1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2164].
3. As we find, there are conditions which prevent the near normal physical functioning. These have to do with conditions which have existed, or gradually grown in the system, from a disturbed circulation; affecting organs of the sensory system through the lack of the nerve impulse to supply the energies needed.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2164] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. First, in the blood supply - in the present we find an inclination towards a form of anemia. We find that there HAVE existed the effects of a disturbance in the glandular force of the system that supplies through the assimilating system.
6. This first caused a disturbance of a catarrhal nature, - through the soft tissue of face, throat and head; which eventually caused that which has disturbed the equilibrium not only of the digestive and assimilating system but caused a partial prolapsus in the Eustachian tubes; affecting then the auditory forces in the system.
7. Warnings respecting this kind or character of anemia should be indicated, and those measures taken for the correction of same, with the administrations for corrections of that which has been produced by these disturbances through the system.
8. In the nervous forces of the body - the natural tendencies arising from a disturbed circulation of a glandular nature are for the nerves to become involved as a
2164-1 Page 2
result, and not as the primary cause; though their effects - or the effects of the pressures produced through the system in the present upon the nervous system - DO influence the nervous system's connection between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems; especially in the areas where subluxations were caused or produced by the first forms of affectation - producing a disturbance that arises from the nervous system; as the conditions in which there is the inability of the PHYSICAL nervous force or CENTRAL nervous system AND the sympathetic or vegetative system to at all times coordinate.
9. This disturbs the body in its ability to recall or to remember immediately that it desires, though the memory is NOT disturbed.
10. Again the affectation through the nervous system is to disturb the body at or during the periods of physical rest.
11. These effects will be corrected, or will respond to the applications which we will suggest for better physical activity.
12. As to the functioning of the organs of the body - brain forces and their reflexes are very good.
13. Organs of the sensory system, as indicated, are more involved; as the vision at times, and the auditory forces or hearing - which is gradually being disturbed by the prolapsus in the Eustachian tube.
14. The conditions through throat, bronchi and larynx, - here, as there is the effect of this form of anemia disturbing the body, there are the feelings of uneasiness at times, and the inclination for the body to react acid; and this upsets the digestive or assimilating forces.
15. In the lungs, the heart and the hepatic circulation, - we find that the heart's activities are irregular at times, though no organic disturbance; rather the nervous disturbance as affected through the circulation, as indicated.
16. The lungs clarify very well, though the blood supply - as indicated - is lacking in sufficient of the hormones in the hemoglobin of the blood for the proper replenishing and rebuilding at all times; thus causing periods when the body becomes easily tired in response to any physical or mental activities of great length.
17. In the hepatic circulation - here, as we find indicated, is the glandular disturbance, or the disturbance in the creating or producing of the proper balance in the assimilation of foods taken. And the condition arose first from affectations as indicated, that became gradually the source of that causing - through the soft tissue of the face
2164-1 Page 3
and head - disturbances to the sympathetic nervous system's activity.
18. The lower hepatic circulation, or the activities through the kidneys and the bladder, the eliminations through the alimentary canal - these have gradually slowed in their activity.
19. The kidneys and bladder we find at times irregular, owing to the attempt of the system to eliminate the excess acids produced in other portions of the system indicated.
20. As we find, in making administrations which would be helpful and remove the causes, the sources of the disturbance:
21. We would begin first with corrections osteopathically, by breaking up the lesions as caused along the Eustachian tube. As we find, not more than one operation (osteopathically given) would be necessary (not by knife or surgery of that type, but FINGER surgery, osteopathically administered); though several weeks of osteopathic treatments generally in preparation for same would be required, and several weeks of activity (through such treatments) to stimulate and relieve the pressures in the cerebrospinal system; especially in the lower cervical and the upper dorsal area, as well as stimulating the 6th dorsal to remove that inclination for the lack of sympathetic activity through the glands of the digestive system.
22. Also, to supply the coordinating vibration between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal or central nervous system, with the equalized energies in the body, we would use the Radio-Active Appliance. Use this at least an hour each day, with the attachments circulated about the body in the manner ordinarily indicated for such. Keep the plates clear or polished before making the application or attachment at each period.
23. Doing these, and with the diets that are body, blood and nerve building, we will bring much nearer, much more normal activity of this body.
24. Now as to the diets:
25. At least once a week (but not more than that) we would add the Jerusalem artichoke in the diet. This preferably for this body would be taken raw; one not larger than a guinea egg or the like, and taken WITH the regular meal.
26. Use a great deal of properties or foods that supply Vitamin B-1 in the diet. These we would find in carrots, squash, peaches, and such foods. Whole wheat cereal (the cracked or crushed wheat), or cut oats (not rolled oats), or the combinations or wheat and rye (as in Maltex or the like) - these - not all taken at once, but distributed
2164-1 Page 4
through the diet from day to day - are well for the body.
