Time of Reading Apt. 6-D, 10:30 to 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, there is rather the combination of disturbances that hinder, or that prevent the better normal functioning. while these are of a complex nature, we find that in the main part they may be corrected by the activities as may be outlined.
4. Some portions are being disturbed that are not apparent, while others that appear disturbed are affected from the same cause.
5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2507] we are speaking of:
6. The blood supply indicates quite an unbalanced condition in the chemical forces of the body. These primarily arise from a complex condition in the glandular force as related to the kidneys and the liver; and these are the sources of most of the disturbances, as combined with the subluxations that hinder the correcting of the flow from the impulses of ganglia along the cerebrospinal system.
7. In the nerve forces of the body there are anxieties that, combined with the general conditions through the physical forces, tend to make a general nerve tension; insomnia at times, restlessness at times, and then acute pains - not only to the superficial circulation and to the locomotion of the body but to the organs themselves - in the assimilation as well as eliminations.
8. As to the functioning of the organs, or the organs themselves - we find that the main involvement is the hepatic circulation, though there are complexes through the blood supply and the nerve forces and the locomotion.
9. In the present we would begin first with the application of Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the abdominal area;

two to three thicknesses of flannel wrung out in warm Castor Oil, not hot. Apply directly to the skin, using over same oil cloth or oil sheeting or the like, to prevent soiling linens, and then an electric pad. Do this for an hour each day for three days.
10. Then, on the evening of the third day, or the next morning, take internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.
11. Leave these off five days, and then repeat the whole procedure.
12. Also each week, for the first five weeks, we would have twice or three a week the adjustments and hydrotherapy - or massage. This should include the hot and cold packs, as well as the adjustments; especially in the area of the lumbar and 9th dorsal, and coordinating the upper cervicals and upper dorsals with same.
13. Then, after a short rest period from these, we would again have them for three to four weeks.
14. These may be given by anyone that is in accord, and especially one who gives the hot and cold packs - Backman.
15. Be precautious as to the diet, keeping plenty of body-building and blood-purifying foods.
16. Prepare a tonic to be taken regularly, in this manner: To 1/2 gallon of Distilled Water, add - in the order named: Yellow Dock Root...................1 ounce, Toothache Bark...................1/2 ounce, Snake Root.......................1/2 ounce, Elder Flower.......................2 ounces. Reduce by simmering to 1 quart. Then add: Pure Grain Alcohol.................4 ounces, Tincture of Valerian.............1/2 ounce.
17. The dose would be a teaspoonful in the mornings before meals, and in the evenings before retiring. Take the whole quantity.
18. Continue the Packs and the adjustments for five to six weeks - then rest from them for five weeks, and then repeat.
19. In the diet, keep plenty of fruit and vegetable juices, raw as well as cooked.
20. Do these, and we will bring bettered conditions for this body.
21. Ready for questions.
22. We are through for the present.
