R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2175]; this we have had before, you see.

3. As we find, conditions are very good in the main.

4. There has been a general tendency, though, towards the lack of resistances being builded. The body started off well with the first suggestions for building up the body, and then allowed itself to become aggravated and fretted about some disturbances which arose outside; so that since then there have been activities only now and then toward correcting the condition indicated.

5. In the present, we find, there needs to be something of a routine established for itself; taking time for proper recreation as well as time for proper exercise outside of recreation, and a better or closer attention to the diets of the body.

6. With this done, and the keeping of the better mental attitude, we find that the body should be constantly on the improve.

7. This we would give as an outline:

8. There should be at least two hours a day when exercise and recreation are the order; that is, some specific exercise for the body forces - or physical body, whether as a game or in the regular routine. Include the children with it, and it will be better for self as well as for them.

9. After such exercise and recreation, have a hot shower or bath, and then quite a cold one; with a thorough rubdown afterwards along the spine with an equal combination of Peanut Oil and Cocoa Butter.

10. This will tend to make for QUICK recuperative forces and better resistances.

11. Then in the diet keep close to more of a vegetable diet, with just sufficient sea food, wild game or fowl to make a

good, balanced diet. Keep away from pork or beef to any great extent. Very seldom take either of these.

12. The vegetables should include all that are of the yellow nature or variety; such as carrots (prepared in any manner or form, but used in some manner almost each day). These may be juiced at times, grated, sliced, or cooked, or in their various ways or combinations. Also beets, and especially beet topes, turnips and turnip tops - these all should be parts of the diet, especially.

13. And then occasionally supplement the diet with vitamins. This business of adding so much supplementary vitamins of certain combinations, as some recommend, is very well; but for this body we would take the Purity Cross vitamin combination, and only twice each week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - when ready to retire.

14. And we should build up to a good resistance in this body.

16. (Q) Would it be advisable to have a metabolism test? (A) If desired, yes - but what for?

17. (Q) What causes the tired feeling I have upon waking in the morning? (A) The lack of proper resistance. Thus, as indicated, have the daily exercise followed with the hot and cold showers, then the rubdown with the oils along the centers or ganglia of the spine. These will make for much improvement.

18. (Q) Please give exercises that would be helpful. (A) As indicated, this may be made into a game - or may be taken as a regular exercise. If used as a game - such as badminton, or table tennis, but out of doors - or tennis, croquet or the like. Any of these, so that it is exercise in the open as much as possible; using both the arms and the lower limbs. If merely as an exercise, take early of morning two or three minutes of regular setting-up exercise; such as: Standing erect, raise the hands above the head, stooping, rising, stretching arms, swirling the body from the waist up. But in the game you may help yourself and others too! And keep the correct mental attitude. Not only be good; be good for something, and set it as a definite something to be done - that each day there will be that which contributes to the better thinking, better welfare, better being of someone else. For as ye give, ye receive.
