1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [2189], present in this room, and his business associations and relations. You will answer the questions which he will ask you regarding the store and real estate holdings at Enfield, N.C. You will give this body any advice that will help him in all phases of his business.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [2189] - also those associations and business relations.
3. In the physical body we find the conditions are gradually on the improve. There needs be that the body be mindful as respecting overtaxing self PHYSICALLY, until there is at least sufficient stability within the vital resistive forces of the body, and that the body through the digestive system keep an alkalin system, with sufficient of the stimuli to the various nerve centers and plexus along the cerebrospinal system as to keep a normal reaction through incentives from the various nerve plexus. This we would do, else there must come a reaction that would be of a DETRIMENTAL nature, especially as to eliminations coming in such forms as of a neurotic, or neuritis, and of rheumatic reactions in limbs, knees, feet, ankles, through pelvis, and a pressure in the gastric regions as of regurgitation. Keeping these, then, for the time, we will find the body more physically fit to meet the needs of the day, to be able to counteract in reactions as may come for the physical and mental body, meeting the vicissitudes of life in EVERY respect.
4. As respecting the conditions in Enfield and about same - this, as we find, is in that portion of the district in the South as has been given would be able, and would weather CONDITIONS financial, or in general depression, BETTER than in MOST districts. This is an improper time to dispose of real estate, unless through forced issues - but through the application of self and associates in the BUSINESS, these - while not up to the par, or what may be, or may have been expected, will prove to be SATISFACTORY when all CONDITIONS

and SURROUNDINGS are considered. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) Has business been the cause of the body's ailments? (A) They have been a contributory measure, but not wholly so; for, as has been given, when there are those conditions in the mental as to cause an accumulation in the system of poisons, these are hard to be dealt with as respecting assimilations - for depressions, anger, wrath, sorrow, and such, make for poisons in the DIGESTIVE system, causing an activity of an unnatural or abnormal manner through same. Through such periods one should beware of eating very much, and especially of any conditions as make for ACIDITY, for already there is an EXCESS in a system when such conditions mentally surround a body.
6. (Q) Will the sale that is starting in body's store be successful? (A) Should be. This, however, to be sure, is dependent upon the manner in which same is conducted. There is naturally a deficiency in every field of real finance, real cash, yet these - handled in a proper manner - will enable the body and associates to meet many of the obligations and to make for a betterment, and stability, and stabilizing effect throughout the whole situation.
7. (Q) What will be most beneficial, remaining in same business, or a decided change? (A) For the present, and for at least the next fourteen months, we WOULD not give a change, for the surroundings are such that these may be made the most successful at and under the present conditions and surroundings.
8. (Q) Are employees properly taking care of income and expenses, and should they be kept in employ? (A) These have been, in most instances, most satisfactory. This, again, depends a great deal upon the attitude of employer to employee, for where much is required, where confidence is placed, where the activities physically and mentally are in and of a cooperative nature, there is seen that, that as is GIVEN that is received. In the same attitude, then, as the employer holds to the employee, and the employee holds to the employer, we find that reaction as is in keeping with the attitude, active and passive, as respecting each; for when one becomes superstitious of, or fearful of the actions of such an employee, that the actions become in a manner as expressive of an attitude, then dilatory action, the inabilities become manifested, and the weaknesses become accentuated. When there is the wholehearted, not as of working for - but working with, or toward a common end for all - not necessary, under such, that the social environs be made equal, no - but that the one purpose as may be held, for an individual knowing that

in the success, in the correct attitude, in the holding of an ideal - as business, as social, as religious, as the principles of life - as ONE - these may be made so cooperative that the success is assured. These may, in such a way be worked out - and ones acting in such a manner as to become unsatisfactory, then reason with such an one. Then, not heeding to same, change.
9. (Q) Advise what should be done with the real estate possessions. Should body retain them or sell them? (A) As has been given, this is a poor time for sale of real estate - for it is at the lowest, though - should this become NECESSARY, to insure the safety OF other conditions as arise at times, then do so - but being in a district, among a people, in a manner and way in which these may be made - in the times to come - most helpful in an advance, then WHY - unless it becomes necessary through such issues - DISPOSE of same at a sacrifice, or even at a SMALL profit?
10. (Q) What should be done in regards to debts owed body? (A) In an attitude of that wholehearted cooperation that the body would have towards those the body owed under same circumstances and conditions. Then, in THAT manner act towards those due the body moneys at this time. In not a conciliatory manner; not in a forced issue manner, but rather in a manner of assisting and aiding an individual owing same so approached for collection; for as the periods of depression are of a hardship to all, forcing issues too STRONGLY will only make for greater hardships, not only for those that are not ABLE to make full settlement or a very small portion, but in others also - and in a cooperative manner these may be made (the greater portion of them) as an asset that will be valuable, not only in the present and present conditions, but in the future periods.
11. (Q) Will location body is in at present be successful for body? If not, advise where would be the best location. (A) Should be very successful for the body, in the present. Keep the body-mind in an at-onement of the ideals the body prompted in self when there was the beginning of the operations in the present location; for while this considered as not wholly an ideal place, yet one that offered opportunities, not only in a financial but as a satisfactory way in OTHER respects. Keep self in that same frame of mind.
