This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of June, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2520], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [2441].

P R E S E N T

R E A D I N G

Born December 20, 1902, Pittsburgh, Penna. Time of Reading 10:40 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Penna.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2520].

3. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them, many influences appear - not in a way as would be detrimental, but that seek for expression.

4. About the entity's whole experience there are cherubs, that are more in keeping with the thoughts - or that are an influence for good; rather than the heavier or higher forces, as considered by some. All are equal - with Him.

5. In choosing the interpretations of the records as we find them here, these are chosen with the desire and purpose that this be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to better and to further fulfillthe purposes for which it chose to enter this present sojourn.

6. There are urges that arise from the inspirational influences, as indicated. Also there are those arising from astrological sojourns, or aspects, as well as the emotional urges arising from material sojourns.

7. Know that there is no influence within self, however, or without self, that may surpass the human will; which may overcome, alter or change ANY of those urges that may arise in the experience.

8. The will is that birthright which makes each individual entity an INDIVIDUAL soul; thus with the ability to know

itself to BE itself, and yet separate from the influences about it.

9. But to attain to that oneness which is the ability of each soul, in its experiences in whatever sphere of activity it may attain, is the purpose of consciousness in any sphere or dimension.

10. Hence, the information given here is with the desire, the hope that it may assist the entity in being more aware of those purposes, those abilities, those shortcomings and those virtues.

11. For, as He gives - in grace and mercy magnify the virtues, minimize the faults. For, only good lives on. For it is the will of Him that giveth will to entities, to souls; that they may be companions with Him.

12. Astrologically we find latent urges, especially in the abilities from those influences that might be said to be the guardian forces about the entity - the imagination. And because of criticism the entity has submerged much that has been beautiful in the experience.

13. Awaken more to those abilities, those urges that arise. Depict them upon paper, that others - too - may experience them. For, these bring into the experience of all those influences upon which the beauties of eternity may grow - in and with the entity's influence.

14. For, the more graciousness ye express - the more tolerance, the more peace and harmony, either in thy mental or thy material self - the greater, the quicker, yea the more beautiful is the growth of peace in thy experience.

15. Do not be deterred because others smile knowingly. Find beauty in those influences. WRITE them as a part of thy material manifestation in this experience. Whether these are ever given to others, to thy knowledge, they WILL attain a great purpose in that thy guardian forces ALSO communicate in those realms that become creative in the minds and experiences of others.

16. We find the greater influences in Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Mars. To and through these there has been the greater expansion or expression.

17. Thus the desire for universality of understanding, and the greater mental abilities as indicated in the activities of the mental forces.

18. Wrath also at times is indicated, that does not always bring peace but in the entity usually "spurs them on" to greater activity.

19. See, know and be aware that thy activity is in accord with the ideal thou hast chosen, or may choose - whether in relationship to things, circumstances or individuals; or

even in the choice of those things thy hands find to do, or upon which thy mind dwells, or that thy conversation directs in those about thee from day to day.

20. THIS is the manner ye may meet that urge which at times prompts thee to seek revenge. That belongs only to Him, and is not of thyself. For, this brings or breeds hate. And hate is sin.

21. As to the influences arising from the activities in the earth - while not all of these may be given in the present, these are chosen from the book of records here; that ye may see and know thyself, as ye have manifested in the earth.

22. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods of the early settlings along the course of the Monongahela; when camps for refugees were established following the destruction at Dearborn.

23. With the preparations for the activities in defense of those portions of the land, the entity became aware of its ability to encourage or to discourage others.

24. There the entity grew into those activities of ministering to the needs of the young in their developments. Or, as would be termed today, the entity was a teacher, - yet private in nature, as it were. For, special subjects were the activity of the entity; in relationships to language and the conduct in the varied groups that were a part of the entity's experience through that period of sojourn.

25. Through the greater part of the activity the entity gained. From same there arises much of that as a strengthening influence in the guardian forces about the entity. For, as the law is in spirit as well as in mind and matter, like begets like. Kind words, gracious words, NEVER lose their power. They may be deflected by hate and malice, injustice and the like, but they spring ever anew - as hope in the human breast.

26. In that sojourn the entity was known as Amelia Hendersen - not s-o-n. The entity was active in bringing helpfulness in nature's forces, as well as in the minds of the young.

27. Before that the entity was in the English land, during those periods when there were the turmoils with the Norse land - and again with portions of the Spanish land.

28. Thus the entity lived in a period of turmoil, and THEN was a man. The entity rose to leadership among its peoples, urged on by the strength of word and of deed among its fellow men.

29. This brought periods when it may be said that the entity overstepped some of those trusts that were given, yet these

were eventually turned to helpful forces when the ego - by being raised to power - was brought under control.

30. The entity then was not only a leader but one raised to an earlship in the experience. The entity was given grants that may still be a part of records some day brought to light - even with destructive forces being brought about, - in the mental experience, at least - about that area of Northumberland.

