Tidewater Time of Reading Memorial Hospital, 3:15 to 3:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Lynnhaven, Virginia.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2303].

3. Now as we find, while the conditions and the disturbances have reached rather serious proportions, if there will be the care and the proper attention - consistently, persistently - there STILL may be hope for recuperative forces to effect the staying of the disturbances which cause the physical distress.

4. To be sure, from the lack of purifying of the blood through the lungs, because of the lack of the ability of oxidization, or for sufficient oxygen, the disturbance has already progressed to such an extent that the liver, stomach and kidneys are involved, in their attempt to eliminate the dross or poisons that become natural accumulations.

5. While the tubercle through the lungs is causing great open spaces, there are still those portions that may be aided.

6. There is the lack of the acids that aid in the assimilation of the food values given. These must all be taken into consideration in administering ANY helpful relief.

7. The necessity in the present of administering sedatives for the relief of pain ONLY adds to the necessity for eliminations, which are being greatly - though gradually - diminished in their abilities to to function.

8. WE would give these:

9. First, we would prepare a Keg of Apple Brandy so that the fumes may be inhaled from same; NOT the brandy itself taken

internally, but only the fumes inhaled. Prepare preferably in a charred oak keg, so that the fumes which arise from the natural evaporation by being kept above normal temperature may be inhaled.

10. To be sure, the inhaling will necessarily be very slight at first, but one or two inhalings and then rest for two to three hours; then inhale again, or three times during twenty-four hours, gradually increasing the amount of the attempts to inhale.

11. Also we would take ACIGEST. In this body it will require that only small amounts be taken in the beginning; but this will relieve these pains through the intestinal tract, through the stomach, the nausea, and allow for some assimilation. ACIGEST is the best manner, as we find, to administer the acids needed in the system, and especially for the digestive system. Take half a teaspoonsful to a glass of raw sweet milk, stirred thoroughly; this amount to be taken during a period of six to eight hours, for only a small quantity may be taken at the time, under the present conditions.

12. In the diet - give only the liquids; egg with spiritus frumenti, this well beaten together as a nog, with a little milk. Also take beef juice, which should be given in small sips every fifteen to twenty minutes. No fat in same, and sip just a bit at the time. Taken only a few drops at the time will be preferable to a spoonful taken at once. This is for the strength and vitality, which IS weak.

13. Do these; though it may be necessary to remove the body from the present environs to administer these. If there is the strength and vitality to move the body - these will aid, and may give an opportunity for further recuperative measures.

14. Do that, for the present.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) How should we go about to remove him from the hospital? (A) It may only be done through the family, or those who have the charge of the body.

17. (Q) Will he have to be moved in an ambulance? (A) Necessary; there isn't enough strength to be moved otherwise. Do these things, as we find, if we would offer the opportunity for ever having recuperative forces administered.

18. We are through for the present. Two copies to Miss [...] Copy to Ass'n file
