This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of December, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [2420], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. Hereward Carrington.

Born August 31, 1898, in New York City. Time of Reading 10:30 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., New York.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane; giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2420].

4. In giving the interpretations of the records of this entity, as we find written upon time and space, know that it is in patience, in perseverance, that the entity may become aware of their influence.

5. These interpretations, then, are chosen with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling it to better understand the faults, the failures, as well as the virtues; and thus in this experience of opportunity manifest in such a manner that the faults may be minimized and the virtues magnified.

6. At once one may ask, who is to choose or to say what has been a fault and what a virtue?

7. In the life there are those experiences magnified and manifested in which there are diversions from or attunements to the universal, cosmic or divine law. Those in which there is a faltering in keeping the law become manifested in the individual as faults; and those in which there is the expression in keeping with the divine law as virtues.

8. For, remember - the good lives on; and it is up to the individual to so correct, so manifest the experience that it

may be of a creative, purposeful nature.

9. In interpreting the records as we find them here of this entity, there are influences arising from the sojourns of the entity in the material planes, as well as from the sojourns of the consciousness during the interims between the earthly experiences.

10. Not all of these may be indicated in this one experience of interpreting the records, but these are chosen as those that indicate that needed in the present, or that as may be applied in the present consciousness of the entity as to indicate growth towards the filling of that purpose for which the entity entered this present experience.

11. What then, ye may ask, ARE the purposes for a soul manifesting in flesh in ANY individual entity?

12. In the beginning, all souls that were as portions of the thought of God were given the opportunity for expression, as to be companions for that Creative Force - or God.

13. Hence - as the application of self in relationship to the individual abilities has brought them as individuals into the various relations and into spheres of activity, in some there have been growths and in some there have been retardments.

14. But He, the Father, has not willed that any soul should perish, but has with each fault, each failure, prepared a way of escape; and that knowledge, that way, lies within the consciousness of each.

15. For, as the entity finds in its own analysis of self, there is body with its attributes, its weaknesses, its strength, its inclinations, its tendencies. From whence arise these tendencies? They arise from both the mental and spiritual manifestation in a causation world.

16. Then there is a mind, that is a body-mind; both spiritual AND material. From whence arise the emotions, the attributes, the activity of such? From its environ to the influences from the physical in all of its consciousnesses, as well as the spiritual - the First Cause.

17. Also we find the body-spiritual.

18. They are one; as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one. God as the Father, Creator, Maker; the Son as the Way, the Mind, the Activity, the Preserver; the Holy Spirit as the motivative force - or as the destroyer or the maker alive, dependent upon the manners in which these influences are used by the individual entity, or whether there are or have been retardments or advancements towards - what? That we may be one with Him, know ourselves to BE ourselves, yet one in creative purpose and in activity in this material plane.

19. Urges arising from the astrological aspects would mean little for this entity here. These are indicated that there may be an understanding by the entity of the latent abilities, latent faculties as are manifested in the abilities of the entity to meditate, to turn within. Know that these are not merely form, but are the attuning of the spiritual - which should direct the mental, that the mental may build a sound body in purpose, in the physical activities, as well as in its hopes, its love, its life, its truth.

20. In Mercury, then, we find the high mental ability; not that the position of the planet at birth indicates certain faculties or abilities towards wisdom, but rather that the entity's sojourn there - in that consciousness - indicates the manner in which the entity may think.

21. We find in Jupiter the same type of influence as in its dealings or relationships to masses; as Jupiter represents that consciousness or activity of a universality of strength, of might, of power.

22. In Saturn we find the changes, the weaknesses as indicated in both the mental forces and the application at times. For, with its powerful, magnetic personality, the weakness of the entity is to forget that it isn't personality that is spiritual but the individuality - that is the personality of God, or the Son in activity.

23. These influences, then, as well as the sojourns in the earth, are chosen to be indicated in order to give the influences to be met; not merely that they are as karmic influences to be met whether or no. For, know - as manifested by Him - these are the law: If ye would be forgiven, then forgive; if ye would be loved, then love - not as a possessive thing, not as an ownership, but as He, the example, the Son, has shown - in that He thought it not robbery to make Himself equal with God, yet lived in the manner in which there was even the forgiveness to them who despitefully used Him for fear of jealousy, hate, avarice, malice, and without the thought, the care of WHY such arose in their experience!

24. As to the appearances, then; these we find as having the greater bearing upon the experience in the present:

25. Before this the entity was in the Scottish land, when the relationships between the Irish and the Scottish lands were ones of turmoil, ones in which the secular influence were dominated by the manners in which the various groups were active.

