Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better normal functioning.

4. These as we find arise from those disturbances with or IN the digestive system.

5. In some times back there were those medicinal properties taken that had, or their basic activity was, mercury.

6. This caused a thickening in the lower portion of the stomach and a contraction in the duodenum.

7. Thus from time to time we have had a spasmodic reaction from same; causing at one time the inclination towards a diarrhea condition and at another time the lack of the proper activity. Of course, through sympathetic conditions arising from the temperature in those portions of the body, - the disturbed condition in liver and gall duct activity, - THESE tend to make for the lack of proper eliminations through alimentary canal.

8. These conditions within the organs themselves have naturally caused a retention activity in the areas along the cerebrospinal system from which impulses arise for activity from the nervous forces.

9. Hence we find that lesions of a CIRCULAR nature have been caused about those ganglia especially in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th dorsal area. With the natural resulting conditions of these inflammatory forces, there have been disturbances through the lumbars - or through those areas of the lower hepatic circulation, that have caused some stiffness and heaviness across the lumbar or lower portion of the back and through the hips.

10. All of these effects become then the results, and are rather the sympathetic condition from a thickening - which

1880-1 Page 2

is not as yet of the nature that may be called malignant; but there have been both lacerations and ulcerations in those areas of the stomach, as has been indicated.

11. Then, as we find, in making applications for the beneficial conditions for this body:

12. We would first begin with applications of Hot Castor Oil Packs across the stomach, the liver, and the whole of the right side especially. These should be applied as hot as the body can stand same, using at least three thicknesses of flannel wrung out of the Castor Oil, and placed on the body next to the skin, of course; covering same afterward with cloths to prevent spoiling the bed clothing; and then applying an electric pad to keep same warm. Keep these Packs on for at least an hour and a half to two hours each time they are taken. These we would apply each evening for a period of at least five or six days.

13. Then, after the Packs have been given for five days, begin with taking small doses of the Essence of Ambrosia Weed. PREFERABLY this would be taken green, or NEW; prepared in this manner:

14. Put about half an ounce of the green Ambrosia Weed in a pint of water. Let this come thoroughly to a boil (after the Weed has been bruised and put in the water, you see). Then take off and strain; and to the quantity that is left - which would be about two-thirds of a pint, you see - add one ounce of Pure Grain Alcohol, that it may be preserved. [See 369-12 formula on 9/13/34 saying it is better than Simmons Liver Regulator.]

15. The dose of this would be half a teaspoonful three times each day (after the meals), until there are THOROUGH eliminations through the alimentary canal from the taking of same; that it may act upon the liver.

16. This is better for the body than taking even the Simmons Liver Regulator; which is of the same, but is combined with licorice and other compounds that, for THIS body, would NOT be so well. [See 6/10/71 letter under 1880-1 Reports saying that Simmons Laxative Medicine was discontinued over ten years ago.]

17. After this has acted thoroughly on the system, leave off for a day or two days; then begin again - for another five days - with the Castor Oil Packs.

18. With the beginning of the second series of the Castor Oil Packs, begin then ALSO with the osteopathic adjustments; which should be made particularly in the lumbar, the central dorsal or the 9th dorsal area, and all the way up to the head.

19. In this body, these would be given in the reverse manner

1880-1 Page 3

from the ordinary activities of beginning at the top and going down. Begin here with this body on the lower portion of the spine and move rather upward, in making the corrections.

20. Do these for at least six treatments. These would be, of course, during the periods the Oil Packs are taken; though the Packs are taken EVERY day, while the manipulations and adjustments would be taken only every OTHER day, see?

21. And after the second series of the Castor Oil Packs, begin again - of course - with taking the Ambrosia Weed as indicated.

22. Then, as to the diet:

23. Beware of those things that carry a great deal of grease. Not too much of starches. No white bread or white potatoes at any time.

24. If meat is taken, it should be preferably only fowl or fish.

25. No fried foods at any time.

26. Especially vegetables and fruits - these both raw and cooked - should form the basis of the diet for the body.

27. Drink plenty of water at all times.

28. Do these and we will bring the better forces for this body.

29. Ready for questions.

30. (Q) Is there any organic trouble? (A) As indicated, the organs are involved from the disturbances, and in the manner indicated.

31. (Q) Why do the doctors all disagree as to my condition? (A) Ask the doctors!

32. (Q) How long will it take for me to see improvement? (A) By the middle period of the manipulative forces osteopathically, there should be great improvement. There will be RELIEF from the beginning of the use of the Castor Oil Packs.

33. (Q) Am I inflamed in my intestines? (A) As a natural condition from the inflammatory forces, from the lacerations and ulcerations in stomach, portions of the intestines are involved.

34. (Q) Why does cold drinks or food affect me? (A) Just the natural consequences! Especially NO CARBONATED waters should EVER be taken! These are hard upon the system. ICE CREAM or ices would not be so bad, but NOT carbonated waters.

35. (Q) Can I take liquors of any kind? (A) For thine own undoing you may take them! but if you would be healed, NO - none of ANY kind! Wine might be taken

1880-1 Page 4

a little, but this as a food - NOT as a drink!

36. (Q) Why do I get dizzy spells? (A) The natural condition from too much of the blood flowing to those portions that are affected. Do the things as we have indicated, if you would have the better results.

37. We are through with this reading. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (5/11/39 GD's notes: See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Castor Oil Packs. If you have trouble getting the Ambrosia Weed prescription or compound prepared, let us know and we will have it made up by our local druggist. See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for the osteopath, when the time comes for these treatments. Be sure to do everything IN THE ORDER and AS INDICATED! In your vicinity we would recommend either of these three osteopaths who have had experience with following the reading recommendations: Dr. George J. Schoelles, Towers West, Bronxville, N.Y.; Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., New York City; Dr. J. C. Champion, 175 Main St., Suite 509, White Plains, N.Y. Let us know which one of these you choose. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of your case to the time of obtaining the reading. This is valuable for our files, giving us something with which to compare our information.) .)
