Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [2067], N.Y.C., who seeks information, advice and guidance as to her life and work. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, [2067]; and those problems of every nature as confront the body at this time.

3. As we have indicated, in that field of writing and teaching the entity may find the greater outlet for its abilities; though there appears in the present to be no place or activity in which the body is immediately desired.

4. Be sure in self's own consciousness that there is a full compliance of self with the ideals the self has respecting its relationships to the Creative Forces. Evaluate the relationships in the light of self's own convictions respecting same, as to how the ideal may be expressed or manifested in the relationships with others.

5. Then set about filling ALL such in that manner which is in keeping with the abilities.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) Can you outline the general plan or major undertakings God wants me to accomplish from now until I lay down my present life? (A) God seeks that each soul be a manifestation of His influence as manifested in Jesus in the earth. As to the way in which an individual soul goes about expressing same - this is ever to be the choice of the individual entity. For, as ye know, and as has been well said - to some is given the gift of ministry, to some healing, to some preaching, to some teaching; some in one direction, some in another. As just indicated, choose thou - today - HOW and WHOM ye will serve; whether self or thy Creator. He desires that each soul GLORIFY - not justify but glorify Him in the

2067-6 Page 2

earth; through that He would have thee do in this experience.

8. (Q) Is it God's will that I combine teaching in some school with writing all the rest of my life, or for approximately how many years? (A) Again - there is no SET time. For, when ye have completed thy purpose and there are greater, better fields in which ye may serve, it will be pointed out to thee. Do not look upon thy service or thy activity in the light of having so many days or so many months, or so many years of active service. Rather do with all thy might and power and will what thy hands find to do, and thy mind, to glorify the love of the Father as manifested in the Christ, in thy relationships to thy fellow man. Whether there be one day or a thousand years, one month or ten that there is the service in teaching or in writing, DO TODAY that thy hands find to do! And let that be EACH day!

9. (Q) Am I qualified for the presidency of Chowan College and is this a part of God's plan for me this year or possibly in the future? (A) If this is the choice of self as a place of opportunity to serve thy ideal in thy relationships to teaching, then seek same. If there is the feeling that self would not have the opportunity of expressing self to the fullest of its ideal, because of any activity, whether such orthodox principles or what not, then it could only be halfhearted. ALL of self must be made as a manifestation of that ye seek to manifest. If this is the choice, seek same. As to qualifications - who is to say whether or not thy feelings in these directions would hinder thee from giving the best of self in service there, save thy own self? Hast thou not read how that Peter proclaimed his sincerity on the eve of the trial? Hast thou not read the warning the Master gave? Hast thou not also read that commendation, "WHEN thou art converted..."? When THOU art converted, STRENGTHEN thy brethren.

10. (Q) At Chowan where people are expected to believe in

2067-6 Page 3

"close communion" and to criticize those who do not, what would I do if cornered in regard to these beliefs? (A) Hast thou not that principle within self as He manifested, that there may be that in self as condemns no one? And no man condemns thee for never condemning! For, did He - the Master - not demonstrate that when those in authority or who were set in judgment proclaimed, "By our law she shall be stoned to death"? What was His answer? Did He deny the law? Did He not rather proclaim that they who were without sin be the first to cast the stone? Hence, - "Where are those thine accusers? No man remaineth, Lord. Neither do I condemn thee - sin no more." Let that thought, that principle, that purpose which prompted such, be thy answer - and not in words - rather in thy activity one with another.

11. (Q) Would my health and strength be sufficient to work all the year and summers gathering up students and doing publicity for the college? (A) If that is the purpose, it will!

12. (Q) Would not the position at Chowan College absorb the time God wishes me to use to present material to the world indicated in the Cayce Readings? (A) Live them - and the time for presenting will be given also.

13. (Q) If I accept the position in English at ..., S.C., would I be more in line with God's plan, since I would have the summers off for writing as well as time during the year? (A) As first indicated, search thine own heart as to the principle, the manner to meet thy ideals in a sincere service to others.

14. (Q) Regarding the position in English, would I be able to conceal my great interest in the Cayce work and allied subjects and be able to hold permanently this position, if I accept it? (A) Again, what is thy ideal? Ye cannot serve God and mammon! Ye MUST learn, even as He, OBEDIENCE - through the things YE have suffered! And in thy activity, let not thy good be evilspoken of.

15. (Q) With my next position has the time arrived when I should refuse to mention spiritual and psychic truths and hold my position, trusting to writing for the spiritual outlet? (A) LIVE them - rather than any expression that would cause animosity or feelings. Hast thou not read, "I will be all things to all men, that I may thereby save the more"?

2067-6 Page 4

These are principles that ye need to live, not merely say in words. For thy religion, thy Christianity, must be a practical, liveable, everyday thing; not merely a coat or a garment to be put on and off.

16. (Q) Is this English position the place where I am to meet my mate or companion about which I have formerly been told? (A) This again is the choice of thine own mind, according to "What seekest thou?"

