R E A D I N G
Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2148].
3. Now as we find, while there are some acute conditions that need corrections, there are more basic conditions also which must be considered - not only in those things that would be given for helping the acute condition but to aid in adjusting the equilibrium of the body, that its developments may be nearer normal.
4. In the present we find the cold and congestion from same is the more acute condition, and it is more effective through the digestive system than in the bronchi or lungs so much; yet there is congestion there also.
5. Then there is the disturbance basically with the glandular system.
6. As we find in the present, then:
7. Almost immediately, or as soon as practical, apply an Onion Poultice over the chest, as well as between the shoulders. Do not make the poultice too strong, else it would be too severe for the developing body. Chop the onions very fine, heat them - or cook them until they are about half done, you see; keeping most of the juice with same - preferably cook them in Patapar Paper, this would be the better way. Then mix just sufficient raw corn meal with same to make into a poultice, not too thick but just sufficient to allow the poultice to be applied - between gauze - directly to the body. For this body, preferably use the YELLOW corn meal. Apply the poultice while it is still warm, you see. Leave it on for at least thirty minutes. Then if there is not a

change in the congestion, in twenty-four hours, put it on again - making a fresh poultice, of course.
8. As soon as the poultice is taken off, begin with broken doses of a good eliminant. The better, as we find, is Fletcher's Castoria; this to be taken in very small doses; just a few drops, three to six drops, taken about every two hours apart.
9. Also every hour - and every other hour being taken immediately following the Castoria, you see - take one drop of Glyco-Thymoline in a teaspoonful of water.
10. Keep up the Glyco-Thymoline even after there has been a full reaction from the Castoria, or until the odor of the Glyco-Thymoline can be detected in the stool.
11. The thing to be more fearful of here is colitis, and the activity of the congestion upon the assimilating system.
12. We would change the diet to those combinations which are not so strong, but that may be altered more from time to time by the addition of the calcium or lime in same. WE would use the Carnation Milk, with the dextrin in same, see? Use the regular formula for the age, but WEAKEN same in the present.
13. Then, at least every time following the bath, we would gently massage over the area of the kidneys (on the back), as well as between the shoulders and back of the head, a compound prepared in the proportions of at least two to three drops of Spirits of Turpentine in a tablespoonful of Cocoa Butter. The activity of this upon the system will be the better, and make for the better conditions with this body.
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Did the doctor's medicine do him any harm? (A) We haven't the doctor! We only have the effects upon the system! Use these as we have suggested, or use the doctor's! Choose between the two!
16. (Q) Why won't he take his milk? (A) It's very well he doesn't! owing to the condition which has been indicated in the digestive system!
17. (Q) How soon can he be taken outdoors? (A) This will depend upon the responses of the body to the applications indicated.
18. (Q) Should he sleep in a heated room? (A) Heated, to be sure; but plenty of fresh air in same, - but keep the body warm. Do these, as we find for the body.
19. We are through for the present.
