Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Conn.

1. HLC: You will go over this body physically and mentally, completely; tell us of all conditions you find and if any abnormal ones give the history, the treatment and relief for them; advise the body how to get the best results daily, mentally and physically, from the information, and answer the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2407], present in this room.

3. As we find, there are conditions that prevent the best normal physical functioning; and we may indicate rather the warnings in a general manner that there may be in the present the relief of the disturbing factors, so as to prevent greater distresses arising and conditions coming about that would be harder to deal with.

4. These as we find, then, in the present, are rather the tendencies or inclinations, but they are gradually effecting stresses upon the nervous system that are hindering the better physical activities.

5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2407] we are speaking of, present in this room:

6. First, in the blood supply of the body - here we find there are the tendencies toward an impoverishment of the superficial circulation. This causes two distinct disturbances to the body, produced by two distinct orders of condition - one the high nervous tension under which the body labors at times, the other a subluxation existing in the sacral-ileac plexus.

7. These each have their direct and indirect activity upon the manner of assimilation of the foods. Hence there are those tendencies towards an unbalanced condition between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal nervous system; as well as producing a lack of elements as create greater red blood supply.

8. Thus we find a deficiency of elements in the hemoglobin

2407-1 Page 2

of the blood, though the metabolism of the system - as yet - is not materially disturbed.

9. In the nervous system - here, as indicated, we see the greater effects of these disturbances, owing to the nervous indigestion which often occurs; producing through the system at the time more of an uneasiness than of any direct or acute pain; though at times it becomes very aggravating to the system.

10. For, through the nerve flexes as from the subluxation, combined with the nervous tension which is produced in the lower end of the duodenum, there is the inclination for the swelling and the lack of the ability of the foods to digest properly and for their elimination into the assimilating channel of the jejunum.

11. This at times causes a fullness in the cardiac portion of the stomach, and at times even some inconvenience - as of a burning in the pit of the stomach, and towards the throat and the activities there are actions as indicated of a nervous digestion, rather than the gastric flows being unbalanced. However, the inclinations - to be sure - are to produce some acidity in the system, owing to these reactions.

12. As to the activities of the organs themselves - these are rather reflexes, and not organic disturbances; though, from the stresses produced in the body at times, we find the effects to the lower limbs and the feet - the easily tiring, and the giving of disturbances to the feet and the lower limbs, as of heavy, aching, or the general tiredness.

13. Through the lower portion of the abdomen at times this heaviness also occurs. This is a direct reflex from the pressures as indicated in the ileac plexus, or in the 4th lumbar, extending to the coccyx area.

14. Again we have those reflexes from this, as well as combined with the upper portion, or this tendency for the disturbance to the superficial circulation and to the general nervous system, causing the organs of the sensory system to become involved.

15. Hence at times the eyes, as well as other parts of the sensory system are affected; that is, things do not taste just right; and there is at times the feeling of a numbness in portions of the body, extending even at times to the brachial center, producing across the shoulder blade and even to the muscular forces of the arms this feeling of the need to increase circulation.

16. Hence the disturbances here, as indicated, are rather as warnings. For, with the application of these things as we will suggest here, we find that the body will be rid of

2407-1 Page 3

these tendencies.

17. First we would give, then, that there be begun those applications to remove the pressures existent in the ileac area; coordinating this with those tendencies for tautness in the 9th dorsal, from which the jejunum as well as the activity of the pylorus and duodenum receive their nerve impulse. This should be a relaxing treatment for the body, now, from the lumbar to the 9th dorsal; then a STIMULATING treatment for the activity from the 6th and 7th dorsal to the 1st cervical. These treatments we would have through mechanical means, osteopathically, you see; and we would adjust the conditions in the sacral so that there will not be an unbalancing in the pelvic bone - which exists in the present. For, it will be found that there is a slight variation as to the length of the limbs, when standing erect. Also coordinate through such those conditions in the centers from which impulses are received along the cerebrospinal system for coordinated activity through the organs of the body.

18. Take these treatments twice each week for the first series of at least three to four weeks.

19. We would have these made preferably by Dobbins. After the first series, they may be made farther apart - and gradually left off as the condition is adjusted.

20. After the beginning of the first treatment, begin also to take internally the CALCIOS about twice each week to aid in the better circulation; about the quantity as would be used to cover a whole wheat cracker - spreading it on as butter; not too much, but the body will assimilate this properly.

21. Also take once each day the ADIRON; one pellet at the evening meal, and take this periodically throughout the winter months - that is, take it five weeks, leave off two weeks, then take five weeks again, and so on - just one pellet each day. The iron in this is not of the nature that it causes an upsetting of the system, as some forms of iron. For, this is muriated iron, in combination with cod liver oil and the vitamins B-1, G and A.

22. With the taking of these vitamins and compounds in this manner, and the correcting of those spinal subluxations indicted, the body will be able to so attune or adjust itself as to be rid of these disturbing tendencies.

23. In the diet - drink orange juice the more often. Squeeze a little lemon in each glass of orange juice taken; and if there is taken two or three glasses each day it will not be too much for the body.

24. AFTER there has been the correction of the causes,

2407-1 Page 4

through the manner of treatment here outlined, we would then change or alter the aid to the vision, but not before these corrections are made.

25. Doing these, we will find we will bring near to normal forces for this body, [2407]; relieving much of the tensions and preventing disturbing conditions of a more serious nature to the functional and organic system.

26. Ready for questions.

27. (Q) Will the treatments outlined relieve the tendency for taking cold? (A) It has just been indicated. Cold arises the more often in acidity, you see; and the relieving of these tendencies in the body will prevent the cold, and also the trouble that at times occurs in the soft tissue of throat and face.

28. (Q) Would you suggest any particular type of exercise for the body? (A) Walking in the open when practical and possible.

29. (Q) Are there any other specific suggestions for diet? (A) The body is one very well equipped for suggestion diet. We only suggest the addition of more orange juice.

30. (Q) How can the mental development aid the better physical conditions? (A) By using and doing the things suggested! It isn't so much what one knows that counts, but what one does ABOUT that known!

31. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for osteopath: Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Ave., New York City.
