Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Vermont.
1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. Now as we find, the conditions in the present are the result of the experiences of passing through a stage of high temperature; affecting the lymph circulation in the locomotories especially.
4. Thus the affectation to the lymph has caused to be brought about a form of atrophy, and hindrances in the locomotion.
5. Then, with the great activity that tired or produced such a usage of the energies that are supplied for locomotion, and with the lack of the sufficient circulation to remove the poisons of used energy, or the dross or ash of the energies in the system, we find that there has been produced a local infection.
6. Without this being cleansed, and without the removal of the pressures so as to cause a better circulation, there would be brought about greater infection, and a greater disturbance.
7. First, then, as WE find - in making applications - there should be the local attention to the diseased area, through the offices of a competent orthopedic surgeon. It is not necessary to remove other than the affected or diseased areas.
8. Then apply the Ultra-Violet Ray at regular intervals, two to three times each week, especially over the area from which the limbs obtain their impulse for activity; NOT over the diseased area. This would be applied for three to five minutes, and at least thirty-eight to thirty-nine inches

(38" to 39") from the body. Use the Mercury Light rather than the Carbon.
9. Also twice each week, for about thirty minutes at a period, use the Infra-Red. This ALSO should be over the areas of the sacral, lumbar AND the cerebrospinal system, rather than direct to the affected areas.
10. After these have been used for at least two weeks, begin with the osteopathic adjustments to remove the tensions; and use a good deal of massage over the limbs, that there may be a stimulated superficial as well as deeper circulation through the electrical Light applications that have been indicated.
11. The adjustments specific would be in the lumbar and sacral areas, and all portions of the cerebrospinal system from which the locomotories of the lower portion receive impulse.
12. The diet should be very well in keeping with that which is body and blood and nerve building; hence a great deal of raw spinach, carrot and celery juices - also citrus fruit juices; at least four to six ounces of each of these - not at the same time of day, but should be taken during each day.
13. Have a great deal of the vegetables that are of the leafy nature, rather than those of the bulbular nature.
14. Use fish and fowl, but not too much of the other meats should be taken.
15. These should all be WELL prepared.
16. Of course, there should be used a great deal of milk and such foods.
17. Do these, and as we find we may bring the better conditions for this body, [2049].
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) Is Dr. Hatt of Springfield, Mass., the best man to perform operation? (A) If that is satisfactory to the body, and all confidence is placed in same, and he will give the other treatments - that is, the Lights - afterwards, very well.
20. (Q) Would you recommend any other doctor? (A) If that is the one decided upon, why cause any disturbance?
21. (Q) Is the climate and surroundings in his permanent residence at ..., Vermont, good for the aid he needs, and can he get treatments near there? (A) He can get treatments near there. It isn't so much the climatic conditions as it is the determination to use the knowledge and the energies to carry on in fulfilling the purposes that are the desires of the body!
2049-1 Page 3
22. (Q) What exercise, if any, should body take to help improve the condition? (A) It isn't exercise, save that as will be mechanically (osteopathically) given! Then the general exercise as the body takes is very good.
23. (Q) What was the original cause that brought about the present condition in the leg? (A) As has been indicated. Infantile paralysis.
24. (Q) What mental aid can body bring to bear to help the healing faculties of the body? (A) That will depend, of course, upon the attitude of the body as relating to the mental and spiritual attitudes in relationships to others. These, of course, are NOT to be as dogmatic, but there must NEVER be any antagonism, nor blaming nor judging of others.
25. (Q) What field of endeavor is best for the body to make a livelihood now, considering present circumstances and condition, and in the future? (A) This has nothing to do with the physical forces! Use the energies in whatever direction is chosen!
26. We are through for the present. Copy to Self - Air Mail Special " " Ass'n file " " Miss [5416] (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Osteopath, when you are ready for these treatments. We would suggest that you have Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., N.Y.C., refer you to a good osteopath in your section. Let us know the name and address of the one you choose, so we may put him on our mailing list. At your convenience we would appreciate a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading, so we may have something with which to compare our information. This is valuable for our files.) [Note: Following questions and answers left out of main body of Reading, and copied separately, by request.]
26. (Q) Will the body be able to take on the responsibilities of marriage, and bring best welfare to body-physical and mental? (A) If it so desires, it may.
27. (Q) When will be the best time for body to enter marriage? (A) When it is physically fit.
28. (Q) Would the body and the girl who is present in the
2049-1 Page 4
same room at the same address, [5416], be well suited for one another in the marriage arrangement? Are they mentally well balanced for one another? (A) If there are those inclinations and determinations within the mind of each to make such associations and relations a helpful experience in the affairs of each, these would be very well. If there are doubts or fears on the part of either, no.
29. (Q) What advantages or disadvantages to weigh in the consideration of each before deciding on marriage? (A) This is to each; NOT for propagation or propaganda!
30. (Q) Will his injury be a handicap to their future welfare and happiness? (A) Not a handicap; rather it should be a stimulation to each, if there are the desires towards each of a constructive nature. For, as has just been indicated, if there is the determination in each to make the experience a helpful one, these will be used as stepping-stones rather than as hindrances - if the mind of each is in constructive or spiritual attitudes. We are through for the present. Two copies to Miss [5416] (one to be given to Mr. [2049]) Copy to Ass'n file