26. Hence back and forth in those lands did the entity make manifest; and then came to that new land with those groups

who sought to find and to give expression in a land of freedom.

27. Hence in this experience the entity has found there is the desire to break away from orthodox views, or things pertaining merely to ideas that are man-made. For, in God, in the Son, in the Holy Spirit, there is NO creed; for creeds are only man-made. And remember that creeds are like those things that are done as in rote. However, to some rote becomes necessary, and there are the tendencies for the entity in its experiences to become subject to rote; yet these are the very things against which ye are warring. These find expression in personality, but in INDIVIDUALITY you may give the expression of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, WITHOUT the destruction of the personality.

28. In the present, as through that experience, there is the ability for the entity to become a leader among men; though not that of personal magnetism (though this may be expressed) but through so living, so being that which - through HIM working IN thee - may draw all men unto thee!

29. There were those activities in the land to which the entity came of establishing schools and educational factors that were of a practical nature, rather than of book "larning" as might have been termed then.

30. The entity was in the name Sidney McDodgman. In the experience the entity lost, the entity gained; and from same arises the abilities in leadership, the ability to see the sides of questions in which there may be the humor and the wit stressed rather than the sordidness of regulation.

31. Before that the entity was in the Roman land, during those periods when there were greater expressions in other lands.

32. The entity naturally (because of its former sojourn) was drawn to the Holy Land, and on beyond to India - as known in the present. Thus though the entity began as one in authority, it became as a wanderer through the experience - under the influence of the teachings of those in the land; not wholly conforming to the tenets of that teacher whom the associates followed and taught concerning, but in the attempt to apply such under different environments there came disturbance; at times peace, at others hardships, at others indecisions.

33. Let not that activity which was a part of the experience through that sojourn, as Margo, bring into the present experience those indecisions of that sojourn.

34. Before that the entity was in the Indian land, during those periods when there were the activities of the sacred individuals who became as manifested activities in the land;

through the teachings as well as activities that were and still are a part of many of the peoples of that land.

35. The entity was a follower and a student of the great leader in that experience - in the name Narjada. In the experience the entity gained, the entity lost. The entity gained in the desire to study, to know. The entity lost in the application of same then for personal gains, personal gratification of the great personality of the entity though those experiences.

36. Before that the entity was in the Gobi land, in the City of Gold - that may one day be discovered.

37. The entity was one of those who represented the Goddess of the Sun in that period of activity; acting in the capacity of one who made overtures for the activities to bring about relationships of the various natures for the maintaining of better living conditions in the Indo-China land as well as the Manchurian land.

38. Hence those activities through that experience bring to the entity dreams of empires (of a mental, not a material nature). These are well, if they are led by that ideal for maintaining the relationships between God and man, or by the tenets of same that are PRACTICAL in the experiences of those who seek to know same.

39. For, as in that experience, if the abilities are used for bringing the divine manifestations into materiality to the detriment of others rather than to the benefit, or for bringing divine manifestation into materiality FOR the benefit of an INDIVIDUAL, then it becomes sin.

40. For, though all that was, all that is, was created by Him, He subjected Himself to the MATERIAL law; that YE - yea, ALL - might find the way!

41. The name then was Prince (or Abba) Debarik.

42. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were the activities which brought about the entrance of Arart into the land.

43. For the entity then - seeing, experiencing within the inner self the needs for a revival of purposes - rebelled against the Native King who later made peace with the Priest and Arart who came in from the Aryan or the Carpathian or Persian land.

44. The entity was upset mentally and materially by those changes wrought. Later, with the experiences of the Rebellions, and the incoming of the Atlanteans, the entity became rather as one that might be relied upon for the Law of One; which - as interpreted and made into an understandable form by those activities with the return of the Priest from banishment - brought comfort and aid to the

understanding of the entity - as Ben-Sada.

45. In the experience the entity lost, the entity gained.

46. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, - that to which it may attain, and how:

47. First - find thy ideal; spiritually, mentally, materially. Know WHO is the author of thy ideal, and its tenets. For, it must be universal in its nature; and in keeping with that as ye find in thy experience, in thy relationships to man and God today.

48. Then keep self in that attitude and activity - not as thou desirest others to give or to be, but that ye may in thyself so live, so set the example - by word as well as deed - that ye may persuade others to know Him - thy Ideal. Not as self, but making self of no estate that others may know the way.

49. As a teacher, as a lecturer, as a writer may such be accomplished.

50. Leave the personalities to others. Make thy individuality so bright in Him - who is the truth and the light - that ye may NEVER condemn thyself nor others, even as He.
