Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2154].
3. Now as we find, conditions in most respects are very good.
4. There are rather those disturbances concerning which the body should be warned, and not underrate nor become overanxious about some of those conditions which at times cause uneasiness or disturbing forces.
5. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2154] we are speaking of:
6. First, in the blood supply we find indications of the inclination toward poor eliminations through the alimentary canal; and this is inclined to produce toxic forces that cause a poor coordination between the superficial and the deeper circulation.
7. Hence those disturbances as a rash, or blackheads, or pimples, or large pores - all of these are at times indicated.
8. Then, to allow such disturbances to go without there being done something to create a balance may bring about either constitutional disturbances or those of a more specific nature, if there were to be stress or strain upon some individual organism - or the body exposed to conditions which, through the inclination existent, might fasten themselves upon the constitutional activities of the body itself.
9. These as we find indicate that there is the tendency to be too much of the red blood cells, that - with this poor elimination through the alimentary canal - tends to form blotches or splotches at times through the superficial circulation, in the attempt of the perspiratory system to
2154-2 Page 2
eliminate these poisons.
10. The nervous system we find is very good in the main, though at the periods of the monthly eliminations we find there comes an unrest or an activity that causes anxieties to the body.
11. These are only the result of the disturbances through the incoordination in the circulatory forces of the superficial and the deep circulation, as indicated.
12. In the organs themselves of the body, we find:
13. Brain forces are very good. Discernments and reflexes are very good.
14. At times the nerve pressures, at periods of poor eliminations, cause the organs of the sensory system to be affected; as the vocal cords, the vision, the hearing, the taste - these all, or one and then the other, may become in a state of exaggeration.
15. These are conditions concerning which the warnings should be taken, especially that corrections be made in the conditions indicated, for these would be the more sympathetic or easy portions of the body to come under the stress or strain - as indicated in the disturbance which at times arises through the congestion in soft tissue of nasal passages, throat, and through the trachea and bronchi.
16. The activity of the lungs we find very good.
17. Heart's activity is near normal, save the quickening of the pulsation with the periods when there are the disturbances in the coordinating of the circulatory forces.
18. In the digestive forces - here we find some chemical unbalance. This is the source or cause of poor eliminations at times through the alimentary canal.
19. Also we find a source of the disturbances with this body is a subluxation which exists in the 2nd and 3rd cervical, and in the 3rd and 4th dorsal. These areas are in accord with the organs of the sensory system. Thus the supersensitiveness of the sensory organs, which receive their impulse from these nerve forces, as well as the circulation; also from this incoordination we find that there is a slowing in the emptying of the duodenum from the digestive forces of the system.
20. Hence in making corrections, we would first give that there be one, two to three GENERAL osteopathic manipulations; with special or specific reference (in each adjustment made) to the dorsal and cervical areas indicated; coordinating the lumbar axis with same.
21. Also we would take a series of the hydrotherapy treatments as combined with the osteopathic treatments; that is, once a week - until four or five are taken - have a Dry
2154-2 Page 3
Cabinet Sweat, followed by a thorough massage and rubdown with oils, as well as the hot and cold water.
22. About once in eight weeks we would also have a Colonic, to eliminate the poisons that will be accumulated as excesses by the osteopathic adjustments, as well as by the stimulated elimination.
23. We would begin immediately with the use of small but consistent and concerted doses of ENO SALTS; a teaspoonful each morning before breakfast for five mornings; leave off five days, and then begin again. Continue in this manner for at least three to four such series, or a period to cover all of the adjustments and the hydrotherapy treatments. This is a fruit compound or salts that will act upon the system with the corrections which need to be made, as we have indicated; to produce better eliminations and better activities throughout the body.
24. As to the diet - each day have at least an ounce of vegetable juices; such as a combination of lettuce and carrots especially, and at times including celery juice - to strengthen the general nerve forces of the body. These would be the raw juices, of course.
25. Keep away from fats, fried foods, white bread and white potatoes.
26. Have plenty of vegetables, raw and cooked.
27. Have little of meats, save fish, fowl or lamb.
28. As a cream or base for the better condition of face, arms and limbs - we would use the GENUINE Black and White preparations. These are preferable to most of the compounds, that carry leads or poisonous conditions for the skin.
29. Also a lotion for the hands, arms or face, prepared in this manner, will be good for this particular body:
30. To 2 ounces of Grain Alcohol, add - in the order named: Rose Water................4 ounces, Oil of Lavender..........30 minims, Pure Olive Oil........1 1/2 ounces.
31. Do these things, and we will bring normal conditions for this body.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) Do my tonsils need removing? (A) Not if there is the proper coordination created between the superficial and deeper circulation. Remember, the tonsils are a channel through which poisons are eliminated; but if the circulation is disturbed, as here, these must become involved and constitutionally cause disturbance.
34. (Q) Should I wear glasses?
2154-2 Page 4
(A) Not necessarily, if there are the better reactions for the sensory forces as indicated.
35. (Q) What is the cause of headaches? (A) Toxic forces in the body!
36. (Q) Is the breaking out on my hands from the same cause? (A) Yes, and on other parts of the body also!
37. (Q) What shampoo should be used for my hair? (A) Vitalis. Do these things, and we will bring the normal forces for this body, [2154].
38. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (8/2/40 GD's note: See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Dr. Hudgins. If he does not give the Dry Cabinet Sweat, he can refer you to Dr. Ober - who bought the Cabinet which was especially made for such a purpose by the Cayce Hospital. However, it is better that Dr. Hudgins give the adjustments and just REFER you to Dr. Ober for the hydrotherapy; so that you'll be sure to get everything AS indicated in the Reading. The GENUINE Black and White products may be secured at Meredith's Drug Store, 17th St., Va. Beach. We had them order these, as we could not find them in Norfolk. It is NOT Plough's Black and White, made in St. Louis and put up in tins, but GENUINE Black and White made in Chicago and put up in white jars with black top and lettering.) ing.)
