This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 1st day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2548], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [2533].

R E A D I N G
Time of reading 11:00 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that I will ask:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2548].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better physical functionings in this body.
4. These have gradually become a complication of disturbances; arising first, primarily, from an infectious force in the blood supply.
5. Then, with the applications made, these turned to a catarrhal disturbance in the lymph and its blood supply to the organs, to the soft tissue through the body; and has BEGUN to be a structural or a bone and ligament disturbance - from the very nature of the condition, or the drain upon the system, in its attempt to bring about the creating of the red blood cellular force in the system.
6. Hence there is the beginning of a softening of bone structure, which will eventually become static unless there are measures taken - not merely to allay but to eliminate those causes that first prompted the disturbance; and thus allay the conditions which exist through nerve, blood and structural portions - now - of the body.
7. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2548] we are speaking of:
8. The blood supply indicates the former and present conditions of a humor in the lymph supply.
9. Also the nerve forces in the centers - as in the sacral, through the muscular ends and tendons - indicate a static condition in the supplying of energies to the locomotory centers; especially the lumbar area.
10. The conditions through the organs indicate that the disturbance is in the lymph, the functioning of organs, rather than in the organs themselves. The organs are not

yet involved, other than functionally.
11. These as we find are the conditions that present a complication.
12. The throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx - all of these, by the very nature of the inflammation, supply at times those poisons that are to be eliminated.
13. The heart's activity is irregular.
14. The digestive system, and the assimilations and eliminations, are naturally sympathetically disturbed.
15. The liver, kidneys and the activities in the hepatic circulation are surcharged with the accumulation of poisons and the lack of their proper elimination through their nominal channels.
16. Then, in making administrations for helpful forces - as indicated, not only must the pressures be allayed but there must be considered the causes as well as the effects of these conditions.
17. First we would prepare a tonic, as well as a corrective measure in same. Put these together in the manner indicated.
18. To 1/2 gallon Distilled Water, add - in the ORDER NAMED: Yellow Dock Root.............1 ounce, Burdock Root...............1/2 ounce, Toothache Bark.............1/2 ounce, Buchu Leaves................20 grains, Mandrake Root................1 grain, Elder Flower...............1/2 ounce. Boil this - not in aluminum but in enamel, preferably with a glass cover. Reduce by slow boiling until there is 1 pint, when strained.
19. Then add:
20. Grain Alcohol - 1 ounce, in which there would be cut and dissolved 2 drams Balsam of Tolu.
21. The dose of this would be half a teaspoonful four times each day - until the whole quantity has been taken.
22. During that period, do not take fried foods nor too great quantities at any time of flesh or meats.
23. Vegetables, fruits, cereals, milk and the like should form the principal part of the diet.
24. Take all those foods that are Vitamin B reinforced.
25. Also throughout the period we would take CALCIOS three times a week; the quantity as would be spread like butter on a whole wheat cracker.
26. When this has been completed, leave off for three days.
27. Then begin with a gentle correcting through the lumbar,

the sacral, the upper dorsal and cervical areas; osteopathically.
28. Rather than corrective treatments - that is, making adjustments - let all of these be stimulating to setting up drainages.
29. Take two each week until at least ten treatments have been had.
30. During the period of the adjustments, or stimulating treatments osteopathically, take internally the Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic. It is not very tasteless, but that's the name it is called. Also take Bromo-Laxative Quinine tablets, that the poisons from the system - AS the stimulation is made - will be better eliminated.
31. WHEN these have been taken for a period of at least two weeks, have a thorough colonic irrigation. Have this done scientifically, NOT just an enema. Have this repeated, about a week or two weeks apart, until there is no more of the phlegm or the congestion indicated in the colon.
32. It may be necessary to repeat these the second time, but these as we find will bring bettered conditions for this body, [2548].
33. Ready for questions.
34. (Q) Is this condition the cause of the continuous colds to which I am subject? (A) Naturally - because it produces the effects upon all of the lymph circulation, as indicated, and keeps those tendencies towards an acidity. But the basic conditions are much deeper, and the body is in the position where it may become very serious - unless there are real corrective measures taken as to causes.
35. (Q) Is there any trace of venereal disease? (A) This was the beginning of the disturbance, as indicated. Thus the needs for the purifying of the system by the eliminations being set up, and the adding of that in the supply of the lymph to eradicate same from the system.
36. (Q) Is beer or natural wine harmful to me? (A) Beer or ANY of the brewed or distilled liquors are harmful. For, they only add to the lymph disturbance - by exciting to activity throughout the mucous membranes of the whole body. We would refrain even from carbonated drinks. Ice cream and ices may be taken, but not carbonated waters. These also excite lymph activity, and with the burr in some of the tissues of the body is irritating.
37. (Q) Are my teeth and gums in a healthy condition? (A) They couldn't be with the general disturbance in the

flow. For, as indicated and as outlined, there are the necessities for adding the structural forces or building materials for the body. These are becoming soft and there is a drawing upon the gums for sustenance. These - the gums - we would massage with an equal combination of salt and soda. This is preferable to most of the dentifrices. Later, when conditions are improved, have all necessary corrections made. It is not necessary to do this during these special applications suggested. Do that.
38. (Q) What must I do to increase my virility? (A) Relieve the body stresses from all of those poisons and the lack of the vital energies to build up the organs of reproduction. The ways to do this have been outlined. Do that. Follow those indications consistently; else we will find greater disturbance arising - especially in structural ends of the system - joints, and in the segments along the spine. Do these and we will rid the system of the disturbance and bring bettered conditions for this body.
