This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of September, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1968], Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading ... Street, 10:35 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Ark.

1. GC: You will have before you the life existence in the earth plane of [1968], born November 22, 1910, in Pine Bluff, Ark., and the earthly existence of this entity as the mother of Jarius' daughter in the Palestine period. You will give a biographical life of the entity in that day and plane of earthly existence, from entrance - and how - into the earth's plane, and the entity's departure; giving the development or retarding points in such an existence. You will answer the questions, then, as I ask them, concerning her present associations and the influences from other sojourns.

2. EC: Yes, we find the records here of that entity, [1968] - now known; and the experience as the mother of Jarius' daughter.

3. The indications here are rather unusual (in comparison); an experience of an entity entering the earth's plane, filling those purposes or opportunities as gained from other sojourns.

4. The entity was among the daughters of the children of Ishmael. And the associations, the wedding with Jarius in the early portion of the entity's experience in the earth plane, came through the journeying of Jarius with those influences established in the western portion of the country now known as Turkey; and the activities of the entity through those experiences were of a social as well as political nature.

5. There was quite a variation as to the position of women in a household as was the entity, Maipah, and those in a household of those in authority - as was Jairus, because of his position politically. He was not merely the captain of a guard, or of a garrison, but as one who was in authority pertaining to the supplying of the commercial, the social and the political relationships of the land; when the entity joined in the activities, in portions of that now known as the Galilean land.

6. The entity was some twenty years of age when the first

child was born; then the second and third - and the third child was the daughter, Touhpar by name.

7. When the companion or husband, Jarius, became aware of the teachings and tenets of the Master, Jesus of Nazareth, and knowing the conditions surrounding the companion and the "delicate" condition (as would be called), for there was the expectancy of the fourth child to be born - the anxiety as manifested brought the commendation from the Master, as well as wonderment from his associates or companions in his office. This showed rather the unusual interest of man for his mate, and for the offspring, for the period or time. But Jarius had been influenced by those tenets which he had heard expressed, not only by John but by the followers of - and the Master Himself.

8. This brought into the experience of the entity, Maipah, that of humbleness, patience, desire for expression in some manner. Yet, because of the early teaching, the early training, wonderment and fear and doubt were also a part of the consciousness through that particular period.

9. And it was that period, and that following - as to what the entity did about it - which brings the urges within the manifested activities of the entity in the present.

10. For, with the coming of the Master to the home, and with the conditions and environs of self as well as the counsel or advice of others, there came doubt and fear. Yet with the command that those who would hinder by their adverse thought or expressions be put away, the entity and companion had their loved one given again to them as a LIVING example of His indeed being the resurrection.

11. Thus the entity sought to know and aid those who were the leaders or teachers - of course, the holy women, the prophetesses, and those who had been instrumental in every form or manner in keeping the tenets alive in the experience of others.

12. Throughout the rest of its sojourn, then, the entity lent self in aid of every manner; in the social manner as well as in the PRACTICAL helpfulness to all who sought to keep the faith.

13. The entity lived to a ripe age for those periods, and the persecutions. But being of those in authority the entity was protected or shielded in some ways; for, with others that came to know more of the blessings to be had materially and mentally from the embracing of those principles and tenets of the teacher, greater opportunities came for the entity throughout its sojourn.

14. So in the present, as has been indicated, there should - through the very body of this entity - be brought into

experience those - one, and more - that would be indeed a blessing to the many - through their efforts, their application of their opportunities, through the tenets that may be given by the entity in this experience.

15. Then, follow closely in those ideals, those principles that have directed and that do so direct the life; and we will find greater harmony, greater blessings, greater satisfaction in this activity - in the building of the home.

17. (Q) What were some of the tenets which were used by the entity and [264] in our Palestine experience, and how can we use them in the present in order to bring about the better associations and activities to each and with others? (A) The practical application of those things, ideas, ideals that are justly called the seed of the spirit; gentleness, kindness, longsuffering, patience, brotherly love, temperance in all things. These were rather unusual in that experience or period, for those of the sex - or the women - to make practical application of; yet the freedom given to the companions of those in authority (politically and socially) aided them in making such applicable. For, who sought physical associations with those who were of the low caste, or low estate, save as applied to the mothers of faith, those of the holy women, through that experience, of which the entity was one! And the application of those same tenets, those same principles, those same ideals, will bring its reward in this experience.

18. (Q) Will I eventually marry [R...], or if I marry someone else, will those sons who will help adjust the nation still come to me? (A) This is part of THY heritage, and that attraction should be from, and is of, the application of the principles of truth and of spirit and of life, rather than the companion, see? As to whether there will be that association with [R...] will depend upon circumstance. As has been indicated for the entity, this should not be made as something that MUST be irrespective of conditions. But seek. There are those associations, there are those purposes. Then make way for them, among those who are of the sons of faith; and not as of old holding to the aggrandizement of self.

19. (Q) Is it still possible for me to carry out my entire destiny as I planned when I came to this earth plane?

(A) To be SURE!

20. (Q) Please give such information regarding past experiences, if any, with [820] which may be used now as a helpful influence in my life as well as his. (A) Parallel the associations and experiences. These are the better manners to judge, and draw thy own inferences and conclusions as to what the associations were.

21. (Q) Have I met the one I should marry and how am I to know who he is? (A) That he is a child of FAITH, a SON of faith - as has just been indicated!

22. (Q) How can I overcome self-consciousness or "stage-fright" in making talks before the public? (A) By putting the whole trust in Him. For He has promised - "Take not thought of what ye shall say, for in the same hour shall it be given thee." This is literally, practically, true, if the entity will rely upon same, and be willing to break down oft. The SINCERITY bespeaks its own self.

23. (Q) Please give any other advice that would be helpful to me at this time. (A) Follow up this with the putting of self ever in that attitude, in mind and in activity: NOT MY WAY, LORD, BUT THINE, BE DONE IN AND THROUGH ME: THAT I MAY FILL THAT PURPOSE, THAT PLACE, THOU WOULD HAVE ME DO AT THIS TIME.