17. (Q) Can I honor God also, along with hard work and unselfish conduct, by taking honors open to me in the future, such as - a. Applying for Phi Beta Kappa key promised me by a former college. b. Later, by having my name suggested for Who's Who when some books are published? c. By developing a college or organization of my own for spiritual study? (A) This can only be answered from within self, not by any influence outside of self. Know, as indicated, ye need conversion WITHIN! For, one may serve God sweeping the streets, scrubbing the floors, or as a king - or even as a dictator of a nation!

18. (Q) Since a "pen name" now seems necessary, can you suggest one with a pleasing sound and successful vibration? I have thought of "Oma White", "Gloria Hope", "Thesea Edell". (A) Thesea Edell is the better of these. But these are not as well as one that might be taken from thy activity indicated through the material plane in former appearances.

19. (Q) Which one, or ones, would be best? (A) Again, choose. Read, study, analyze what thy purposes were in each. In which of these did ye conform to thy own ideal, in a service to God and man? Then choose that.

20. (Q) About my books - what type of book am I fitted best to write? (A) That which is an illustration of man's approach to the divine, through the trials of the body, including the spiritual awakening and the variation or difference between physical and spiritual love.

21. (Q) Can you suggest anything further to do about my book How to Succeed in Love and Marriage, and what publisher would be likely to publish it? (A) As we find indicated, there are several portions of same that need to conform to that as may be gained by analyzing what we have just indicated. Then, as to publisher - any of those activities WE would give through some good agency, rather than appealing or

2067-6 Page 5

sending direct to a publisher.

22. (Q) This summer I expect to revise my book, Child of the New Era, and call it Psychic Experiences of Children - any suggestions as to further revisions, and what publisher would be interested? (A) As we find, the farther the individual stays away from the word "psychic" the better - unless it is first analyzed and determined as to its complete meaning - in the revising. Then present to thy agent for children's books.

23. (Q) I have gathered the historic material for my book Thesea, or Dawn of a New Day. Can you give me a suggestion as to plot, can you tell me what Thesea's other name was, by which she was known to history (which one of Herod's nine wives was she?), and can you tell how she was killed? (A) She was the third wife of Herod, killed by exposure and starvation. The name was just Thesea, or the entity was known by that name. As to plot, this has been outlined. [5/20/41 See 254-109, Par. 19-A re. Thesea.]

24. (Q) For my book to be written on Egyptian incarnation [See 294-147 thru 294-152] when people were losing animal appendages through the Temple Beautiful, I have found Thompson's Mysteries and Lore of Monsters which gives historical cases of mermaids, cyclops, centaurs. Did these man-animal combinations exist in large numbers 12,500 B.C.? (A) There is some confusion as to the conditions. Many existed in the period. But the loss of the animal appendages was through operative forces in the Temple of Sacrifice, not in the Temple Beautiful. There was also the preparation of individuals through reading and through the application of the laws of diet, as to make such appendages be gradually released entirely from certain types of individuals. Only those who had mixed with the thought forms had same, you see.

25. (Q) Please describe the ceremonies in the Temple by which the human-animal combinations could in a life-time lose a tail, or change a paw to a hand, or an animal body or head to a human. (A) As just indicated, surgery - as we would call it now.

26. (Q) How much transformation from the animal to the human could be completed in a life-time? (A) Little, save in the offspring - by the change of thought, diet, AND the operative forces. In the third or fourth generation it was completed.

27. (Q) Are there other books and material I can get to help on these transformations? (A) These would necessarily be in the form of the older

2067-6 Page 6

books written rather as legendary tales, see?

28. (Q) I am trying to write a book of humorous ghost stories to get truth before the public in an entertaining way. Do you have suggestions as to material, possible publishers, and success of such a book? (A) We would forget this, for at least two to three years.

29. (Q) I am thinking of writing a little book of humorous short stories. What are your suggestions as to material, publishers, and possible success? (A) These are very well. Human interest stories are preferable. Read some of those that were popular in 1902-3-4, short stories of such natures as these. Combine such from that type or style, and we will find that through thy agent most anyone will publish same.

30. (Q) What will be my future work with the Assoc. for Research & Enlightenment, and will the pamphlets, books, and moving pictures that I may be able to write be of success? (A) That must be a choice of self, and this will depend a great deal upon circumstances, activities, contracts, trades, changes that are to be and will be made in thy associations and connections. As to the writings - this again will depend upon the presentation, and the manner in which the ideas and not ideals are expressed.

31. (Q) What is the best way for me to get divine guidance for my numerous problems and enterprises? I pray all the time. (A) Turn within. There is no better way than reading and analyzing the last admonition of Moses to his people, in the last chapters of Deuteronomy, and the messages found in the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th chapters of St. John that were repeated over and over by John to the Mother of the Lord, who had so seldom heard the closer terms and descriptions used. Read these not with the attitude that you believe this, or do not believe that. As you read, apply the messages not just to anyone but to SELF - as though He, the Lord, were speaking alone with thee! Read only about five to ten verses each day. Then apply that given in those verses for a day! Then read five to ten more - apply that. You will find a regeneration. For, remember - thy body is the temple; there He has promised to meet thee. There ye may commune with Him - NOT outside! That from the outside must answer to that within. What is thy relationship to Him?

32. We are through for the present.
