Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., New York.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2182].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better normal physical reactions.
4. These arise from toxic conditions which have long existed, and the disturbance this has produced in the acting of the organs through the body - and the pressure from same upon the general nervous system.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2182].
6. In the blood supply we find those indications of the toxic influence which has dominated the activity of the system; thus causing some disturbance in the heart's activity, owing to the quite variation which has existed at times in the circulation.
7. Hence periods have occurred when there has been produced a shortness of breath; when weaknesses arise; and when disturbance of a nervous nature arise, from any character of excitement - whether it be of a physical or of a mental nature through the system.
8. These tend to make for a clogging through the system, then, by this very disturbance and by the poor eliminations at times.
9. Thus a reaction has been caused in the liver and the spleen and pancreas, so that across the diaphragm area of the body at times we have pressures, a feeling of heaviness; and at other periods the area across and just above the kidneys becomes affected, from an involvement of a nature that the lower hepatic circulation is disturbed; causing irregularity of the eliminations as related to the kidneys, and the conditions through the bladder at times, with the burning sensation at the time of urination, and those

activities arising generally from same.
10. These, as we find, are the sources or the causes of the disturbances in this body, [2182], at the present time.
11. In the nerve system we find rather a reflex of the conditions, rather than the cause; though there is a great deal of distress here at times.
12. In making applications for a helpful influence, first we would begin with those properties as would stir the activity of the liver; this being merely the beginning of a course for the helpful forces for the body:
13. About thirty minutes after each meal we would take a quarter to half a teaspoonful (not more than this) of ALCAROID. First dissolve this in a small quantity of water, then fill the glass and drink; then drink another glass full of water afterward. Be sure to take this at least three times each day, or each time that the body takes food. Continue this for two or three weeks, and even then occasionally.
14. After the Alcaroid has been taken for a whole day, begin also with taking the CAROID and BILE SALTS Tablets; one tablet soon after the morning meal, and two tablets when ready to retire of evening. Continue these for at least three or four days.
15. Then, have a high enema; this to be scientifically given, so that we may cleanse the colon thoroughly. This should be given slowly and gently, evacuating the whole colon area by the use of same.
16. Rest then for three or four days.
17. And THEN begin with the general hydrotherapy treatments, with a full massage afterwards. These would include the gentle Sweats, not so that we raise the temperature of the body too high, but sufficient to make the perspiration. Then the Sitz Baths, the Hot and Cold Bath and Rub, and a gentle and THOROUGH massage; with corrections especially in the areas of the 9th dorsal to the lower lumbars.
18. We would take these once or twice a week for at least four or five weeks.
19. When there are the pains (should these occur) across the small of the back, then massage into the area an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Camphor and Spirits of Turpentine; that is, using about a tablespoonful of each. Massage all that the body will absorb, then apply a flannel that has been soaked in the same mixture, and then an electric pad. This will tend to relieve and to correct the general conditions and disturbance in the liver and the areas of the lower hepatic circulation.

20. In the matter of the diet - keep away from heavy foods; that is, such as red meats or the like. Use more a diet of vegetables, fruits and the like; though fish, fowl or lamb may be taken of so desired. No fried foods.
21. Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body, [2182].
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) What causes the unpleasant knee, and what should be done for it? (A) Toxic forces in the system! The eliminations set up as indicated will relieve these pressure upon the nervous system which disturb the locomotion, especially in knee and through the hips and small of the back.
24. (Q) Any other advice? (A) These things we would do in the present, and as we find we will bring bettered conditions. FIRST there would be the cleansing of the system with those properties indicated, before beginning the general hydrotherapy. Of course, the colonic may be taken as a part of the hydrotherapy - but it should be given following the taking of the medicinal properties, and then rest a few days before beginning the other hydrotherapy applications. These are to cleanse the whole system, so that the rest of the applications would bring cleansing and an adjustment in all of the eliminations and assimilations of the body. Then, watch the diet.
25. We are through for the present. Copy to Mrs. [1602] " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Hydrotherapist, when you are ready for these treatments. We would refer you to: The Reilly Service, Atten. H. J. Reilly, R.C.A. Bldg., New York City.) .)
