1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In going back over years from present - " - '35 - some changes in attitudes through the periods - '33 - '34 - '35 - '36 - '32 - '31 - '24 - alterations in activities - '96 - yes - " etc., on back to birth date.)
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1991].
4. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find here, these are chosen with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience in the entity's seeking for the purposes as to why a soul seeks manifestation in materiality.
5. Then, in choosing that information as may be gathered, we find that much presents itself as would be of interest in the various studies as may be made - not only of the experiences of the entity as an entity in the material sojourns but of the influences which the entity has with the universal consciousness through the relative activities in sojourns through periods between those appearances in the earth, as time is called. And these are not because of certain positions of stars, planets, the sun or the moon, but because the entity in its inception has a relationship through those sojourns of a consciousness in environs which bear relationships to the motivative forces within the influences having to do with activities in materiality.
6. As is indicated here, we find that Mercury, Venus,
1991-1 Page 2
Jupiter, Saturn - all of these bear the relative relationships to innate urges.
7. In Mercury we find the high mental abilities as a ruling influence by that as oft reaches almost intuition, as is commonly known. And thus the entity has what some call hunches, intuitive forces, those emotions which arise not from relationships to conditions or things but from the NEEDS OF that as would give a better comprehension of those forces or influences ABOUT THE ENTITY, whether these would have to do with a purely mental or physical convenience, or for activities that would make for the saving of time in the experiences of others.
8. These become innately, then, portions of the entity's mental - or partially mental - experience.
9. In Venus we find the love of the beautiful, of nature. Rather than those things as might have been turned into a purely material expression in the high relationships with the mental, they take on more of a cosmic nature in the expression. And thus, as in song, as the depicting of nature in its expression, or the loneliness of this or that of nature's expressions in the various kingdoms as may be seen - whether the cry of the cricket, the warming of the sun, the emanations from glistening water or from the reflections from light upon a cut stone - all of these have in the entity's experience a place in the THOUGHT or the MEDITATING as to man's relationship in its higher sense with the SOURCES of such energies, or the relationships they bear with Creative Forces or influence.
10. From Jupiter we find abilities, as it were, for the application of these natures in the experience of the entity, as it bears relationships to masses, to groups; hence oft as an instructor or director of those influences that would bring such to the awareness - as just outlined - of the minds and experiences of those about the entity.
11. The Saturn's indications show rather the adverse influence - though changes have oft, through the high mental abilities of the entity, been made to become stepping-stones rather than hindrances. And indeed fortunate is the entity that is able to turn those influences and forces that appear for the moment to block thought, or material activity, into periods for the reviving of those purposes for which each soul enters the experience. For thus the entity may come to know that the universal forces or laws are ever applicable in the experiences of individuals, and do not alter or change - though they may oft appear to bend, even as does the stick in water, or the rays of the anatomical forces in the activities of human
1991-1 Page 3
experience and human relationships.
12. For God IS; and only they who would, who will, who do believe and seek may become aware of their relationships to Him.
13. That ye sow, that ye reap.
14. No one may give impetus to the seed of hate nor of joy save as they apply same in their relationships to their fellowmen.
15. For God alone may quicken the spirit. Man may sow the seed of faith, of hope, of love, of longsuffering, or he may sow just the opposites. But God quickens same according to the first principle - that He hath not willed that the soul of man shall perish. Though the body, the encasement of the soul may change oft, yet the growth is ever towards fulfilling that to which it chooses. For it is not as to who shall bring a message from heaven, nor from over the seas; for lo, it is within thine own heart! For there is today, each day, set before thee good and evil, life and death - choose thou.
16. As to the appearances in the earth, we find these - as will be indicated - have been rather what might be termed as flitful, or fitful - in that there have been periods of quick return (in comparing, or comparison), and then LONG intervals.
17. Hence we find the two natures as indicated in the astrological aspect of Gemini. Yet, as indicated, the entity has grown from and not toward these. Thus developments have been and are in the grasp of the entity, NOW, TODAY!
