1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2520].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions which have prevented the better physical functioning. These are somewhat a complication of disturbances, yet are contributory one to the other in some forms.
4. For, with a tendency for unbalanced conditions in the chemical forces of the body, there is an inclination for the formation of disturbance in these directions.
5. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [2520] we are speaking of:
6. The blood supply indicates a form of anemia, from an effluvium or fuzz in the blood - as might be termed; produced from conditions wherein, with a disturbance in the inflammation to the white portion of the blood supply, there is a form of anemia; producing the form of congestion which at times attacks mucous membranes of the body. And this has been and is the basis for the specific disturbances through the pelvic organs, or the general condition of inflammation and catarrh, or a tendency for the formation of mucous that becomes as a STREP in the lymph - or adhering.
7. These indications we find not only in the pelvic organs but through those conditions about the liver, in the lungs, in the throat, and at times in the nasal passages.
8. Hence we find conditions where these have affected the body at times.
9. This is why there are the tendencies for the body to be easily subject to cold, to distress through the bronchi and larynx at times, and to the mucous membranes in same, as well as those conditions where the antrum and the passages about the nasal forces give distress.
10. These also in their activity produce greater disturbance
2520-2 Page 2
in the present through the pelvic organs and the activity of same, because of changes that are being wrought in the functionings and the activities of the glandular system as related to periods, or the menstrual flow, and the activity upon the ovary and to the tubes themselves.
11. With that form of catarrh, there has not as yet been produced those conditions of tumorous natures; but there is the tendency to form clots. And the activity of these causes the distress to the ORGANS of the pelvis.
12. Hence the irregularity in periods, the overflow at times and the scarcity at others, and the discharge that continues at times - even between the periods, or when there is rather the tending toward acidity in the system.
13. At times, then, great distress is produced to the nervous system; irritations to the mental attitude, headaches, even at periods the tendencies for nausea, repressions through the abdominal area, aching through the small of the back and through the ovarian area.
14. In making for corrections - first we would tend towards the diet that is kept constantly tending more towards the alkaline or alkalin-producing nature.
15. Thus, we would have quantities of citrus fruit juices, or citrus fruits, as a portion of the diet more than once a day.
16. There should be little or no white bread, nor quantities of pastries.
17. Have a great deal of such as liver, tripe, pigs' knuckle, pigs' feet and the like; a great deal of okra and its products, a great deal of any form of desserts carrying quantities of gelatin. Any of the gelatin products, though they may carry sugars at times, these are to be had oft in the diet.
18. There should be at least two or three series of the osteopathic RELAXING treatments; stimulating centers for better elimination.
19. At least once a week (though not during the periods, to be sure), there should be used the Violet Ray with the Vaginal Applicator. Use this for a minute and a half, at least once each week. Use this for at least five times. Then rest from it until the next month, you see; and take again.
20. Throughout the whole period of the treatments, save just at the period of menstruation, we would twice each week have vaginal douches with Atomidine as an antiseptic; the proportions being about twenty drops of Atomidine to the quart and a half of water - body temperature - but used immediately, as soon as prepared. Use only in the Fountain

Syringe, with the vaginal applicator.
21. Once a week, and between these times of the Atomidine douches, we would use Glyco-Thymoline as a douche; a tablespoonful to a pint of water.
22. Do these, and be very careful not to expose self by getting body damp or by taking colds or producing congestion; and these will bring much bettered and improved conditions for this body.
23. Follow the diet, do have the corrections, keep better eliminations, be mindful to refrain from exposure and from getting feet damp or the body wet from rain or cold or the like.
24. Ready for questions.
25. (Q) Are the headaches connected with my menstrual period? (A) The headaches are connected, as has been indicated.
26. (Q) What causes the few white marks on the left side of my neck? (A) This is from the variation in the circulation. Massage the body, and especially the neck and upper portion of the body, as well as the lower limbs and across the hips, with Pure Peanut Oil - at least once a week.
27. (Q) What causes gas pains in my bowels? (A) These all come from the nerve disturbance; and with the change in the diet, with the better eliminations and relaxing, with the nerve tensions relieved, these should disappear.
28. (Q) Should I take something for my cold bloodedness - it seems I'm never warm enough after September passes. (A) With the increasing of the blood supply, by the character of the diets and the treatments indicated, these conditions should disappear. Do as outlined, for these will meet those conditions as disturb the body in the present.
29. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Dr. McClelland [Howard G. McClelland, D.O.]; Alkaline Diet List.)
