Time of Reading ... Road, 4:10 to 4:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.C.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [1947], present in this room, who seeks information, advice and guidance as to her life and work, according to information which has been previously suggested thru this channel. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1947], present in this room; and the information which has been indicated regarding many phases of the entity's activity and development.

3. Much might be said respecting the use to which the entity has put the information in its experience thus far. Much might be said respecting the various phases of counsel and suggestion; but the entity must in the light of its own experience use that in hand, that more may be given thee day by day.

4. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) Should I go West or remain here? (A) As we find, and as we have indicated, go West for at least a period of interpreting in self that which may be accomplished by the entity in that environ. We find that in the fall, or in time for making connections or associations with activities especially as related to school and body-development, this should for at least a period of twelve to fourteen months be a part of the entity's experience - in the West. Santa Barbara, as we find.

6. (Q) Should I go immediately or remain here during the summer? (A) There are many phases of the experience that would be better if the entity or body would remain here, or in the east, through the summer; and then in the latter portion of same go West.

7. (Q) If remaining for summer, where? Beach, mountains or both?

1947-5 Page 2

(A) Both. Beach a portion of the time, through June; and July and portions of August in the mountains; then West.

8. (Q) Should I take my maid and her husband West with me? Would they be contented? (A) This as we find would NOT EVENTUALLY prove the best. It would not make for the best conditions.

9. (Q) Should I return to my husband, or not? (A) As we have indicated heretofore, there must be worked out at least some of the problems. As to whether this is to be done in close companionship or not may best be determined by the body being IN the West and in that environment for a while; for this is the best manner or means for determining the course to pursue. While it is thoroughly understood by the entity in some respects as to the variation as to thought and intent, places and people, it will be found that the West offers a channel for the entity - and an environment - that is entirely different from the East. In the course or space of some twelve to twenty-four months, the entity will see many things much different from that as viewed in the present.

10. (Q) If so, should I return to him temporarily or permanently? (A) Just as indicated, this had best be considered by both as an opportunity. If there is any favorable ground for the children's sake, yes. If the differences which have gradually arisen cannot be worked out to a helpful force, then the work of each is too much disturbed even by the attempt of the impossible.

11. (Q) If temporarily, would my marriage with [2080] be possible or right? (A) This will be determined - but we will see many changes coming about within the twelve months, if there is the change - and then this can best be determined.

12. (Q) If so, when? (A) Necessarily it would be after twelve to fourteen months.

13. (Q) What should he do to become financially secure? Should he go West, if so, when? (A) When there has been determined as to whether the lots are to be tied one with another; and then in those channels of activity in which the entity [2080] is best adapted would be found the outlet and means for making the material or financial successes as needed for the best for all.

14. (Q) Have his attitudes changed since the Reading? (A) Rather they have changed in the manner that doubt has

1947-5 Page 3

arisen as to his own abilities, yet his sureness in some things is still a stumblingblock to himself.

15. (Q) Why should I keep [2005], my elder daughter, away from large bodies of water? as indicated in a previous Reading? (A) As indicated in the Reading, large bodies of water are rather as drawing influences; tending to make the entity become less active in protection of self. Not that large bodies of water would of themselves become engulfing, but that they would rather have an attraction that is NOT the best in its environ AS a continuous thing for the entity.

16. (Q) Should I move my furniture West, or leave it here? (A) Leave it here for the time being.

17. (Q) Will the Colorado building of mine sell? When? If not, what should I do with it? (A) As we find, in the middle of the summer, or early fall, it will sell; and it would be the best to dispose of same - in or near that period between the 25th of August and the 15th of September.

18. (Q) Should I accept the offer to become a western representative of the Grove's Marriage Council? (A) We do not find it wise except as in an advisory capacity; not as a whole representative.

19. (Q) Please explain. (A) As we find, there may be the full representation of same - as with the incomes and activities that come from such; there may also be the association with same in the capacity as counsel respecting same - in an advisory capacity, which is much better than being the full representative - for this entity. For, the full representation would interfere with that in which the entity is best adapted to do in its associations and the help it may give to individual physical education.

20. (Q) Should I go into the new profession of physical developments I have just started? (A) As we find, this in conjunction with high school AND adult classes would be MOST advisable in the Santa Barbara area.

