Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: We have the body here.
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which hinder or prevent the better normal functioning of the body.
4. While apparently these are specific in their nature, we find that the disturbance is more of a constitutional nature in the present; though arising from a specific disturbance, - that has hindered and does hinder the better normal development.
5. These conditions, as we find, may be materially aided, if they are considered from this standpoint or direction - as may be found by the closer examination in these directions.
6. As we find, then:
7. There has been, when much younger, a disturbance in the lumbar-sacral areas, especially disturbing the kidney activity. This pressure has caused a disturbance to the nerve forces and centers to the optic force, especially to the right eye - though some in both.
8. The natural growth of the body, and the attempt of the system to adjust itself, has brought about the specific as well as the general conditions which have existed and do exist.
9. Then, we would first begin with treatments osteopathically given, twice a week for about two months, to adjust the disturbance through the coccyx, sacral, lumbar and from the 9th dorsal down; stimulating or coordinating especially the upper dorsal and throughout the vegetative nerve system for drainages FROM the eye and head and neck area, see?
10. AFTER such a period (not before) we would have the very low electrical forces applied directly to the eye itself, in the same manner almost as administered for others where such

types of treatments have been indicated through this channel. [GD's note: See case [773], etc.] This is the lens that fits over the eye itself and eyeball; and a very low form of electricity that aids in stimulating the drainages.
11. If this is done, then, in the manner indicated, we may bring not only a better condition for the optic forces but relieve much of the nerve tensions which have existed through the system from the natural inclination for the body to feel it is not able to be as active as others; and relieving these disturbances in this manner, we may bring the better forces and influences for this body.
12. Do that.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Any special diet suggested? (A) As we find, we would keep rather to the near normal diet, but not too much sweets to be sure, except those from fruits, nuts and vegetables, though a little honey may be taken at times. Plenty of bread may be eaten if it is not altogether the white NOR altogether the whole wheat or brown bread, but rather a well balanced mixture.
15. (Q) Who would be suggested to give the osteopathic treatments? (A) Anyone in sympathy with such information, and who would follow same to look FOR the conditions indicated, knowing what the disturbances are and how they are affected from the areas given; or Dobbins.
16. (Q) Who would be advised to give the electrical treatments? (A) Anyone in sympathy with such advice as here indicated, or who uses this special type of electrical appliance, see?
17. (Q) As Erlanger in New York? (A) That's the type. Erlanger would be very well.
18. (Q) Will this treatment restore vision to the right eye? (A) That's what we are trying to do! Do these things as we find - but they must be considered as a WHOLE, and not making application for the clearing of the vision without giving the abilities for drainages through the system from those things that cause same; for this has become a combination of disturbances where cold and congestion have existed. And it is NOT, then, an atrophy or an attack upon the optic nerve itself.
19. We are through for the present. Copy to Father " " Ass'n file (2/11/39 GD's note: See extra sheet of directions [which

was enclosed] for Osteopath. We would refer you to: Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., New York City. See extra notation [which was enclosed] to one giving electrical treatment, AFTER the two months of osteopathic treatments have been completed.. We would refer you to: Dr. Gustav Erlanger, 20 West 77th St., N.Y.C. These two Physicians are the ones who treated little [773], son of Mr. [257] and Mrs. [903], according to directions given in his reading. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of this case to the time of obtaining the reading. This is valuable for our records, so that we may have something with which to compare our information.) .)
