Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1808].

3. Now as we find, there is rather the complication of disturbances as prevent the normal activity in the physical forces of this body.

4. Yet we find - if there is a consistent application of suggestions as may be made here, and with the keeping of the attitudes as at present exist with the body; while it will be necessary to change in the forms of application as physical conditions develop - we may bring a near to normal reaction, with the abilities to fulfillthose desires towards having or bringing into existence offspring.

5. The basis or primary cause exists with the disturbance in the organs of the pelvis; and the effect of same upon the nervous system, and strain produced by this nervousness, has caused and does cause in the present the basis of the disturbance - with those contributory causes, as the conditions through throat, lungs, which contribute also to the general debilitation of the system.

6. These then are conditions as we find them with this body, [1808].

7. The blood supply is weakened, owing to the great nerve tension, as well as the inability to rebuild owing to the disturbance in the pulmonary system; though this disturbance is more from nervousness than from any organic condition, or the effect or presence of foreign disturbances or infectious forces.

8. However, inflammation does exist.

9. This hinders the blood stream from being perfectly purified in the activities of the circulation through same. THIS becomes contributory to the general condition.

10. The nervous system is a cause and an effect of much of

1808-1 Page 2

the disturbances.

11. As we find, in times back there was a tear, or the breaking of tissue in the pelvic system, or in the vagina area. This, followed by cold and congestion in the form of neuralgal [neuralgic?] conditions or reactions, has caused the inclination for this tissue to become engorged; thus causing a form of lymph tumor.

12. This is not malignant, nor in any nature tending to such, unless there are infectious forces from some other source.

13. This is the basis or cause of the general debilitation through the nervous system.

14. Hence these two primary causes, and yet contributory from the disturbances in each, produce the influences that bring about the disturbing forces with this body of [1808].

15. Then, in and through the first series of applications for helpful forces, there must be those administrations that will tend to alleviate those disturbances in the pulmonary system, or the pulmonary circulatory system; that the alleviation of the disturbance through the pelvic system, and with the better assimilation, through better circulatory forces, may allow the body to gradually build back to a better NORMAL condition.

16. These applications, then, will be in the form of CORRECTIVES and PREVENTATIVES:

17. First,

18. We would have adjustments osteopathically made to alleviate those lesions as will be found that are formed in the cervical, the upper dorsal and through the lumbar and sacral areas. These should be taken in series; twice a week for three weeks, then a rest period from them for a week, and then taken again for three weeks. And after that we would give the further instructions for the MANNER of corrections osteopathically, and as to their nature.

19. We would also begin with the taking of douches that would carry Atomidine as a purifying and a corrective and preventative agent. These are to be taken not too hot, but rather body-temperature; the proportions being a teaspoonful NEARLY full of the commercial strength Atomidine to the quart and a half of water - body-temperature. Use a Fountain Syringe, and not that of the nature that would be as the rotary or pressing nature, or pump. These are to be taken, you see, on the days or evenings AFTER the manipulations or corrections are given. Not the same day, but day AFTER, see?

20. We would also use an inhalant prepared in the manner as we will give here, for the throat, bronchi and lung

1808-1 Page 3

disturbance; which will ease and aid in clarifying and purifying the tissue in the bronchi, larynx and lungs, as well as nasal passages.

21. Prepare the inhalant in a large mouth, colored bottle, six ounces or the like as to its quantity; though prepare TWO entrances or vents. Neither of the tubes inserted (of glass) are to touch the solution, but are to extend into the space above the solution. These would be kept tightly corked, save when they are to be used for inhaling the fumes. The solution would be prepared in this manner, and add the ingredients AS they are given:

22. To 4 ounces of Grain Alcohol (at least 80% strength), add - IN THE ORDER NAMED: Oil of Eucalyptus...............20 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin....15 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp............5 minims, Tolu in Solution................10 minims. Shake the solution well before the fumes are to be inhaled, either into throat or nasal passages or both - to the lungs; once or twice a day, or if there is the inclination to cough in the evening there may be a whiff or one inhalation taken every few minutes, or until the cough is allayed.

23. As to the diet: This should be of body-strengthening foods. Plenty of Beef Juice; not broths but taken rather as medicine; at least three to four times a day, or between the meals, but Small quantities; a teaspoonful at the dose SIPPED, not taken as a mouthful and gulped, but SIPPED! Take a minute or two in taking this quantity. Prepare it at least every other day, and during the day take three or four teaspoonsful of this.

24. Whole wheat as a grain - crushed or rolled or cracked, but cooked a long time - taken with milk or cream once a day will supply the iron as well as other elements necessary for better eliminations.

25. Have at least one or two evacuations of the alimentary canal each day. If necessary use the high enemas to evacuate the colon. These would be body-temperature, and always with a saline solution - that is, a heaping teaspoonful of salt and a level teaspoonful of soda to each quart of water used. These, too, would preferably be given with the Fountain Syringe or the like.

26. It is well that fish, fowl and lamb be used as the meats - if such are taken.

27. No fried foods, preferably.

28. Eggs are very well to be taken, if they are palatable to

1808-1 Page 4

the body. The egg yolk may be taken with a little spirits frumenti; this cooked by the teaspoonful of the spirits frumenti being stirred with the raw egg yolk, with a little sugar in same, then milk added to make a glassful; this would be very well once a day or two or three times a week, dependent upon the reaction of this upon the system.

29. The scarcity of the menstrual flow should not disturb the body - until there is more strength and vitality built up.

30. Take Codiron with one of the meals each day; two pellets of same. This would be taken consistently, continuously, especially through the winter, or until the next suggestions would be given through this channel.

31. To be sure, do not use the douches DURING the menstrual period.

32. Do these in the manner and the order indicated, until the second series of the manipulations and adjustments have been given, see?

33. Through the rest period between the two series of osteopathic treatments it would be well that at least one of the douches be taken, IF this does not come during the menstrual period.

34. After the second of the series of the manipulations and adjustments (and we would advise Dobbins), we would give further instructions.

35. Ready for questions.

36. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (2/1/39 GD's notes: See directions [which were enclosed] for making Pure Beef Juice. See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Osteopath, also for Druggist. Codiron is manufactured by The Lawrence Laboratories, Chicago, Ill. It sells for $1 a bottle of 60 tablets, $3 a bottle of 250 tablets. Let us know about a week BEFORE you have finished with your last series of treatments suggested, so we may make an appointment for your Check Physical Reading in time to give further suggestions.) .)
