Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that may be asked.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2503].

3. As we find, in the present, there is rather the complication of disturbances; that affect the body in very definite but in different ways and manners.

4. We find that these are the effects of pressures upon various portions of the nervous system, from various causes, producing definite deflections in the activity of the organs.

5. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2503] we are speaking of:

6. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find abnormal, as related to its pressure and its circulation - arising from various causes - as will be indicated.

7. Also from the variation in the lymph, or the blood in the lymph circulation, there are those tendencies to produce swelling, or for lymph pockets to form; not only in the intestinal tract and abdominal areas but even through muscular forces and to those areas where the lymph and emunctory circulation comes closer to the surface.

8. IN THE NERVE FORCES OF THE BODY, there is the tendency for the accumulation of lymph, as indicated, or for fluids to form in pockets; though, as we find, there is not as yet such an accumulation for it to be called any kind of tumor or formation of such natures. Yet those inclinations are existent in those directions, because of the general disturbances as related to the glandular system.

9. Then, from these accumulations, there naturally is the effect in the nerve forces; through pains in the limbs, through the torso, and through various portions of the body - because of these very accumulations. At times there is nausea and some temperature; foods disagree with the body at

times. All of these become either acute or parts of the disturbance through the body.

10. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, the circulatory system, then, is affected organically; especially as related to the heart, the liver and the kidneys. These ALL become involved, and at times become contributory to or are a part of disturbances.

11. Rest, recreation, the sedative forces to allay, may at times assist portions of these to be thrown off; and at times the body feels better for a little while. Then, with any activity, there becomes the acute condition in one direction or another.

12. IN MAKING HELPFUL ADMINISTRATIONS:

13. THEN, most all of these disturbances must, or should, be taken into consideration; that there may be produced coordinant conditions through the functioning of the organs and their activity as related to the circulation, the accumulations and the eliminations.

14. First we would give that the body begin having twice each week a perfect relaxation, osteopathically administered. There should be first a thorough relaxing treatment, and the a stimulating to the emptying of the alimentary canal and for the activities of the kidneys. These would be the natures or characters of such treatments; first relaxation, then stimulation to the centers that produce drainages - or eliminations - from alimentary canal AND from kidneys and bladder. Take these twice each week for at least four or five weeks, then have a rest period from the treatments, and then begin again.

15. Begin also with taking two compounds, which would be prepared as here indicated. The first would be made in this manner:

16. To 1 ounce Elixir of Lactated Pepsin add 1/2 ounce Tincture of Valerian.

17. The dosage would be half a teaspoonful about every three hours apart.

18. The other compound would be prepared in this manner:

19. To 2 ounces of Distilled Water add 1 tablespoonful Strained Honey. Let this come to a boil. Then skim. Then to this, as the base or carrier, add - in the order named: Grain Alcohol................1/2 ounce, Essence of Wild Ginseng......1/2 ounce, Essence of Wild Ginger.......1/4 ounce, Tincture of Valerian...........5 minims. The dose of this would be half a teaspoonful twice each day,

of morning before any meal is taken, and of evening when ready to retire.

20. Unless eliminations are improved by the osteopathic adjustments made - have colonic irrigations to keep down the irregularity of pulsation and blood pressure - or its irregularity.

21. The frequency of such colonics should depend upon how well drainages are set up.

22. One of the compounds indicated is to act as a sedative, the other is to act upon the organs of the body in close relationship to the assimilations - and especially the activity of the lymph and emunctory forces through the system. Consequently, it will be necessary that the eliminations be kept.

23. Whether it is once in two weeks or once in ten days, or once in a week, it is well that the colonics be given sufficiently often to keep the alimentary canal clean - that is, so that there are not accumulations, see?

24. Now, as to the diets:

25. We would keep closer to liquids, fresh vegetables, vegetable juices, fruits and the like. These we would adhere to, unless they begin to cause gas. When this occurs, it will be a good indication that the alimentary canal needs to be cleansed.

26. Do these, and we will bring the bettered conditions for this body.

27. Ready for questions.

28. (Q) Who would you suggest to give the osteopathic treatments? (A) A good osteopath!

29. (Q) What was the beginning of the trouble, that caused these pressures? (A) Unbalance in the chemical forces of the body itself - and close to that of heart disturbance with dropsical effects, and the accumulations in the lymph through the alimentary canal - then extended even to the muscular forces of the body. For, the condition exists in ALL places where the lymph and emunctory circulation comes close to the surface - as in pockets, or a puffiness, you see.

30. (Q) Is there any organic trouble? (A) As we have indicated, it is as yet only the upsetting of the functionings; though it borders close onto ORGANS being unbalanced. Some would call it organic trouble. But if these administrations are adhered to, we will find the causes removed and much better reactions throughout the system. When the compounds have been used up, leave them off a week and then begin all over again. Have them re-made, see?

31. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (5/22/41 GD's note: See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Osteopath. We would refer you to Dr. M. L. Richardson, Bankers Trust Bldg., Norfolk, Va., who has had experience with following directions given in Readings - and remarkable results. See extra sheets [which were enclosed] with notations for preparing the compounds. Meredith's, 17th Street - either Bill Meredith or Mr. Ingram - will probably be able to fill these for you, as they have had experience with following such directions. However, this is only a suggestion. It is important that they be prepared EXACTLY as indicated.) d.)
