Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Penna.
1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1903].
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the normal physical reactions. These as we find arise from a combination of disturbances; those from the activities in the physical system resulting from an unbalanced chemical reaction in the digestive system, and this aided or abetted by the disturbing influences or forces that have upset the equilibrium of the body in a worry, - that has SYMPATHETICALLY affected the nervous system and become reactionary upon the organs especially that are involved in the activity of the impulses that affect the body in its reaction.
4. This body and this disturbance from a psychological and pathological condition would be most interesting for a student of the psychological effect producing pathological conditions - as combined with the physical conditions existent.
5. If these were considered only from the medic, or from the physical conditions, it would be called a liver or gall duct disturbance. It is MORE than this; and the disturbing factor as it involves the circulation, the heart's activity, the conditions as relate to the ability of the body to assimilate certain foods, the conditions as arise from same from the reactions in the digestive system, would NOT be wholly or satisfactorily relieved by operative measures.
6. For in the first, the condition of the imaginative or synthetic or sympathetic nervous system would not permit of such drastic reactions - because of the condition which exists in the organ of impulses in its activity - the
1903-1 Page 2
spleen.
7. In making applications that would be the most beneficial, as we find, all of these conditions must be taken into consideration.
8. For while there are those physical conditions from the pathology of the body's reaction that need correction, there are also those that would be hindered by such measures, - unless there are strong suggestions given as measures are taken for the correction of the bodily disturbance through the organ itself.
9. These measures as we will suggest here, then, if they are applied in a consistent manner, will aid in producing those conditions in which the balance through the system may be brought to the organs and to the whole of the nervous system, as well as to the reflex conditions which disturb the rest of the system.
10. For it being the period when there are the adjustments of the body in its glandular system, as well as those changes wrought in the mental and the imaginative outlook of the nervous system, there must be the consideration of all of these conditions.
11. First we would give that there be the use of the heavy Castor Oil Packs each day for five days - preferably in the evening, OVER the area of the liver - and this means extending from almost the spinal column on the right side ACROSS the right side, over the liver AND the spleen area. Use at least three thicknesses of heavy flannel, dipped in the Castor Oil (not just the Oil poured on same) and wrung out, just as hot as can be handled with the hands (with rubber gloves), and applied directly to the body - just as warm as the body can stand same. Then apply heat over same, - not an electric pad but rather a pad of heated salt - at least half an inch thick, that would reach over the whole of the area covered by the Castor Oil, or a little more. Heat the salt (preferably coarse salt) and put in a bag, you see. Allow this to remain on the body until it has cooled so that it is unpleasant in its coolness to the body. Do this each evening for five days.
12. After the fifth application - the next day take at least a tablespoonful of Pure Olive Oil - in the evening.
13. Then the NEXT morning take a high enema. Though there may have been the activity of the Oil upon the eliminating or alimentary canal, cleanse the colon thoroughly with the enema that all of the fecal forces or accumulations by the activities of the Oil Packs AND the Olive Oil internally may be removed - so as to make for a sympathetic reaction with spleen, pancreas and liver.

14. Then, two days after THAT, begin with gentle osteopathic manipulations. The first three or four treatments should be VERY gentle, but stimulating to those centers from especially the 3rd and 4th cervical TO the end of the spine; with particular reference to those areas of the lower cervicals and upper dorsals. But do not fail to stimulate also the 9th dorsal, 4th lumbar and through the sacral. All of these would be gently done at first.
15. Take three such treatments during the first week. Afterwards they may be given a little bit longer and only twice a week, until sixteen adjustments have been taken.
16. Through each period, let there be the optimistic suggestions by the one making the manipulations.
17. After the sixteenth treatment, REST for a period of two weeks.
18. Then begin all over again with the Castor Oil Packs, with the heated salt, Olive Oil, etc., and THEN three to six more adjustments or treatments - after cleansing with the Olive Oil and the colonic irrigation.
19. With the beginning of the osteopathic manipulations, we would also begin with the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, - that it may create a better balance in the whole of the circulatory system, enabling the body to rest or to gain aid from the rest and sleep periods. Make the applications first to the right wrist and the left ankle - then circulate about the body in the order as indicated for the use of such an Appliance; keeping the plates clean as they are connected to the wrist and ankle.
20. And while the Appliance is attached to the body (each day for one hour), (or each day for at least thirty minutes), let the body make constructive suggestions to self. Put these thoughts into the own words, but MEAN them, - not merely as rote, but as that the body would be, in mind, body and soul:
21. "Father, God! Keep thy servant (naming the self) in that way Thou would have me go. Help me, each day, each hour, to realize that the strength and the power of body and mind comes from Thee. Aid me, then, O Father, to fulfill that purpose Thou hast for me, here and now - with those about me, with those I may meet day by day; helping me, O God, to be a channel of blessings to someone in a way and manner wholly acceptable unto Thee, through the promises Thou hast given to those that seek Thy face. In Jesus I ask this."
22. Throughout the period of the suggested applications, be very mindful of the diets. Keep away from fats of every nature; also meats or fried foods; though if desirable the
1903-1 Page 4
flesh of fowl, fish or lamb may be taken.
23. Especially liver or such would be well for the body, but not fried. Have it broiled, roasted or the like.
24. Have at least one meal each day consist principally of green, raw vegetables. Do not eat much of any of the vegetables that grow under the ground for long periods. To be sure, carrots, radishes, onions and the like may be included in the raw foods, but not so much in cooked foods.
25. Refrain from highly seasoned foods.
26. Doing all of these in the manner indicated, we will find these conditions will clear physically, and the outlook in the mental will be quite different; and the helpfulness that the body may be to others will be materially aided.
27. Ready for questions.
28. (Q) Do I have a diseased gall bladder? (A) In the manner indicated.
29. (Q) Should I have an X-Ray picture made of same? (A) If it is desirable to satisfy self. But as we have indicated, if there is the use of the applications here suggested, we may CORRECT the disturbance without a great deal of suffering or pain; and create a better and a more normal balance in EVERY direction for this body, [1903].
