Born April 2, 1890, in Barre, Vermont. Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. HLC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes, we have the records of that entity now known as or called [2173].
4. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, some very unusual aspects of these present themselves.
5. The entity's life seal is of an unusual design; not as a shield, not as a falchion, yet resembling such; rather the French FORMER seal, before the fleur de lis, yet bearing some semblance of same.
6. We find that the experience through the earth's sojourn has never been one that might be termed as a bed of roses, or of splendor; yet rarely (save mentally) one of great want as to physical things or conditions; yet the entity in some experiences has made of itself a servant.
7. And, He gave that the one who would be the greatest among his fellows would be the servant of all.
8. In interpreting the records as we find them, then:
9. There are the urges which arise from those periods of sojourn during the interims between the earthly incarnations, or during the lapses between the varied

material sojourns. Here we term these astrological sojourns, - not necessarily because of the position of the stars or planets, or any phase of the moon or the sun being an impelling influence, but because rather that the entity is a part of creation and a co-worker with the divine influence or force. Consequently the stars and the planets, the various phases of conditions, are in a certain position at the time of ANY given entrance, because of what the entity did ABOUT the divine influence or force!
10. For, in that creation in which souls of men were given the opportunity to become aware of those forces without themselves, when time and space began, there was given that incentive for each entity, each soul, in whatever environment it might be, to make a manifestation of its (the entity's) awareness OF its relationships to the Creative Forces, or God.
11. Hence the information given here, or the interpretation of the records as we find them here, is chosen for a helpfulness to this entity in seeking to know why it entered this present experience or sojourn.
12. For, as we have indicated, the entrance of a soul is not by chance, but that the abilities may be used - that have been attained by an entity - to again fulfillthat purpose for which it was created, or for which it was given consciousness - or awareness - as to its ability to know its relationships.
13. Thus, irrespective of what the entity has done or may do, there is within itself the records of what it has done, upon the skein of time and space.
14. In the present experience, then, urges arise from such awarenesses, or such sojourns. Astrologically, we find Venus, the Moon, Jupiter, Uranus and Saturn as the more IMPRESSIVE upon the activities of the entity in the present.
15. We find that these indicate definite tendencies or trends, as to the manners in which the entity would think or react, innately. Yet also there is indicated the manner in which it is influenced by its relationships to others.
16. In Venus we find the appreciation of the beautiful; especially home, home relationships; and especially of friends, and as to what the word friend means - or should indicate - in the experiences of others.
17. Few realize as this entity that no one individual may have too many friends; that neither is there any individual who has so many friends that it can afford to lose one!
18. This is a condition - yea, a virtue in the entity; and indeed those may count themselves fortunate who are found worthy of being called friend by the entity. For the entity

will be a helpful influence, not attempting to impose nor to superimpose self, but giving that needed to create hope and help in their experiences, under WHATEVER may be the circumstance.
19. Too much stress could not be placed on this, for in same may the entity indeed find that harmony which comes from such experience and application - in that it is not those who seek to do some great deed, or to arouse some throng to such an activity as to revolutionize, but Lo - as has been ever given - it is not in the tempest, nor in the storm, but rather in the still small voice.
20. And this may be aroused by a kindly deed, a gentle word spoken when there is turmoil or strife, a brotherly hand held out, patience - which the entity must learn; with that appreciation of the beauty in its life, in its experience, - and in patience ye will glimpse indeed thine own soul and its growth in the presence of thy Maker.
21. For, know - thy angel stands before Him, ever; and He, thy God, is mindful of thee.
22. In Jupiter we find the benevolent forces. And, as the entity has experienced - in the last season or year, yes, within the last two years, and still existent in the present - Jupiter, Venus and Uranus have been very prominent in their influence.
23. Hence closer ties in friendships have existed than before, because of thy adherence to the inclination to HEAR twice as much as ye speak of!
24. In Uranus we find the extremes that have arisen, the interest in the occult and not too much in the mystical; but the activities in same are ever an interesting phase of the entity's search. For in those changes that have occurred, for the moment it is THIS line of thought, then for another series or period THIS line of endeavor or philosophy being presented by some group or individual, yet never quite satisfying the entity - as we shall find; because of self's application in some of its material sojourns in the earth.
25. From the activities in the earth the urge arises through what may be termed the material perception, or the emotional forces of the entity.
26. No one would accuse the entity of being overemotional; yet there is a great deal of sympathy, a great deal of sentiment existing in the entity as a combination of its mental and its emotional life. This has at times brought some confusion, as will be indicated; not only by the experiences the entity has had, and will have in the present sojourn, but by the activities in the former appearances through the earth.

