Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Michigan.
1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, conditions are rather serious, from the physical angle, for this body.
4. The disturbing conditions are the involvement of the mucous membranes and tissue - as the covering about and through the intestinal system.
5. These at times become almost as a consuming fire. And with the pains as produced, and the inability of the proper assimilation that has come gradually - there has been produced a weakening of resistances in the system - as well as causing a great deal of anxiety.
6. These, as we find, are the disturbances with this body, [2041].
7. The blood supply indicates the character of the disturbance in the lack of body and blood building sufficiently to counteract all kinds of disturbing forces that arise from this inflammatory force.
8. The formations of gas through the intestines themselves, as well as the lower portions of duodenum, arise from the inability of the activity of the mucous membranes or lymph and peristaltic movement to nominally carry the digested forces, even when there is the fermentation through the system.
9. And this causes the great formation of gas at times that causes a disturbance to the better conditions of the system.
10. In the lower portions of the alimentary canal, or the colon itself, we find a great deal of mucous; and this is the indication of the inflammation through the intestines, which is also a part of the disturbance through these areas.

11. Then, these conditions weaken the system generally, making - as it were - a general "letting down" of the nerve supplies of the body.
12. As we find, then, -
13. The better conditions for the body may be attained through the body first being gently relaxed through the adjustments osteopathically to remove this general strain and tension throughout the cerebrospinal system - which would call for the greater activity of a general nature; though gently, but deeply done - to relax the body.
14. Take internally the Yellow Saffron (American Saffron) as a tea; about an ounce in the morning and an ounce in the afternoon - this made as regular tea.
15. In the diets, have preferably more of the liquid and semi-liquid foods, and those that are almost of a predigested nature; these are the better for the system.
16. Malted milk, as we find, would be preferable to the raw or the cow's milk.
17. These natures would be preferable - as junket, arrowroot, and such natures forming the principal portion of the diet. Of course, there may be taken the yolk of an egg well beaten, with a little milk, or with milk and a little sherry or wine, or spirits frumenti as a stimulant. Not so much of the white of the egg should be beaten in same, but rather the milk and the yolk and the like. These will be stimulating. Just a little of this would be taken at the time, you see - in rather sips, than large quantities. Two or three or four sips - and not spoonsful - taken often.
18. Also we would taken internally one-eighth grain of Animated Ash about twice each week. This would be emptied out of the capsule and washed down with water and swallowed, NOT taken in the capsule, see? and about ten minutes AFTER it has been swallowed, use the violet ray (hand machine, bulb applicator) over the lower portion of the stomach and across the abdomen.
19. Do these, and - as we find - we may bring the better influences and forces for this body.
20. Ready for questions.
21. (Q) What was the original cause of this condition? (A) It has arisen from infectious forces, or broken cellular force in the system. It may become of a burning nature, as indicated - or malignant.
22. We are through for the present. Copy to Husband - Air Mail " " Ass'n file

(See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for the Osteopath. We would refer you to: Dr. Crowder [S. A. Crowder, D.O.], or Dr. John R. Thompson, in the Industrial Bk. Bldg., Detroit, Mich., that is, provided you are not already acquainted with a sympathetic osteopath. See article [which was enclosed] explaining Animated Ash, and where obtained. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of this case to the time of obtaining the Reading, that we may have something with which to compare our information. This is valuable for our records.) cords.)