18. Before this we find the entity was in the land of the present nativity, not sojourn; though journeying, through the experience, through many of the western lands; during the days of man's search for gold - during those periods when there were great changes wrought by the material manifestations in the minds of many.
19. Yet the entity was not so much interested in the metal itself, or its possession, as in the study of what it - the possession of same, as well as the lands and new environs and surroundings - did for those peoples as they sought.
20. Hence the experience might be called one of search by the entity, yet rarely understood by those with whom the entity came in contact - until the very latter portion of that sojourn - in the lands about what is now the western portion of America.
21. There we find the entity, as might be called, was something of a philosopher, something of a naturalist, something of a geologist; or a student of things, conditions
1991-1 Page 4
and peoples, and that as MOTIVATED THEM in their search or activities in either.
22. The name was then Otis Addwell. In the experience the entity gained, the entity was not understood - but as for soul development, which is the purpose of EACH in action, the entity gained through that sojourn.
23. Thus in the present we may find the interest in nature, the interest in things, the ABILITIES for the improving of material things as well as conditions in the experiences of others; rather the student of nature and man's reaction to same, than of the purely mechanized or material things in the present experience.
24. Before that we find the entity was in the Roman land during those periods when there were the questionings of those peoples as to their promptings from a religious or spiritual fervor.
25. The entity, in the capacity of an interpreter of and in keeping the records of those exchanges in the many varied lands, came in contact - through the experience - with those who were not only in the offices of power (who became believers in a faith of a man in Galilee) but those who were in various stages of the economic as well as the political influences of the day and period.
26. Thus we find the entity was a traveler, and having a knowledge of those portions of North Africa (as called now), portions of Palistine, portions of what is now the Turkish and the Grecian land, as well as many of the isles of the sea.
27. Thus we find in the present an interest, innately and manifestedly, in conditions of peoples in varied lands. And a smattering of that which has been the history is always well for the individual, as to a place, a city or nation or state, as well as to what they have produced in cultural things or that as PROMPTED their thought of eternal influences and forces in their experience.
28. The entity gained and lost through that experience, in the name then Philos - not the Grecian but the Roman Philos.
29. In the present experience from that sojourn we will find the interest in affairs pertaining to the music, the literature, the songs of varied groups; and these become studies for the entity.
30. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Arabian and Persian, in the 'city in the hills and the plains.'
31. The entity was of the Grecian peoples who came into the Persian land for the specific activities in relationships to
1991-1 Page 5
not only the commercial activities of the land but to the philosophical teachings that were a part of the experiences during that period.
32. And there we find the entity became one close to the activity in the 'city in the hills and the plains.' For the healing arts, by the songs of groups or of peoples, of the sand as well as the sun, became a part of the entity's experience. And the interpretations of same, as were taught the entity by the teacher in that experience, brought great tranquility to the entity through that sojourn.
33. Hence, as the entity seeks to give expression of that as may bring joy and beauty into the minds or the experiences of others, whether in the artistic forces of a painting, or of a song, or of a way or means of giving expression to the new fields of endeavor - let it enter (as it learned to do then) into the silence with the forces of nature itself, the creative energies, or that through and to which there is received those vibratory forces of the universal consciousness.
34. Then, too great a stress might not be laid upon this phase of the entity's experience in the present: Seek not from without, but to those consciousnesses, those voices, those feelings, those vibrations as may arise from within. For know, as has been indicated, THERE He, the Giver of all good and perfect gifts, makes to grow those seed which ye have sown.
35. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as or called the Atlantean, during those periods of the breaking up of same, when there were many divisions of those in the various portions of the earth as were then coming into activity.
36. The entity was among those who went to what was the Mayan or Mayan and Incan activity, or the land of Oz.
37. In the experiences the entity led in the preserving of those things which brought the creating of vibratory forces as from the very ESSENCE of nature's storehouses themselves; and thus the vibrations of metals, of juices, of plants, of the activity of nature or of the sun and the dew upon same became the entity's activities.
38. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:
39. First, know within self thine own ideal - mental, spiritual, material. Not as to what ye would have others be or do to thee, but what ye might do to others to show THY concept of the ideal relationships of man TO man; using the Creative Forces and ideals as the pattern.