31. Then the name was Crumpet. The entity gained, lost and gained; indicating an individual experience, yet from that sojourn there are the abilities as well as tendencies to be curbed within self. Keep that which is good, magnify that which is helpful in the experience of self as well as in others.

32. Determination also arises from that sojourn, as well as doubt. For, the desire to be assured by others oft prevents the entity from real activity.

33. Before that the entity was in the Promised Land during those periods when preparations were being made by those groups to which the entity belonged, for the coming of the Son of man, the Prince of Peace, the heralds for the new day.

34. The entity was closely associated with the priests who were active in the Carmelian area, where there had been the early teachings established years ago by Elijah, Elisha, Samuel; that taught the mysteries of man and his relationships to those forces as might manifest from within and without.

35. The entity then was among the sages who chose the young that were to be set apart as channels through which that blessing might come to the world.

36. Thus the entity was acquainted with the teachings of those groups in Persia, India, Egypt and even of the Hebrews and the activities in Olympus and the isles of the sea.

37. These brought at times periods when the entity needed long periods of meditation, and the setting aside of activities necessary to induce the submerging of the physical to the spiritual in its relationships to materialization.

38. Thus the abilities that may manifest themselves in what has been called by others imagination. Yet it is the arousing of that which is so much a part of self that to submerge it becomes a hindrance or a stumblingstone to thy greater awakening to the use of those abilities as instructor, as director to individuals as well as to smaller groups.

39. In that experience the entity was known as Shalmar.

40. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods of turmoil and strife, when there was the banishment of the Priest and when many had to be reckoned with because of choices made in pronouncements against the King, when many rose in rebellion against the King because of the periods of such slothful activity in that land.

41. The entity was among those peoples of the priests, being a daughter of the sister of the Priest Ra-Ta's mother; but sided against the priest and for the counselors that were later replaced by Natives as well as Atlanteans.

42. These brought periods of mental and material disturbance for the entity. Yet with the return of the Priest, the reestablishing of those activities in which all groups were to be considered and there were to be definite actions taken for the preparing of bodies for the new race to enter, the entity took hold upon the activities in the Temple of Sacrifice and grew to be a power in same - THEN cast same aside.

43. The entity gained, lost, gained and lost.

44. In the present experience, at times too easily does the entity listen at what people will say, rather than to the promptings within and to that it innately knows.

45. Hold fast to those experiences and expressions that may bring to thee that activity of thy guardian forces unfolding before thee, and in and through thee oft.

46. Let thy channels of activity be the edification through writing, and the records of thy visions. Do not bury these. They will bring help to many.

48. (Q) Am I in my right vocation? (A) In the right place. Choose more and more in those directions indicated.

49. (Q) How may my present association be used for mutual interests? (A) By remaining close to ideals that have their basis in that which is wholly creative in relationships to others.

50. (Q) Please give me the following relationships and something of interest concerning each: My husband, [2453]? (A) In the latter part of the sojourn just previous to this, ye trusted - yea, depended wholly upon the physical abilities of that entity. In the Egyptian experience ye fought one with another; eventually becoming companions, associates - but still fought one with another.

51. (Q) My daughter, [...]? (A) In the experiences before this ye were helpmeets one to the other. Through the English land ye were then companions, as man and wife. In the Egyptian period ye were friends, for then she was the entity that finally aroused

you to your activity.

52. (Q) [2441], who introduced me to the "New Life." (A) In the land where the entity found activities among the young were there the closer relationships as helpful forces on to the other. There the entity made for those associations, in the periods when that entity had returned from the Dearborn activity. In Egypt they were antagonistic at times, helpful at others; and eventually worked together harmoniously for the new life.

53. (Q) My brother-in-law, [...]? (A) In the English experience do we find the closer associations. Ye fought one with another, and yet for a single purpose.

54. (Q) Did I receive the mark from Ra-Ta in the Egyptian period? If so, where is it and what is the significance? (A) On the left portion of the upper lip. Speaking and writing is thy forte.

55. (Q) How may I best lead my daughter, [...] into those activities best suited for her development? (A) By the living in self of that which is ever a helpful influence in the lives of those that seek the way. KNOW the abilities of the entity, and then aid in being helpful; not giving, but helping the entity to help self.

56. (Q) Is it indicated that my sister, [...] (who disappeared about two years ago), is still living? If so, where is she? (A) We do not find this true.

57. (Q) Please give the exact hour of my physical and soul birth into this earth plane. (A) There was a deviation in the physical and soul birth here of some thirty-four minutes. For, purposefulness was in the offing, as well as desire of expression upon the part of the entity. Let that purpose guide thee as prompted thee so oft in the experience just before this. For, indeed ye are upon that upward swing for greater enlightenment. Hinder it not. Give if ye would receive.