27. As to the appearances, then:
28. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods of activity when there was the settling of the land - in the areas of the entity's present nativity, though the entity journeyed somewhat westward and southward from those activities.
29. Thus the entity knew much of the hardships of the frontiersmen, as they are often referred to; yet these to the entity were never as hardships - rather opportunities for expression, for manifestation.
30. Though there was not a superabundance in material things, there was ever sufficient for the needs of the period; because of the entity's trust in a divine intervention, as well as the divine supply.
31. Let NO thought ever divert thee from that as ye manifested there. Let not intellectual reasoning, as is sometimes called, dissuade thee from the trust in that birthright which is promised and given to each soul; that indeed thy body is the temple of the living God, and that there, in thy holy of holies, He will meet thee - and His promises do not fail.
32. Then clutter not thy temple with strange fires, nor with undue vows, nor with strange offerings; but let thy yeas be yea and thy nays be nay, IN the Lord!
33. In that experience, as may be intimated, the entity gained throughout. Though as a householder, a settler, there was the opportunity to bring encouraging words to those who lost hope, not only because of material destruction but failures and disappointments in individual activities.
34. The name then was Mary Hemphill. That was the maiden name; for the entity aided in that name as well as in its associations or companionships with its present companion, as Upshaw - Jonathan Upshaw.
35. Before that the entity was in the English land, during those periods of the first Crusade; when those things were being attempted in the lands that were to the entity holy, as well as to others, because of the sojourn there - and the attempts were to further those ideas and ideals in relationship to the various sects or groups there.
36. The entity was in the opposite sex, then, because of the desire for a manifested activity in those ways or means of expression; and became - through the joining with the Crusade activities - entangled with those of other lands, because of physical illnesses there.
37. Hence during that experience the entity became aware of the brotherly love that might be manifested even by one

considered as a religious enemy.
38. The entity gained a lesson from same. Though it may be said that the entity was overzealous during the early portion of its activity, it gained that lesson of brotherly love which aided the entity not only in the foreign land but in its own home land, in bringing a better understanding.
39. In the present, from the lesson gained in that sojourn, we find the ability to apply - not by might or power, but by "my word" - gentleness, kindness, longsuffering, patience, - those things called the fruit of the spirit, or having within them the spirit of the Creative Forces or Energies we call God - in such a manner as to bring into the hearts and experiences of others the knowledge of the ONENESS of souls' relationships to the Godhead.
40. The name then was Cushings.
41. Before that the entity was in the land of promise; being among those peoples who had accepted the teachings as to the manners in which there was the looking for a Messiah, a Prophet, which had been proclaimed of old.
42. The entity was among those of the household of faith in that direction; not only embracing the Jewish activities but the Essenes' interpretations of same.
43. Hence the entity was acquainted not only with those of the house of David through whom there came the forerunner, the prophet, but the Messiah, Jesus Himself.
44. Thus the entity was acquainted with many of those whose children were destroyed, though none of the entity's were offered, for in the experience the entity was never wed but led the life of the celibate.
45. And the entity counseled with the mothers of many of those who hoped for the selection of their offspring as the channel for that prophecy; also caring for many of those.
46. Hence the entity was among those of the period who are termed in the present as the holy women; counseling with the mothers and the young during that period.
47. The name then was Sofa. The entity gained, the entity lost; for with the activities which apparently allowed the edict of the king that brought destruction, was it not even the prophetess itself - THIS entity - who wrote that song of Rachel's weeping for her children?
48. In that the entity brought into the minds of many disturbing forces; not intentionally, not purposely, but because of overzealousness.
49. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods of turmoils and strifes.
50. There the entity was among those of the household of the Natives who rose in rebellion against the King because of

the banishment of the Priest.
51. ESPECIALLY was the entity active when the Atlanteans began to use the opportunity for the separating of the peoples or things, that were chosen by the leaders of the peoples of the Atlantean dynasty or group.
52. For then the entity raised its voice, with others, for the declaring that there be the return of the Priest; that there might be the unifying of the differences which had arisen.
53. Hence in the present we may find the entity with those abilities for UNIFYING little differences, little disturbances, by the gentleness of its manner and the way of speech, as well as by the thought and purpose going with same.
54. The name then was Har-Sha-Iel.
55. As to the abilities of the entity in the present:
56. Hold fast to that thou hast purposed in thy heart. Look ever, and oft, within for thy direction. Be satisfied with nothing less than knowing, as has been indicated, that He is mindful of thee. Then, speak as face to face. For the promise has been, and is, "I stand at the door and knock. If ye will open, I will enter, and I and the Father will abide with thee."
57. This applies to thee - not as a laudation over others, but humbleness of heart, humbleness in thy speech and thy conversation. And lo, He is with thee always, even unto the end of the earth!

59. (Q) What was the purpose of the entity's entrance? (A) TO MANIFEST THAT IT HAS GAINED!
