1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [1931] at ..., who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his life work and how he may get into it. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1931]; this we have - in a direction - had before.

3. There has been indicated through these channels that conservation, especially as related to forestry and its branches, is the channel through which the entity may find the greater outlet for the accomplishing of those abilities which are latent and manifested in the experience of this entity in the present.

4. As we find, in the present environment is the channel where the entity may gain that necessary background, and that necessary for the undertakings in those directions. To change, or to attempt to allow self to turn aside because of the needs for concentration, for study, for the gaining of the basic truths that are included in the study of physics, of chemistry, of those things that pertain to the BASIC principles in conservation - as well as relating to the basic influences for forestry preservation - such would only lead to the entity NOT being in the position to fill those places that the entity is capable of filling.

5. Then, we would give - absorb all of that as is possible. Though the studies, though the required work may lead into fields of activity that at present are only antagonistic, - SUBDUE this. Realize, see the needs of this knowledge, this understanding; that there may be the abilities for the use of same in greater, better, more consistent manners for the work, for the activities that lie ahead for this entity.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) Where must I go to study conservation and find the better outlet for fulfilling the purpose for which I entered

this experience? (A) Where you ARE is that necessary for the basic principles of that to be applied. For, otherwise it would only mean a menial position; which might in a manner become an outlet - but these preparations are necessary for the bigger, the better, the more consistent, the more constructive activity. Be an AUTHORITY, and not merely a cog in a wheel!

8. (Q) What immediate action should I take concerning my situation here at Penn State? (A) APPLY SELF! Gain the awareness, "I MUST get that which is being offered here, and now," for the basic truths that are necessary for the study of the subject. And then, when there are the periods for making practical application, the government, the places, the nations, will be SEEKING such an one!

9. (Q) How may I best appease my present longing for nature study and conservation? (A) Because of the need for these basic principles, put the other away for the moment. Not that such would not be kept in mind, but as extra perception - as it might be termed. Read or study those activities of others in those fields of service or activity in which the mind is seeking expression; and know that there are the needs for the knowledge of that which goes to make UP the soil, that goes to make UP the range as to weather, as to nature, as to the chemistry of each section. For these are the basic truths. Fill the life with such constructive activities, then, MAKING the studies not a drudge but - as it were - rather play, though as a NECESSARY influence in the experience for the greater possibilities, the greater opportunities that are before the entity.

10. (Q) How should I expend my energies now, to the greatest advantage? (A) Do as has just been indicated.

11. (Q) In what part of the U.S. would I find the better peace and harmony in my work? (A) Of course, this is indicating that there is a change sought. Do not change until ye have mastered self and the subjects necessary for the basic activity of conservation, see?

12. (Q) Then should I seek a course in conservation? (A) As just indicated, when these basic studies are concluded, there will be PRESENTED the opportunity; by the very seeking out of individuals, by government agencies, CAPABLE OF DOING the very things that will give the bigger,

the broader outlet for the entity.

13. (Q) Is the stone which I found in Alaska last summer the lapis linguis? (A) Lapis linguis [GD's note: My sp. EC spelled l-i-n-g-u-a, in re stones, so linguis [?] must be the singular.], lapis lazuli. This as we find might be said to be a part of that same composition referred to; for it carries that vibration which will give strength to the body. Well that this be preserved between thin layers of glass or such compositions, else its radiation is too great.

14. (Q) Is there any further advice for me in regard to preparation for, or activity in, the work chosen? (A) STUDY - STUDY - STUDY! This may appear at first to be contrarywise to the longings. But he that mastereth self is greater than he that taketh a city. Master self in the present, and the subjects necessary; so as not to be merely a keeper of preserve, not merely a director of activities that would require for the menial labors, but an AUTHORITY - that will give the outlet for the opportunities, the possibilities that lie latent within thee! As has been indicated, the test is before thee. Do not go back on thyself!
