1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; giving a physical and mental reading, telling us how to correct the condition of his right eye, and advise as to his mental development. You will answer the questions which may be asked, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now, as we find, there are general physical conditions that need correction; and there are specific disturbances that make for hindrances in physical reactions towards normalcy.
4. These have to do with first the general eliminations as related to the abilities of the body for assimilation, and then for the specific conditions from an injury and also from a condition in the eyesight.
5. As we find, these suggestions followed carefully, as we give same, may bring a great deal of help toward correcting the conditions which exist; and aid in making a great deal more normal sight in the right eye - if not at least sixty to eighty percent better sight in same.
6. These are conditions as we find them with this body:
7. In the blood supply, as indicated, there needs to be a better activity through the assimilating and eliminating forces of the body. While these are a contributory cause, they are rather the hindrance to better corrections rather than CAUSES of the disturbance of the specific nature indicated. However, with the corrections of the general disturbance through the blood supply, the nerve energies, the building of more resistance in the body, these all will make for then general conditions towards CORRECTIVE forces, - and, as the specific applications are made, will bring about the better influences or forces for the body.
8. As to the mental attitudes of the body - of course, much
1844-1 Page 2
will depend upon the sincerity, the consistency, and the faithful activity with which those things suggested are followed.
9. And because there is not the IMMEDIATE recuperative forces, the body must not become disturbed but be in a prayerful, meditative attitude consistent with the applications; and we will find a great deal of help for the body.
10. First, then, we would begin with these:
11. Begin with the general osteopathic manipulations and adjustments for the setting up of better drainages and better eliminations through the general functionings of the system; these with special reference being given to drainages being set up in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area, and especially in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th cervical, see? with a GENERAL treatment from those areas to the end of the spine.
12. These should be given twice or three times a week, for a series of at least sixteen such general treatments.
13. In the same periods begin with the use of Codiron as a tonic for toning better building forces within the system itself. Take three tablets each day, one with the morning meal, two with the evening meal. Keep these throughout the period of the other treatments.
14. Also throughout the entire course of treatments we would use the Radio-Active Appliance AS an equalizer for the general nerve forces of the body. Use this for thirty minutes each evening before retiring. And let such periods be used as the periods for meditation, for constructive thinking, for those creative forces of balance throughout the body; and not for self alone but that the abilities of self may be used in a constructive way and manner for others also.
15. After the sixteen such adjustments or treatments are taken, then leave these off for the time being and begin with the application of a low voltage of the electrical forces directly to the lens of the eye itself; such as Erlanger or the like, see? These are to be taken about twice a week for a period of about ten to fifteen treatments.
16. Then leave these off and begin again with the osteopathic treatments or adjustments; taking THEN about six to ten such treatments, see?
17. Then have the second series of the electrical treatments.
18. Keep up the Codiron and the Radio-Active Appliance throughout these periods, you see.

19. In the matter of the diet - keep away from fried foods.
20. Do not eat raw apples, but cooked apples may be used in the diet. Most of the other fruits may be taken.
21. Especially have a great deal of vegetables cooked AND raw. As to meats - only fish, fowl or lamb.
22. These, as we find - with the general abstaining from fried foods or white breads or white potatoes and macaroni or the like - will make for better conditions through this system.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) What is the condition of the lens of the eye? (A) This, as we find, has rather a lesion in same, - through an injury as well as a caught portion of the lens.
25. (Q) What is condition of other parts of the eye? (A) These, as we find, will gradually adjust themselves if there will be the applications in the manner indicated for general body-building, as well as SPECIFIC applications for the physical forces where corrections are needed. Do these things, as we have indicated, and at least sixty to seventy-five to eighty percent IMPROVEMENT should be expected.
26. (Q) What doctor is recommended for the osteopathic treatments? (A) Anyone that is in sympathy with these suggestions, and willing to do as has been indicated.
27. (Q) How should the Appliance be attached - the Radio-Active? (A) In the manner as indicated for the use of such; circulating about the extremities of the body, you see.
28. We are through for the present. Two copies to Father (one for Mr. [257] to present to first Dr. Dobbins, then Dr. Erlanger, in the manner indicated) Copy to Ass'n file (See article [1800-24 Reports - which was enclosed] explaining theory of the Radio-Active Appliance. Dr. Henry Hardwicke, 494 Hudson St., N.Y.C., has one of these Appliances and I'm sure will be glad to discuss it with you, if you wish. Codiron is manufactured by The Lawrence Laboratories, Chicago, Ill. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of this case to the time of obtaining the reading, so we may have it to compare with our record. GD.) GD.)
