the mucous membranes of the glands themselves - that are acted upon by the glands of the secretions in the mouth, or those ducts that make for the conditions. That is why, then, it is seen, that with the use of this combination or compound as we find in Ipsab, when properly put together, we have those elements that supply to those ducts and glands and secretions within the mouth those elements to call for or produce the better activity within the system, that will bring about the action of those glands that will secrete and keep those conditions within the mouth itself or the teeth, that are GROWN within the BODY itself! So, we not only add to the ability of the system to BUILD these conditions within the mouth, but there are those properties in one of the elements that are destructive (combined with the Calcium Chloride and the elements of the vegetable forces) to the secretions that arise by this activity of acid in an alkalin reacting condition, to bring about not only the destruction but to produce in the mouth a normal, healthy condition in same.
11. Then, this is what happens when Ipsab is used where a mouth indicates that there is the bleeding or the receding, or the activity of properties in the system. First: The properties in same act upon the defective conditions to produce a cleansing, and an attacking of the influences that make for the conditions that are destructive to enamel and to the tissue itself. Also there is a stimulation to the glands, that make for an activity in the system itself to produce a greater activity in the direction that will overcome those conditions in the system. So, if these properties are used in a consistent way and manner, we will bring to such a body a normal, HEALTHY condition in the mouth; PROVIDED, to be sure, that the condition does not arise from some more subtle cause in other portions of the body, or that there is not taken such properties as iron in certain states, or lead, or copper, to make for destructive forces to the enamel itself, or of the glands in the system.
12. Then, in making preparations for the distribution, for the activities of those associated or interested, first there should be this as their ideal: The supplying is for
1800-21 Page 4
the BENEFIT, for the health of those of the fellow man. And in supplying this there should naturally come that remuneration from such activities. For the laborer should ever be worthy of his hire, as in EVERY experience in man's activity. Then, as we find, when we have made those preparations for the distribution, first we would seek through ANY place, condition or experience where the public may be acquainted with that which is of a helpful nature to those disturbed with conditions of this kind, or where preventative measures may be taken. You should sell as much for preventing the condition as you do for those that already have it! Then becomes the presenting of same directly to the public. Then the distribution of same through those channels or those places where they are accorded, or through the drug store - a real drug store, not an eating counter!
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Would it be possible to boil the sea water down to a density sufficient to keep from having to add more salt to the solution? (A) It's possible, but would be more expensive. The quantity we would add - of ordinary sea water - would be: To a gallon add two ounces of salt.
15. (Q) Should this salt be added to the sea water before the bark is boiled in? (A) As has been given.
16. (Q) Should this be added while bark is still in the solution, or after same is taken out? (A) It has been given; but that we may be sure: When there is taken the quantity that has been outlined for the bark - the sea water, as to that which has just been given, add the AMOUNT! Then boil it all together, if it's sought to!
17. (Q) What quantity of bark and sea water would you suggest? (A) As has been given.
18. (Q) Can the Ipsab which I hold in my hand be made suitable for use? (A) With the addition of Calcium Chloride - but it will have to be at the heat, boiling point, when added.
19. (Q) Would you suggest any changes or additions to the copy of the pamphlet, which I hold in my hand, to be used in the individual cartons and for general distribution? [See 1800-21, Par. R2.] (A) Very good. We wouldn't change it in the present.
20. (Q) Describe and, if possible, name the germ - or germs - causing pyorrhea. (A) It has just been given as to how it attacks. The germ - well, if you would have a bedbug, it's just about that
1800-21 Page 5
size and shape if you give him longer legs on the three sides of him! And the manner in which it attacks is as indicated, first to those portions where - with the activities of the sudden changes in the mouth - it accumulates through the activity of the ACID, in an ALKALIN condition!
21. (Q) Can this germ be isolated? (A) Read what has been given on this! There's pages of it! You have it!
22. (Q) Is there a name for this germ? (A) It hasn't been separated as yet, or isolated.
23. (Q) Would it be possible for us to direct a chemist as to how to isolate and kill this germ with Ipsab? (A) It is possible. It would be necessary to - yes, you can use Doren [?] [Jos. L. Dorion? See 1800-21, Par. R10--R13.] if you so desire, in Detroit - you'll be there next Spring! And take where pus is forming, through those activities of such conditions - where pus and blood has formed. This we would take in those foods that are as accumulations in any ordinary mouth, and infect them with these, and then through the microscopic examination we will bring them sufficiently to life; keeping them, or this activity, under a temperature that is that of a normal mouth - which would be ninety-eight and seven-tenths (98 & 7/10) degrees of heat, keeping it in this form, and we can raise one of them so it'll be a pretty good nice one! It is necessary, of course, to supply the foods which will be of the nature indicated; that is, must be both of the acids that form from the foods and of those from the alkalin secretions in the mouth, or from the salivary glands, see? [In re Dorion see Max Sidelman ltrs., 1800-21, Par. R10--R13.]
24. (Q) In distributing Ipsab, how many individuals should we start out with the product? (A) At least have one, and then you'll have a start! The more, of course - depends upon the abilities!
25. (Q) Regarding Tim - (A) (Interrupting) Let's finish with Ipsab - we have just got one started! In presenting, have your own sales talk. NOT as that printed on the pamphlet, but that known from the accumulations of all those who have made and do make toothpastes that are used as cleansing materials for this film upon the gums themselves. From such research you may obtain all of that which is ALREADY known respecting film and its effect and the activities of same in a laboratory. But when this is used (the Ipsab), it is not in defiance of any of those toothpastes that are on the market. Of course,
1800-21 Page 6
there are those that would work better with the Ipsab - and there may be eventually with this association, associated or combined with it - for they are products of it; that is, Ipana, for it carries a portion of the products, but NOT the destructive force of the germ itself, see? Then, through those very laboratories there may be obtained that which would be the talking, or a sales talk to those whom this may be presented. But in the distribution we would do it through those channels organized for such things. Be the manufacturers and distributors, and create the demand for it! Regarding Tim, as we find, in this there is only one change that we would suggest - and that would be: In the preparation and the distribution of same, it may be put into TWO kinds of containers. For this particular product it will require, not as in Piso's [?] [GD's note: We never could find a hemorrhoid salve called Piso's, so we assumed that he was referring to Pazo's Ointment for Hemorrhoids.], where the collapsible tube with the nozzle for the insertion, for the blind or bleeding hemorrhoids or piles, may be used. For in the Piso's [?] this is tinfoil; while if Tim is to be used in this way and manner it will require rather the leadfoil, which is not very much more expensive but may be used as the means for the better application for certain types of conditions; where there are those of a protruding nature, of course, the local or the regular application is that which may be put in the china, while with those that are of the nature where they arise from those conditions, that come from secretion of another gland - where irritations are produced in the system from same - these require that they be injected nearer to the sources of the conditions that arise, and these may need such a tube. The distribution of this may be done in the same way and manner as the Ipsab. While it is not necessary that it be made such a talking point, when data or leaflet are left, put them together - doesn't cost any more - and the same distributing point. If you start in and have an order for a dozen or twenty bottles of the Ipsab, and a dozen of the ointment or Tim, you'll be able to double the same in the drug store! This will remain true throughout. And it's a very poor salesman that wouldn't be able to put out half a dozen to ten bottles of each every day!