21. (Q) How should I start it - commercially for adults, or begin in a school, or both? (A) As indicated, the high school with adult classes, - these, of course, separate. They may be maintained not only by the adults but by the great HELP that comes to all through even that which has thus far been accomplished. And we will find, even in this section of the West, there will be the greater taking hold of same; greater numbers, greater influence upon the activities. While it will not be

1947-5 Page 4

as easy to gain the full cooperation of groups, there will be the ability of the entity to attain or gain same to a degree where it may become a national condition or issue.

22. (Q) Will it be financially successful? (A) It should!

23. (Q) Shall I seek a job in the high school in Santa Barbara for next year? (A) As indicated, this is well to be begun in the high school - and it may be combined with the adult classes for the greater material or remunerative influences from same.

24. (Q) Should I now apply for the Santa Barbara high school position from here, or will it come without my application? (A) Make the application - and then it will come through the channels that may or can be opened through the connections and associations.

25. (Q) Would [2080] be a wise partner in the commercial capacity, or should he engage in his own business? (A) As indicated, engage in his own business; not a very wise partner, especially in the beginning.

26. (Q) Any further advice in handling my association with him? (A) As indicted heretofore, let the determining factors be rather a united effort on the part of each; for, too much selfishness is there on the part of [2080], as has been indicated.

27. (Q) Is the Colran Face-Lifting Machine reliable? Should I buy it to use in my business? Would it strengthen my children's eyes and mine without being harmful? (A) We would NOT take hold of same. It will not prove to be advantageous.

28. (Q) Is Agnes McGregor's beauty cabinet reliable for reducing, weight building and health? Should I incorporate it in my business? Is there any better device? (A) This is very reliable. An association with same, or the use of same, or as a representative of same, would be very well. It may be an associated part in the activities for the physical development.

29. (Q) Would an association with Agnes McGregor prove troublesome? (A) Let this be only as a representative, and not in too close association with same.

30. (Q) Would a staff member of the Sansum Santa Barbara Diet Clinic be available? (A) Be available.

31. (Q) Would it be practical for Mildred Ellington to go west to associate with me in hair-styling and care, in the project? (A) This, of course, involves the minds and activities of

1947-5 Page 5

others. As we find, it CAN be and is practical, and would be an association that would be well for each, be helpful for each.

32. (Q) Has my decision, establishing a new status with my friend [1991] been right or wrong? (A) As we find, it has been right; and is best to be continued in the manner as has been the decision of the entity.

33. (Q) Any further advice in handling my association with him? (A) As we would give, keep in that way which has been the determination or choice; and this will prove to be the most satisfactory way.

34. (Q) Is the medium Buddy, friend of my friend Clara in Washington, reliable or false? (A) This as we find is to be determined by individuals who seek information through such channels. There ARE through mediumships various interpretations by the sources from which such information comes. For, as we have indicated through this channel heretofore, oft there are those sources that are purely of the subconscious mind of the individual entity. At other periods there are the interpretations, or attempts to read from those records that are a part of the universal forces; and in the intent to interpret such there may be many misleading interpretations and directions taken, from that attempted to be given. Not intentionally false, but not always true.

35. (Q) Any advice for help with my children? (A) Much might be indicated - but in a general and specific manner we would give that the same activities be applied in relationships to the children as to the help that the entity has the ability to give in the advice and counsel for aiding others, though they may be of older years and more developed in their minds. For, remember that older people are only children grown up - the temperaments and the natures are the same. Then, apply that in the associations with the children as would be applied in the physical and mental development of those as a part of thy work.

36. (Q) Will my husband be in ... next year, while I am in Santa Barbara? (A) As we find, he will be there the greater portion of the time at least.

37. (Q) Any further advice? (A) As we find, and as indicated - especially in the analysis of self as to the intent and purposes - there

1947-5 Page 6

should oft be the analyzing of the purposes, hopes, fears, aspirations - in the light of what is thy ideal. That, as we find, is the counsel for the entity in the present.

38. (Q) Any scoldings necessary? (A) These are within self. Who is to condemn? For, self is already condemned in self when such analysis, such an activity as indicated is done. Study to show thyself approved, a workman not ashamed.

39. (Q) Should I attend the Association Congress? (A) As we find, this may be very beneficial to others, as well as to self - in the contacts, as well as in the lessons that may be gained from same.

40. (Q) Should I ever turn down a request to counsel others? (A) Never!