40. The fields of activity or service should be those in
1991-1 Page 6
which there may be given to man, through the very creative influences and forces, the arousing of the greater force OF the relationships of the individual to the Creative Forces, as a teacher, an instructor in color, in harmony.
41. And learn - LEARN - deep within self - as ye give such lessons - to know, O child of God, that the Lord thy God is ONE!
42. Ready for questions.
43. (Q) Professional Problems: Will I continue to specialize in Music Education, through actual teaching and lecturing as well as in editorial work? (A) As has been indicated, this should be the field; and we should continue in such.
44. (Q) How long will I remain in my present location? (A) This will depend upon not only the external affairs as related to self and a nation, but as to individual groups. As we find, at least another two years.
45. (Q) If a change comes, in what part of the world can I do the most effective work? and will I travel? (A) In ANY portion of the world may the entity do effective work. Farther west, to be sure, in the own land, or in any other lands - which may become the opportunities in forty-five ('45).
46. (Q) Might California prove to be a desirable permanent location? (A) Very good.
47. (Q) Should I specialize in: a. Symphonic or other serious musical composition? b. Books to help adults to understand music? c. Invention of instruments in the musical field? (A) In the assistance to others to UNDERSTAND music AND its effect upon their very NATURES, is the greater field, and the field in which the greater expression, through which the emotions of self may find the greater outlet.
48. (Q) Should I continue my publishing business? If so, how can it be made successful? (A) As we find, with the greater stress upon those phases as have just been indicated, it should not only make for a greater income or the greater abilities to serve its purpose, but to become more of a successful undertaking materially as well as mentally.
49. (Q) Will my son be happy in conducting this business? (A) This should be approached from the son, rather than for the self. Rather not imposing upon others those motivating forces within thy own individual experience. As we find, it can be MADE to be a happy outlet for the son.
1991-1 Page 7
50. (Q) How can I make my Phonoscope and Symphonic Guides available to music lovers? Whom must I see to make it available? (A) Through those who are recognized as the greater instrument as well as publishers of such, are the outlet, - or in the Wurlitzer field of associations.
51. (Q) Whom should I see in this connection? (A) Those in those connections.
52. (Q) Will it be successful and produce the income necessary to leisure and security for doing unproductive creative work, such as writing symphonies? (A) It should.
53. (Q) Personal Relationships: Please throw light on my present home relationships with my wife, [...], with my daughter [...], and my son [...]? (A) These as we find are in the main most satisfactory, if they are viewed from those purposes and desires of each in giving their expressions in a very diffused field of expression in the present. Yet, as has been indicated, if there is first the finding of self and its relationships that it might bear in ideal activities in the relationships that are borne to each of these, and these made to be of the nature that is the very purpose of the activity to produce HARMONIOUS experiences in the very emotions as well as the heart force or soul force of each, these may be found to become more and more creative in their reactions; and thus bring greater joy, greater peace - which IS such peace as comes only in Him!
54. (Q) Will my collaboration with my brother, [...] in his musical inventions bring me any financial returns and, if so, when? (A) Within the next three to five years, yes. Before that time, only able to keep as it were ON the increase. But with the greater stress being placed upon those things as associated with such groups as we have indicated as being well to contact, greater growth and greater outlet for the use of these will become a part of the experience of many.
55. (Q) Are my present relations with [1947] ethically justifiable and may they be continued? (A) Be continued so long as they are in keeping with, "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."
56. (Q) Can we look forward to a permanent reunion in this life, and, if so, when? (A) This depends much upon choices that are made by each in those varied spheres of activity which lie between.
57. (Q) How will this be made possible without harm or suffering to those others now close to our lives?
1991-1 Page 8
(A) Not without harm or suffering to others.
58. (Q) My Relationship with The Cosmic Forces: What explicit things must I do to become better attuned to the forces that appear to be helping me in my creative work? (A) Know self, and self's ideals. Not merely as a passive thing, but as that as may be concrete examples in the activity of the relationships as one to another.