27. During the periods especially when there is the use of the Radio-Active Appliance, we would use these periods as the periods for meditation; that there may be brought a better coordination between the nervous systems of the body, at such periods opening - through suggestions to self in meditation or prayer - the centers that coordinate the spiritual forces and influences with the mental and the physical body; using as a guide (though in thine own words) such as this:
28. FATHER, GOD! IN THY LOVE, IN THY MERCY, BE THOU THE GUIDE: THAT MY BODY, MY MIND, MY SELF, MAY FULFILL THY PURPOSE IN THIS MATERIAL PLANE AT THIS TIME.
29. And keeping such attitudes in the relationships day by day with thy fellow man, we will find we will bring the near normal forces in this body.
30. Ready for questions.
31. (Q) What causes the stiffness and pain in the neck? How can it be remedied? (A) As indicated, these pressures are caused by the conditions through the soft tissue of the head and the face, and the incoordination between the vegetative nervous system and the cerebrospinal. With the osteopathic corrections as we have indicated necessary in the cervical and dorsal, by the general manipulation, these tensions will be relieved.
32. (Q) Is there any connection between the arthritis and deafness? Please explain. (A) There is little or no connection. For, one is an affectation of the auditory forces through the Eustachian tube, while the other is the affectation to the muscular force as it joins with the tendons of the bones or muscles; thus produced by deposits from the lack of eliminations from the system, by the excess acids in the body. The characters of foods and the activities indicated to be mechanically (osteopathically) administered, will remove the causes and thus eliminate both disturbances which are as a part of general conditions.
33. (Q) What is the best way to regulate the eliminations? (A) Through the diet, AND osteopathic correction of those subluxations or pressures in the cerebrospinal system that have slowed up circulation - but stimulating a better circulation by the manner of diet indicated, both as to nerve and blood supply.
34. (Q) What was the cause of the melancholia which lasted for 19 years? (A) The breaking of the circulation between impulses of the sympathetic and the central or spinal nervous system;
2164-1 Page 5
causing a casement as it were BETWEEN the two nervous systems, and producing a condition - as we have outlined - at the base of the cerebrospinal system, at the base of brain, a fullness there.
35. (Q) What has been the cause of my constant overweight? (A) The unbalancing in the diet as to those things that supply sugars or building materials that produce weight, and NOT eliminated. The properties indicated to be taken once each week (the Jerusalem artichoke) will aid in eliminating sugars from the system.
36. (Q) What can be done to improve the condition of my eyes? (A) That as will affect the nerves of the sensory system, aiding and stimulating them for better activity, will aid ALL of the sensory reactions; eyes, ears, taste, the sensitiveness to the activities without and within; and the controlling of same will be in the suggestions as made through the periods of coordinating the circulation through the system (the periods of meditation while using the Appliance). Do ALL of those things suggested, not as something just to be done, but seeing, knowing that each has its part, its place in making the adjustments in the body-physical and mental, that the spiritual activity may predominate.
37. (Q) Is there anything I am now doing, or medicine I am taking, which should be stopped? as these treatments here suggested are begun? (A) We would leave off all those things save those that are NECESSARY to keep the equilibrium; for the SYSTEM will make for that creating IN the body of those forces necessary to supply elements for not only the adjustments but the correcting of the conditions.
38. (Q) Should there be exercise? How much? Please describe. (A) The treatments or applications made mechanically (osteopathically) are naturally a character of exercise. Exercise in the open air - as walking, as just sitting in same - is necessary. Walking and swimming are the best exercises.
39. (Q) Why do I have certain peculiar reactions to prayer? (A) Analyze the prayer suggested here, and we will see. As has been indicated, there needs to be a better coordination between, or a oneness of, the physical, mental and spiritual being. Know that the body is indeed the temple of the living God, as relates to thee; but it may not be set up as an idol within thine own temple. It should be as presented in the Way - that in the giving ye possess the power, the strength, the healing, the ministration, the giving of all those forces and influences that are of a creative nature.
2164-1 Page 6
Know that the Lord is One, and manifests same in thee! Those influences from without - as has been indicated - whether of a mechanical or a dietary or of whatever nature - are in their activities a part OF that Oneness, and CREATE that in their activity in thy body! Do as has been indicated, and we will find - in three to six months - near to normal conditions.
40. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (4/8/40 GD's notes at time of reading: See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Osteopathic Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist. We would suggest that you get Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., New York City, to refer you to one closer by, if it is impossible to go to New York. Let us know the name of the one you choose, so we may put him on our list. See pamphlet [which was enclosed] explaining, and sheet of directions for using, the Radio-Active Appliance, which Mrs. [1158] is going to lend to you. The Jerusalem artichoke, if not on the market, may be obtained from John A. Salzer Seed Co., LaCrosse, Wisconsin. If you obtain them in that way, it is best to plant them in the ground so they will keep long enough for you to use them. At your convenience, please let us have a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading, so that we may have something in our files with which to compare our information.) rmation.)
