Born August 16, 1873, in Allegheny, now called Pittsburgh, Pa. Time of Reading 3:25 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In going back over the years from present - " - '36 - not so good - '33 - trials - '26 - '25 - sorrows - '21 - changes coming - '12 - change - 1900 - yes - " etc., on back to birth date.)
3. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1874].
4. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them here, much might be said as to the gains, the advancement the entity innately and spiritually has made through this experience.
5. While from the material aspects these might appear to some to be questions - we find that, with the sorrow, with the joy, with the trials, there has come an understanding that makes the hopes, the aspirations, the desires of the entity in keeping with that purpose for which each soul enters a material experience - to live, to manifest the love, the patience that makes one aware of one's relationship to the Creative Forces; thus living in that way and manner which brings the awareness to those an entity meets of the needs for their comprehension and understanding of God's relationships, God's care, His watchfulness over the children of men.
6. Hence the interpretations that are given here are chosen with that purpose and desire to make this experience a
1874-1 Page 2
helpful one to the entity, that she may have the assurance of His care, His thought in this particular experience.
7. In giving the influences that bear upon the activities, the intents and purposes of this entity, those from the astrological, the numerological or even any of the vibratory forces have come to mean little in the experience of this entity; and are only referred to as signs or omens.
8. For the will of the entity to carry on, even in the face or in spite of seeming adversity, shows, makes for, brings a contentment or peace which is the fulfilling of His promises in the experiences of individuals.
9. That those activities in Venus have brought beauty, joy, as well as sorrow, is an experience the entity has accepted, does accept as a part of that which has been and is necessary.
10. These then should be as assurances, as stepping-stones for that as may be yet accomplished through this material sojourn.
11. Also, from the material sojourns, the entity is brought in close association with many, with the very VARIED character of individuals - both in the home and in the associations or dealings with the fellow man.
12. Hold fast, then, to that thou hast determined within thine inner self. For He, thy God, is mindful - and will not give thee greater burdens than ye may bear - if ye trust wholly in Him.
13. Also in the Mercurian influence we find the dealings with the public, and in ways and manners in which there is the building towards homes - or a constructive force as may be a part of the experience of those whom the entity contacts.
14. Thus - as that is a part, and should be a part of the experience - there are the abilities to impress, in the lives of those who seek to establish homes, residences or places of sojourn - there are the opportunities to impress upon them the advantages, or to warn them as to the environs that may bring greater temptations than they may be able to bear under the material stresses.
15. These give an outlet for material activities that may bring greater contentment in the experience of this entity.
16. In the Mercurian influence we find the high ideals, the high mental abilities.
17. And the desires to be used in active service, rather than in allowing the mental self or the abilities to become dependent or to rely upon activities in an easier manner, bespeak rather of the growth that has been and is indicated in the experience of the entity through this material
1874-1 Page 3
sojourn.
18. As to the appearances in the earth - these as we find are quite varied in their aspects. Many of these bring activities in the individual experience of the present that have been within themselves the result of the law, "What ye sow, that ye reap." However, those that bring into the experience of others the magnifying of the glory of love as was shown in Him, bring to themselves a joy, a contentment and a peace that may not be found otherwise.
19. Before this, then, we find the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those early periods of settlings in the lands about what is now known as Toledo, Dearborn or Chicago.
20. It was during those experiences in that land when there were the needs for the peoples to rely upon the activities in the land of the entity's present sojourn; and the entity as a young person came into the environs and activities about those portions of the land of the present sojourn.
21. Then name then was Martha Hilden. In the experience the entity gained, the entity lost. The entity gained through those experiences when, because of the trials and the tribulations of the material activities, it gave itself in service. The entity lost when, in the advancement in material things, those who were under the care of the entity were neglected to their undoings in some respects - which has brought discouragements, and little hates that have found their expression in the experiences of the entity through the present activities.
22. Yet the abilities for the judgements in lands (that made for the greater activity in the latter portion of that sojourn) bring into the present experience of the entity what may be termed as the abilities in regard to real estate, or in such activities in which there is the aid in helping others to establish homes, domiciles, residences that offer the opportunities for meeting many of those experiences - yea, shortcomings through that particular periods of activity.
23. Before that, then (among those that would be given here), we find the entity was in the land now known as the Promised Land; during those periods when the Master walked in the earth.
24. There we find the entity came under those influences and activities of the Master Himself, as well as being among those who aided in the establishing of those who went about ministering - through the activities in those periods following the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the days of Pentecost.
1874-1 Page 4
25. For the entity was among those spoken of as the Holy Women, that attended those activities following the experiences; first the entity coming in contact with those activities at the death AND the raising of Lazarus, and later with Elizabeth, Mary, Salome, Mary of Magda, Martha, - all of those were a part of the experiences of the entity - as Salome. [See 1874-1, Par. R8 in re Salome.]
26. There we find the entity gaining the greater through the services and activities as a seamstress, or a maker of linen or tatting, or laces, during those experiences.
27. And through those activities the entity brought into the experiences of others assurances of help through confidences, through the activities that brought hope to those who were discouraged.
