1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2078].
3. Now as we find, there is rather the complication of disturbances, which prevent the better normal physical functioning.
4. These as we find have been of rather long standing, and have gradually grown - from time to time - to be more disturbing, and are a part of those disturbances which sometime ago caused a general nervous breakdown.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2078]:
6. In some times back, there were some teeth that caused a disturbance. Also there was a condition in the soft tissue of throat and nasal passages, of a catarrhal nature.
7. These gradually caused the absorption, or the draining into the system, of poisons.
8. Owing to a subluxation which exists in the upper dorsal areas (3rd and 4th), the slowing of the circulation or impulses through the liver, prevented the blood supply from taking care of these general excesses of poisons. And the nerve reflexes reacting to same DID cause, and bring about, a general nervous collapse.
9. In the present these same conditions have affected the area about the liver and gall duct, and gall bladder, in such manners as to hinder their proper reaction.
10. These find reflex reaction through the nerve pressures from the areas in the cerebrospinal system as indicated, as combined with the nerve flexure to head, nasal passage, and those areas in the whole of the vegetative nerve force - as to produce a continued reaction from digestive forces, or a headache - that is called the migraine nature.
2078-1 Page 2
11. The addition of sedatives, or palliatives, will only - then - create more drosses, so as to continue to produce - as does the disturbance in the gall duct - the improper eliminations.
12. Hence toxic forces throughout the alimentary canal are gradually bringing more and more, to those pressures created in the sympathetic nervous system, the reflex in the muscular forces - first in one extremity and then the other, or limb, or shoulder, or at times the head or face or back, or hand, or various portions of the body - in the form of neuritic reactions.
13. These, then, as we find, are the conditions to be reckoned with.
14. In the functioning of the system, the organs themselves have become sympathetically involved; and yet, owing to the general system attempting to keep active under the disturbed conditions, the body continues to keep going.
15. Hence we have a liver disturbance, bad assimilation or digestion at times; at times bad breath, at times conditions through the whole of the alimentary canal of poor eliminations; excesses at times of activities of the kidney and bladder, and at other times pains and distraughtness and weakness.
16. And whenever there is the attempt to use an active force, as of reading, or the use of the eyes, or any activity that would centralize the activities, unless it is able to gather its strength by the associations with numbers, it fatigues easily. Then after such an association or activity in group, or crowd, the body becomes especially fatigued.
17. As we find, then, in making the corrective forces for this body, ALL of these conditions as indicated must be taken into consideration; and the applications made in a consistent and persistent manner to work not only towards the correcting and eliminating of the disturbances, but toward the eradicating of the causes also.
18. As we find, while it may require a comparatively long period of consistent and practical and personal applications, these conditions may be eliminated - if there is the consistent and persistent use of the applications as may be suggested here.
19. Do not break over from the activities once begun, or in the administrations as to diets, nor in the consistency of taking all of the things suggested; else we may find relapses that would produce other disturbances, by the very compound or complex conditions which exist.
20. First, then, begin with these as the first portion of
2078-1 Page 3
the suggested treatments:
21. Each day, after the heavier meal, whether it is noon or evening, take a small dose - half a teaspoonful - of ALCAROID. First dissolve this amount in a small quantity of water, then fill the glass with water and drink - then drink another glass of water afterwards.
22. At least twice each week - say Tuesdays and Thursdays - apply the hot Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the gall duct and caecum area. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel, of sufficient size to cover the area over the liver, and extending down to the lower portion of the groin on the right side and over to the middle portion of the abdomen. Wring out the flannel in the hot Castor Oil and apply direct to the body, covering it with cloth to prevent the messiness (for it's messy enough in itself!), and then cover with oil cloth, putting an electric pad over same. Allow this to remain on the body for at least an hour.
23. Then each week following the Packs - say, on Friday - take the CAROID and BILE SALTS Tablets; one tablet after the morning meal, one tablet after the noon meal, TWO tablets after the evening meal.
24. The next day - even with the flushing that this may give - after the bowels have flushed - take a colonic irrigation. This is to cleanse the colon of the poisons that will have been as accumulations in the system from the use of such applications.
25. After the third week of using these applications - in the manner indicated - rest for about three days; that is, leave off the application, see?
26. Then begin with the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, to give quietude and stamina to the general nervous system. Use it about an hour each day, as the body rests, and circulate the attachments about the body in the manner as ordinarily indicated for same. Use regularly for a period of a week to ten days, then leave off a few days - then begin again - and so on. This will bring great quietude and rest to the body, equalizing the whole nervous system.
27. At the same time the Radio-Active Appliance is begun, begin with the osteopathic adjustments to correct the subluxations which exist specifically in the 3rd and 4th dorsal, as well as loosening or stimulating the ganglia from that area to the base of the head, as well as in the coccyx area and in the lumbar and the 9th dorsal. These would be given twice each week, until at least ten such treatments have been given.
28. Now, as to the diet:
29. Through the period that the first applications are being
2078-1 Page 4
made, use a great deal of liquid and semi-liquid foods. Plenty of fruit juices. Plenty of vegetable juices - both raw and cooked.
30. Have a great deal of soups - as from wild game, or vegetables, or even beef broth, mutton broth and the like.
31. No hog meat at any time.
32. Cereals - as the cracked whole wheat (cooked a long time), the combinations of wheat and barley (as in Maltex), and the rolled oats and steel cut oats - all of these should be a principal portion of the diet.
33. Sweets should be mostly honey, and not cane sugar.
34. Do these - and then when there is the beginning of the Radio-Active Appliance, and the osteopathic applications, the diet may be changed to more of the vegetables themselves, and fish, fowl and lamb. These then may become the greater part of the diet.
35. But keep the flushing of the system for the better eliminations; and we will bring for this body near to normal conditions.
36. Ready for questions.
37. (Q) Is the gall bladder or liver condition serious? (A) It may become so, as we have indicated, unless measures are taken for the correction of same.
38. (Q) Do the occasional traces of blood when I vomit (during migraine attacks) mean anything? (A) Just that as we have indicated - the disturbance of the liver and the gall duct area. It's the straining, of course, and is more from the throat, and not a hemorrhage from the stomach at all.
39. (Q) Should I take more exercise, such as long walks, or should I rest more? (A) The exercise should not be so much - that is, not such LONG walks, especially through the early portion of the applications indicated; but the body should be in the open as much as possible, and gradually - as more strength is gained - the exercise may be greater. Walking is the better exercise; and when taking walks, before walking eat half a lemon; and then after walking, eat the other half - with salt. The first would be without salt. Then drink plenty of water.
40. (Q) What is the nature of the small lump which appeared recently in my left breast? (A) This as we find is only a matter of a glandular clogging. With the general drainage of the system set up, and the stimulations through those activities indicated, this should of itself disappear. If it does not, then the glandular force will need some stimulation by massaging the
2078-1 Page 5
area with a small quantity of Cocoa-Butter; not over the breast, but over the area of the mammary glands, under the arm.
41. (Q) Is my increasing need of glasses due to ill-nourished nerves? (A) More from the GENERAL disturbance and weakness of the system. All of these weaknesses, to be sure, will necessarily be aided if those applications suggested are consistently and systematically followed. Then, the glasses may be fitted for the eyes, to prevent the strains that may come from close work of writing, sewing or the like. Do not have them changed so much, or fitted, until after the periods at least of beginning the second or third week of the osteopathic adjustments. Do these things, and we will find these will be the necessary forces, and will gradually reduce the headaches - eliminating them entirely.
