1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2516].
3. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent the better physical functioning. These produce rather a combination or complication of disturbances. Yet with the correcting of the one, other sources have prevented there becoming normalcy in the physical functioning.
4. These have to do with poisons in the system, and nerve pressures that are the result of these conditions.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2516] we are speaking of, present in this room:
6. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, there are indications of toxic disturbances, by a very disturbed blood condition. This is in the form of an anemia, producing some irregularity in the blood pressure. But from those congestions, combined with pressures existent in portions of the nerve centers or ganglia, these have NOT responded to the increasing of the circulation nor to the applications which ordinarily should have removed the effects.
7. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find here a source or a cause of the disturbances. Through the toxic forces, AND the subluxations, there are hindrances especially in the ileum and the locomotory centers, and in the heads of the sciatic nerves.
8. These produce pain by the attempted activity, or by the long remaining in one position. Each of these has a corresponding reaction in the center of the plexus in the sacral areas of the body.
9. We find that these arise from more than one source. As indicated, there has been a strain or wrench in the small of
2516-1 Page 2
the back; in the upper lumbar. Then with cold, or congestion, a lesion was formed; and the accumulations of the poisons from the conditions in the blood produced a static condition or reaction in the sympathetic AND a portion of the cerebrospinal nerve centers.
10. THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, these - as the liver and the kidneys - have NOT responded in the assisting in proper eliminations. Hence there are SOME accumulations of toxic forces in the form of uremic poison. This is from the unbalanced or cold circulation, or slowed circulation, between the upper and lower hepatics.
11. We find that these are the greater disturbances in this body at the present time.
12. IN MAKING FOR CORRECTIVE MEASURES, it will be necessary that there be a combination of applications. At first these will apparently irritate, but it will be necessary if there will be the eliminating of the disturbance.
13. We would begin first with an application of the Violet Ray (hand machine, bulb applicator) of an evening, when ready to retire - over the areas of the spine. Commence first at about the base of the brain - not a great deal over the upper portion of the body, but when reaching the area of the 9th dorsal, apply it on either side of the spine and across the sacral, for about a minute or minute and a half.
14. After the first application, it may be necessary through the evening to take a sedative. In that case, use either three tablets of Alka-Seltzer to a glass of water, or ten grains of Aspirin.
15. The next day, after the first application of the Violet Ray, have the corrections osteopathically administered; especially in the area from the 9th dorsal to the coccyx, with special reference to the lumbar axis AND the ileum plexus.
16. In the evening after such a treatment, then apply a saturated solution of Epsom Salts in Packs; using heavy Cannon towels, applied to the sacral and across the whole of the lumbar area; putting dry towels over same so as to retain the heat.
17. Then on the next evening use again the Violet Ray in the manner as indicated.
18. The NEXT day have another correction osteopathically. Then:
19. Take internally a combination of Syrup of Figs AND Fletcher's Castoria, in small or broken doses; half a teaspoonful every half hour, even if it requires more than nine hundred drops (or a small bottle of the Castoria).
2516-1 Page 3
Take until there is COMPLETE evacuation, with an activity of the liver and of the kidneys FROM the taking of these broken doses.
20. The next morning after these properties have reacted, take two heaping teaspoonsful of Sal Hepatica in a glass of water to flush the system.
21. Do not attempt to be too active during these two days, on the feet.
22. The next day after this, have another of the osteopathic adjustments; THIS time applying heat BEFORE the treatment. Have such adjustments made by such as Hudgins, see?
23. Do these, and be careful with the diet. Take only those foods that are easily assimilated; plenty of cereals and milk, fruit and vegetables rather than too much of meats; though beef juices, chicken broth and the like may be taken.
24. And we will find, doing these, we will be rid of these disturbances.
25. It will be necessary that other osteopathic adjustments be made, and the heat applied occasionally; but in the main we find that with the following of this first outline the body will be rid of these disturbances.
26. Ready for questions.
27. (Q) Should all other treatments be discontinued? (A) All other treatments should be discontinued, or rather held in abeyance; for these applications as we have indicated will relieve, remove causes, and make the system able to readjust itself.
28. (Q) I am due for a massage and an electrical cabinet bath tomorrow. Should I take it? (A) We find that such applications would be better for the body AFTER we have removed the cause, in the manner outlined. The conditions should have responded to the applications that have been made, except for the fact that those principles have not been added in the system sufficient to remove causes. We need deeper adjustments in the ileum plexus, rather than just the massage. We would take these AFTER the applications as we have indicated here, see?
29. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one marked copy for Dr. Frank Curtis Hudgins, Bankers Trust Bldg, Norfolk, Va.) Copy to Ass'n file (See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing the Epsom Salts Packs, also for making Pure Beef Juice. You can perhaps borrow a Violet Ray to use at home in the manner
