1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2395].
3. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning. In the main, these have been of long standing. Consequently, much that may appear complicated becomes a part of the general conditions. For, so many VARIED manners present themselves as part of the disturbances, that these appear as complications.
4. These, though, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2395] we are speaking of, in the present:
5. First, in the blood supply - we find this deficient in quantity and in quality. This of itself causes a great deal of impoverishment to activity of organs, as well as being contributory to may disturbances that arise at various times throughout the system.
6. To be sure, this condition in the blood supply is a result - yet the cause of some of the reactions that exist.
7. In the nervous system - here we find causes of the sources from which many of the effects or disturbing forces arise in the present.
8. For, there has long existed some impingements from lack of the proper coordination of impulses between cerebrospinal and sympathetic nerve systems; thus allowing and causing deficiencies in the stimulated activity for proper functioning through portions of the body. For instances, those which have existed for some time back in the areas of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and even to the 6th dorsal, - these have been areas from which there has been a lack of nerve energy and impulse, because of the forms of lesions in the area as to cause an impoverishment of the circulation to throat, nasal passages. Thus we find this has been a source for the causes of the body being allergic to certain of
2395-1 Page 2
various forms of conditions that affect the mucous membranes of nasal passages, throat, bronchi and larynx.
9. This continued suppression of activity causes a form of congestion, that may be called catarrhal in its nature, to the stomach itself; and thus those conditions existing in the present through the POSITION of the stomach. The inability of proper assimilation at times may arise, or may be said to arise, as a result of those general conditions existing in the body.
10. This has tended to make those tendencies, for some time, for the super or superlative acidity in the system. This caused those reactions through the assimilating system, and the excretory functionings of the hepatic circulation to slow up activities through the liver and kidneys in their activity.
11. And at times a heaviness across the small of the back, a fullness at times, or at other times in the abdominal area, with formations of gas, have hindered the body - and thus gradually, through those stresses, brought this impoverishment to the blood supply of the body.
12. In the functioning of the organs themselves - these in the greater part, as indicated, have become involved from disturbances in the nerve system, and from those depressions produced in the blood supply.
13. Thus we do not find that the organs may be said to be other than deficient in their activity, yet these are gradually becoming more involved - and will, without there being those influences to create a better normal balance, - so that there would be constitutional organic disturbances.
14. These we find indicated through the activity of the lungs themselves (though this is sympathetic), the natural disturbances with the heart's activity (though this in itself is not organic), and in the liver and kidneys also - though sympathetic in nature.
15. Hence as we find, we may bring a great deal of physical and mental aid to this body, and thus add to the usefulness of the body mentally and spiritually through this experience, if there will be the applications just as we will indicate them. However, it will require that there be the consistent and persistent application of those things suggested here, and these varied at times to meet the developments that will arise with the use of that suggested.
16. First, then, we would give that there be prepared a keg for inhaling the fumes from Apple Brandy. In a gallon or gallon and a half oak keg, charred inside, put half a gallon to a gallon of Pure Apple Brandy (the quantity depending on the size keg, you see). Cork the bung tightly, of course.
2395-1 Page 3
Then put two holes in one end, both of which should be kept tightly closed except when the inhaling is done. In one hole prepare a tube so that there may be easily inhaled the fumes that arise from evaporation, into the mouth - or through the mouth into the throat and lungs. Remove both stoppers, of course, when ready to inhale. Do not drink the Brandy, you see; merely inhale the fumes. In the beginning do not attempt to inhale too often, or too much at a time; but two or three good inhalations a day, as one would inhale smoke from a cigarette, but draw into the lung, as well as, for this body, swallowing a little of the fumes or gas at times also. Do this only about twice to three times each day at first. Keep the keg close to some heat, that the evaporation will be sufficient to supply the gas and fumes by such evaporation.
17. Also three times each week we would take CALCIOS, which is calcium in the form easily assimilated by the system, - about the quantity that would be taken on the point of a case knife and spread upon a whole wheat wafer or cracker, to be eaten as you would a buttered cracker.
18. With the evening meal, or at the evening meal, we would use ACIGEST; half a teaspoonful stirred in a glass of RAW milk - not prepared otherwise, but that taken directly from the cow, you see - it is well even that the milk still be warm from the body heat of the cow. However, it may be cooled after the ACIGEST is stirred into same; but let it be taken soon after the Acigest is added. Take it in this manner every evening at the meal for five days; then leave off three days, then take five days again, and so on, continuing in this manner.
19. Have osteopathic adjustments, especially through the area indicated; though coordinating, to be sure, the cervical areas with the lower dorsal, the lumbar AND the sacral.
20. Take these adjustments for at least a month, then rest from them for two weeks. Then take them for another month; and at the end of the second month of the treatments or adjustments, we would give further instructions.
21. Throughout the period, keep the eliminations well by the diet. This as we find would be an outline for the diet:
22. Mornings - plenty of whole wheat or cracked wheat taken as a cereal, at least three to four times each week; or this may be altered at times to a combination of rye and oats; preferably the steel cut oats rather than rolled oats. Cook these a long time, at least two and a half to three hours, in a double boiler with a cover on it except when
2395-1 Page 4
stirring - in order to preserve all the juices.
23. Then on the days when the cereal is not taken, have a glass of orange juice with the juice of half a lemon stirred in same; but DO NOT take this at the meal WHEN the cereal is taken - but on opposite days!
24. Either of these may be followed, if desired, with buckwheat cakes, or whole wheat toast, or a little bacon VERY crisp - no fat or grease in same, you see.
25. Noons - preferably at times ONLY fruits; as prunes, prune whip, with plenty of milk or cream; figs, stewed or canned - though not preserved, but canned; raisins at times. All of these should be taken two to three times each week.
26. At other times there may be taken soups, especially with lots of vegetables and their juices in same - combining those vegetables that grow both above and below the ground.
27. If so desired, there may be occasionally taken fish, fowl or lamb at this meal - but never fried.
28. Drink after the meal, here, about an ounce of orange juice.
29. Evenings - preferably all characters of leafy vegetables that agree with the body. Of course, use fish, fowl or lamb at this meal when desired, but no fried foods ever.
30. No white bread ever. Even make the biscuits with whole wheat, or the like.
31. Of course, these are not all the foods that are to be taken, but merely an outline of the foods that SHOULD be included.
32. Do these. Be persistent, be consistent; and at the end of the period indicated, we would give further instructions.
33. Ready for questions.
34. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for osteopath. We would refer you to Dr. Martha Beard, Hopkinsville. CALCIOS is manufactured by the Colloidal Health Products Corp., Atten. A. A. Nickhoson, Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y. It sells for $2.50 a jar, and according to the Readings is the best way of assimilating free calcium. ACIGEST is made by the same people, and sells for $1.50 a bottle. See drawing [which was enclosed] to illustrate the keg for
