1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2165].
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which affect the body. These are both pathological and psychological.
4. But in this body, the psychological conditions are the EFFECT of a pathological condition. While there are hindrances in the activities of the system, these are the effects in the nervous system, and - while they have to do somewhat with reflexes, and thus a nervous disturbance - there is a pathological condition, or a physical cause for the mental and psychological effects.
5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2165] we are speaking of:
6. In the blood supply we find very good conditions - near to normal pulsation and activity.
7. In the nervous system we find the effects of pressures that have deflected the activity of the sensory and sympathetic nervous system; to the extent that portions - as a reflex in the body - become deadened; though not destroyed, not atrophied.
8. Thus they may be aided, in bringing back near to normalcy for this body; and it may have a near normal life experience.
9. This will require caution, consistency, persistency, not only on the part of those who make applications for the correction of the disturbance but also on the part of those who watch the developments and the reactions that will
2165-1 Page 2
naturally take place as these pressures are removed.
10. As we find, in some time back there was an injury to the end of the spine, by a fall. This caused a congestion, with the effects of a germ in the system of cold or congestion there, with the enlargement and the curving portion of the end of the spine.
11. Thus pressures were produced upon the nerve system as related to cerebrospinal impulse; and with the effect of the temperature and the germ upon the lymph AND the nerve system, the sympathetic system, there became an engorgement of an area just below the last cervical, the 1st dorsal, even to the 3rd.
12. This affectation finds its reflex in the sensory reactions.
13. Thus we find the vocal cords, the vision, the reactions to suggestions, are the effect; the periods of tantrums, those reactions in which it does those things in just direct opposition to suggestions - these are the result.
14. Then, these are not diseased conditions, but - as indicated - are purely a reflex of a psychological nature, by a pathological condition existent in the system.
15. We would, then, remove those pressures in the lower end of the spine (by osteopathic means); reducing the pressures in the dorsal and cervical area; COORDINATING the 9th dorsal and lumbar plexus so that there is no retardment - as there is at times - in the ability of the body in locomotion, either for hand or for the lower limbs.
16. This would require some twelve to fifteen such adjustments, to make corrections.
17. Then, after these have been made, we would aid the system by those administrations which will rebuild the nerve tissue to the reflexes of the brain, as related to the hearing, seeing, the speech, the feelings through the system in the reactions.
18. This would be accomplished by the use of the low electrical vibrations carrying Gold into the system, through the Wet Cell Appliance. The attachments would be made as follows: The smaller copper plate would be attached one time to the 4th dorsal, the next time to the 9th dorsal, the next time to the 4th lumbar; alternated from day to day in this manner. The larger nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to one ounce of Distilled Water) would be ALWAYS attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct center, and on this body three fingers toward the right - and one finger up - from the umbilical or navel center. Make these attachments for thirty minutes each day. Change

the Gold Solution every fifteen days, and recharge the Appliance every thirty days.
19. Do these, and we will bring near to normal conditions; and not in a great length of time required, but specific, consistent and direct activity in alleviating these conditions as we find existent.
20. The better manner to carry out these applications, as we find, would be under the supervision of one such as Kirk; and his directions followed in the Rosehill School there, close to Philadelphia. There we may find cooperation, not only by the ones administering the corrective measures, but also in the school a sympathetic reaction to the general conditions which exist.
21. And in a year to a year and a half we should have near normal conditions.
22. Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) How often should the osteopathic adjustments be made each week? (A) At least twice each week.
25. (Q) Any suggestions for diet of specific nature for the body? (A) As indicated, the general health is not affected; but there should be a normal diet, a normal exercise as much as practical in the open; and a great deal of love, a great deal of affection shown the body, as the changes come; and we will bring bettered conditions for this body. It is nerve and nerve reflex, a pathological condition and a psychological reaction.
26. We are through for the present. Three copies to Parents - (one for Dr. Elisha T. Kirk, 20 W. Baltimore Ave., Media, Penna; one for Rosehill School, Chester Hts., Penna.) (See article [which was enclosed] explaining theory of Wet Cell Appliance.) )
