1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2085]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, conditions are somewhat changed from those we have had here before; yet the sources or causes of the disturbances arise primarily from the same kind of condition - the inability of the body to properly assimilate the foods taken, owing to those activities through the liver, the gall duct, and the balance in the lactic fluids.
4. Superacidity more often arises, causing a great deal of gas - at times; as well as pains through the abdomen, and especially through the caecum and through that area where the jejunum enters the colon.
5. These are the sources of the greater disturbances.
6. The conditions have been improved - and the taking of such food values as to cause the upset has brought about these disturbances in the present.
7. These are the precautions that should be taken, if there would be brought about better conditions:
8. First - we find that there should be more of the osteopathic adjustments, with special reference given to stimulating the areas that assist the duodenum in emptying the foods. We would take these treatments twice a week until about fifteen or sixteen have been taken.
9. There should be precautions not to take ANY stimulating drinks, or carbonated drinks, or those that carry an excess quantity of alcohol, or even foods that carry a plus quantity of alcohol in the system - such as sweets or the like.
10. To assist in creating a better balance in the digestion,
2085-3 Page 2
take five to six drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in a little water, with each meal.
11. Twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - take with the heavier meal of the day a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth and ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred together in two-thirds of a glass of water.
12. If there is the feeling of fullness through the abdomen, or gas, take half a teaspoonful of Alcaroid - first dissolved in a small quantity of water, then the glass filled, and then another glass of water taken afterward.
13. Instead of too much laxatives, we would take an enema about twice a week; not necessarily a colonic irrigation. However, if soreness or fullness continues in the caecum area, have a colonic irrigation - professionally given.
14. But the foods watched, with the treatments and properties taken as indicated, there should be a tendency toward better eliminations.
15. Be precautious as to the diet. Keep away from too much sweets and from too much rare meats.
16. Have plenty of vegetables, but preferably the green or leafy variety rather than the dried; these well cooked. The fresh vegetable juices we would not take - these we would leave off entirely - with the increasing of the quantities of cooked leafy vegetables and cooked fresh vegetables. Especially we would leave off the fresh vegetable juices through the periods of taking the digestants as indicated, for changing the digestive fluids.
17. Have plenty of fruits; these rather varied.
18. Not too much of nuts, but almonds may be taken - and filberts; though other characters are too heavy in the present.
19. These do, and we will bring better conditions for the body.
20. Ready for questions.
21. (Q) Is more iron needed in my blood? If so, how may I acquire it? (A) Not more than would be acquired or assimilated from the taking of the greater quantity of the leafy vegetables.
22. (Q) What causes the capillaries to break and little red spots to appear on skin? (A) The superacidity, as we have indicated, and the tendencies for the capillaries to fill. Not coordinated eliminations. Thus the particular reference, in the osteopathic adjustments, to DRAINING or emptying the system - especially the stomach and duodenum, see?
23. (Q) What causes pains and dullness especially after resting?
2085-3 Page 3
(A) Superacidity, and that producing pressure - of course - upon the nerves of the digestive system.
24. (Q) Is the trouble in the gall bladder, the liver or both? (A) These are so closely connected or associated, the trouble is in both - to be sure.
25. (Q) Has the sagging of stomach and intestines improved? (A) This has improved considerably; but with this creating of gas and these disturbing pains it has tended to become a possibility - and is part of the trouble. Of course, with the eliminations increased and the setting up of better drainages, this should be improved. Do as we have outlined for the better conditions for this body.