28. In the PRESENT we will find the entity oft, from its early experiences, being made a confidante by many - those even in various ages of their life, or stages of their development - both old and young coming to the entity oft; as WELL as the material ability to become one that might use the hands for dressmaking or activities pertaining to ANYTHING of wearing apparel in the choices of same, or the bedecking of others. These have been and are a part of the entity innately and manifestedly.
29. Hence the entity's abilities may be applied in the assistance to others in the choices for children, for home, for varied occasions when the confidence is needed or when periods arise for such an activity.
30. Hold to that as ye attained in that experience!
31. Hence again we find the life of Him, who is the Savior of MEN, becomes the more interesting - and especially the periods of His dwelling at Bethany, His aid to the sisters there, as well as those periods that were close to the days when the appeared so oft to His disciples - and those who have kept alive His activities.
32. Do thou then likewise in the present - not only in thy conversation, in thy daily thoughts, but in thy dealings with thy fellow man. For these may be expressed even as He gave - they that give a kind word, that may become as a cup of water to a thirsty soul, shall in no wise lose their reward.
33. Gentleness, kindness, patience - as ye have had to learn - are not hard in HIM - only when ye lose thy hold on His promises!
34. Before that we find the entity was in the Grecian period of activities when Xenophon overran the eastern lands.
35. We find the entity was among the Grecians who were close to those in power in that particular period - in the name
1874-1 Page 5
then Xenxer.
36. In the experience the entity gained, the entity lost, - for there was little during portions of the experience save for the gratifying of the desires and the expression of same.
37. Yet we find from that experience the entity's appreciation of the dance, of the activities that give expression that will make for the better physical developments as well as those that make for the aiding of those for the appreciation of material as well as mental and spiritual beauty.
38. And this may be applied in the present through the counseling to those, as ye minister in thy aid for building homes and the activities about same - the needs of such as a part of the experience of the young as well as in the advanced or latter portion of their material sojourns.
39. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land. There we find the entity was close to the activities in that period when the King and the Priest were in dispute, or when the turmoils arose.
40. For the entity THEN was what would be called today the keeper of those in the temple for entertainment; and thus the entity was closely associated with the King, the Priest and the dancing girls in that experience - siding with the entity that made for the disturbance with the Priest, owing to being the favorite of the King.
41. Hence the entity, this entity, was in ill repute by many during a portion of the experience, AS it was blamed for aiding those who caused much of the disturbance.
42. With the reestablishing of the Priest, we find that the entity was among those who were given the authority for the choice - or the preparation of those for their choice in developments for the activities through the land.
43. Hence again we find those coming to the entity for counsel, for advice.
44. And the ability as a teacher, the ability as an instructress for the various activities in their lives, becomes an innate as well as a manifested influence in the experience of this entity.
45. The name then was Aar-Shua-phit.
46. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:
47. Hold fast to that ye have determined in thy heart and mind, from those experiences in the Bethany land; and following in the making of experiences for others to know His love - not as obligations, but as a privilege to know His love.
1874-1 Page 6
48. And thus in same ye may find that joy, that happiness which is embraced in His peace.
49. Peace be with thee, ever!
50. Ready for questions.
51. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to remain in the real estate business? (A) By all means - especially for another eighteen months to two years. For we find that great opportunities are to be thine though these experiences - especially if there is the stress laid - in those ye contact - as the WHY, as to how certain pieces of property, or certain dwellings may make for the opportunities for those who dwell therein.
52. (Q) Are there any special types of property or phases of the business in which I would make the best success? (A) In homes, to be sure. Whether in the small or large, those that would build or those who would make only a temporary dwelling - impress upon each that phase of what home is - to the child, to the mother, to the father.
53. (Q) Are there any connections I should make to increase my real estate activities? (A) These as we find will within the next few months present themselves, as it were. Keep rather in touch with the whole situation, and these will bring - through the next two years - greater and greater opportunities.
54. (Q) I am attempting to sell the ... The price is placed too high. Are there any suggestions for making this sale? (A) As we find, there are those in the land of the entity's birth that would be particularly interested in this particular property - Curwood (?).
55. (Q) How should I proceed to contact them? (A) They will be brought in the associations so that the entity will know them when they come.
56. (Q) I have a buyer for the ... at a price $5,000 less than the lawyer handling property will accept. Is there any possibility of charging either party? (A) If you will go to the bank that holds these - which is, of course, through the defunct institution that first held the properties - there can be arrangements made whereby this can be completed. Stanhope.
57. (Q) What can I do to close the sale of the Old Cottage on ... St. to the ... in ...? (A) As we find, if this is to be made at all - let it rest as it is. So keep them reminded. We do not find it being completed, but do not give it up yet.
58. (Q) Any further advice for the entity at this time?
1874-1 Page 7
(A) Keep in those ways that will insure to self the all good conscience in its dealings with those about the entity, those in the home. Not as one that would stand alone, but know that self CAN accomplish the more when ye take thy Master in partnership with thee!
