1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now as we find, there are some disturbing conditions - which at times prevent the better or normal physical functioning.
4. These have to do with the physical reactions as well as the mental attitudes of the body.
5. Here we find the disturbing conditions, then, in the reaction of the sensory forces or sensory system, and particularly the nerves of same - which disturb the organs of the sensory system.
6. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1889] we are speaking of:
7. In the blood supply - here we find there are the effects of the sympathetic reactions through the organs of digestion and assimilation, that produce poisons - by the times when the body becomes so overaggravated, so overexercised as to cause the poisons to be thrown into the system.
8. These poisons, combined then with those subluxations which exist in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area, produce the greater disturbance to the eyes, the ears, the taste, the nasal passages - and through portions of the neck and face at times a neuralgia that brings a great distress or disturbance to the system.
9. These, as we find, are the greater disturbances with this body.
10. These naturally produce, through the eliminating system, the activity of the liver, the activity of the lower hepatic circulation (the kidneys), those irregularities that become contributory to the general discomfort of the body at times.
11. As we find, then, we would give that first, in making for corrections, there must be a change of attitude, -
1889-1 Page 2
towards self, those about self, and the conditions which the body physically and mentally has found and does find around self.
12. Resentments, animosities, petty jealousies and the like must be eliminated as much as practical and possible, IF there will be the better physical force, the better mental and physical reaction.
13. This as we find may best be done by the body analyzing itself. Consider: What is thy ideal? What is thy purpose?
14. And when considering the ideal, know that this - spiritually, mentally, materially - must find its basis of activity in spirituality - that is, prompted by the desire to do something that is constructive in the very physical forces and physical relationships.
15. Do not consider so much what others should do for or to YOU, but what will you do for and towards others?
16. And realize that all of these must be constructive in their nature.
17. Read, then, something of the Scripture - as in the 30th of Deuteronomy; as in the 13th of 1st Corinthians; as the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of St. John. Not just reading as rote, but see in these that there is a message for thyself, that it is to thee this message is coming, to THEE these promises may be made materially manifest.
18. And ye will find there will be a great deal of change in thy purposes in life, in thy activities towards others, - yea, ye will find that many will go out of their way, apparently, to be nice to thee, where heretofore they have been quite aggravating at times.
19. In the PHYSICAL forces (that have been partially disrupted by these attitudes, and which will be materially aided by this change of attitude) there are physical things to be done also.
20. These as we find are primarily from those disturbing conditions in the nervous system, aggravated by the mental attitudes, that cause these disturbances in face, head and neck, and especially to the organs of the sensory system.
21. Then - not chiropractically, but OSTEOPATHICALLY - from one who is an osteopathic eye, ear and nose specialist, - make those adjustments in the cerebrospinal system; especially from the 9th dorsal upward - that will alleviate those pressures, allowing better drainages and better circulation and impulse from the cerebrospinal system to the throat, neck, head, eyes, ears and nasal passages.
22. Occasionally - two or three times a week - the application of the violet ray (mild stimulation from the bulb applicator of the hand machine) would be most helpful.
1889-1 Page 3
This may be applied by self just before retiring of an evening. This (as well as the change of attitude) will change the vibratory relationships of the sympathetic nervous system to the head and neck and shoulders. Use for a minute to a minute and a half over the sides of the face, back of the ears, down the neck, and all the way DOWN the whole of the cerebrospinal system.
23. In the matter of the diet - keep away from those things that tend to produce acidity in the system. Beware of any of those drinks that carry too great a quantity of carbonated waters, or of such natures that produce an alcoholic reaction.
24. Red wine - taken of late afternoon as FOOD and not as drink - would be helpful; not only in aiding the activity of an already disturbed circulation through the hepatics, but in stimulating the gastric flow as to aid a better activity through pancreas, spleen AND the activity of the kidneys.
25. Do these, and as we find we will make better conditions for this body of [1889].
26. Ready for questions.
27. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Mrs. [1765] " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Osteopath.
